  1. He obviously meant that line to apply to the Big 10, not Nebraska, but I think the subtext is that it isn't just the right time to expand in general, but also the right time to look at adding certain particular schools, hint hint.
  2. Well, I think we know where Bo stands on NU joining the Big 10, not that any of us couldn't have guessed.
  3. So if Nebraska just up and left, they'd have to repay all the money they'd gotten from the Big 12 over the last two years? I'm not good at deciphering legalese.
  4. This was my thought as well. A hard hitting, in the box safety who plays bigger than his size, but also has plenty of speed to cover well if he's coached up a little bit.
  5. The Broncos managed to turn picks number 11, 43, and 114 in to 22, 25, and 87. That's a good day's work if you ask me, just looking at it from that perspective. I'm also one of those crazy tin hat people who think Tebow can be an effective starting QB in the NFL, so I think the Broncos kicked some butt in round one.
  6. Speaking as a fan, that's awesome. Speaking as an artist, that's some pretty bad perspective and foreshortening.
  7. Depends on the context in which they were using it in. It might be an inside thing that a few players conjured up together during the spring. Otherwise the popular meaning of it in the hip-hop world is "West Side" aka the West Coast. Rappers who are from the West Coast will throw up the "W" in their videos or when posing for pictures. Then there is also variations of it used in gang signs. The West side sign is made with one hand, by crossing the middle and ring fingers. Don't know what the players were doing on the field, but it wasn't that.
  8. Tough to know just listening, but I hope it speaks well for our O line play and depth.
  9. Wow, what an amazing gesture of love and appreciation. My goodness.
  10. Better add some extra seating to the Martinez bandwagon.
  11. The impression I get from that article is that West actually isn't too wild about his change of direction, but understands it might be his only hope of seeing playing time.
  12. The way I'd see this package shaping up: Meredith - Steinkuhler - Crick - Allen Who knows on the LBs... any two of Martin, David, Compton, Fisher or May Hagg as the "peso back" Dennard - Gomes - Smith - Amukamara
  13. I see them having him maintain his size and trying to move him around a lot. There's so much cool stuff you can do with a TE who's versatile enough to line up in the slot. The best part, if they can manage to make it work, is that it would really help keep the offense on the field, as McNeill would theoretically be racking up a ton of short completions a la Dallas Clark. You have to have a guy who's big enough to play TE effectively and also quick enough to play slot effectively to make it work, though, so we'll see if Mike is up to the task.
  14. Nexus, that's awesome. Thanks for taking the time to put that together.
  15. You can generate some good mismatches by moving a versatile guy like McNeill into and out of the slot. If he burns the LBs out of the slot and the opposing defense starts bringing up the SS to help and/or subs out a linebacker for a nickel back, then move him in tight and run at them or exploit their lone deep safety and take a shot downfield. And it obviously works in reverse, if the defense is stacking the box or blitzing heavily, move him out and either pull a linebacker out of the box in man or burn them with some short completions.
  16. It certainly seems to support the notion that NU will be looking to run more of a spread offense this year.
  17. I think you get 12 minutes to answer the 50 questions. That would be 14 or 15 seconds per question, so you have to be fast and pretty sharp to score high.
  18. Bowman's injuries were heartbreaking & IMO crushing blows to our defense at the time. He would've been the heart & soul of our D if he would've been able to stay healthy. Bowman was something to behold out on the field. Zack had 59 tackles and 6 INTs for the Bears this year in his first full season in the NFL. True talent that never got a chance to shine for the Huskers.
  19. How about Zack Bowman? He couldn't stay on the field as a Husker and he also played here a few years too early. Imagine what a healthy Bowman would have done in Pelini's defense...
