  1. Beck was always going to be the guy. We weren't shopping around for a playcaller; that's exactly why we didn't get Frost, and probably any other high profile guys we talked to. The job was already Beck's. We had Jamal Turner spilling the beans a MONTH ago that Beck was going to be the guy going forward.
  2. There were a bunch that just missed the cut. Other than the obvious SMB 3, and in no particular order:
  3. I'd plus 10 this if I could. Your children have to know who's the boss, but discipline should come from love and concern. Your child's obedience should come from love and respect, not fear. Hot sauce and cold showers might not be abuse, but it smacks of sadism, anger, and power tripping. Children can be reasoned with, and there are many non-physical punishments that can be effective. However, when a physical correction is called for, and it will be with even the best children once in a while, a simple spanking has been proven effective and sufficient by parents all around the world for centuries.
  4. The only way I could see there being truth to this is if Bo didn't mean for that comment to go public.
  5. PB, I flatter myself by thinking I'm a pretty devout Christian. I in no way believe that that guy visited and brought back to us stories of his time in hell. He takes scriptures out of context. The hell he paints a picture of is pretty much the popular image of hell that's been built up over the years by writers, artists, and later actors and directors, which more closely resembles Roman purgatory or the Muslim hell described in the Quran than anything written in the bible. Demons are fallen angels, not misshapen nightmare monsters from a Dungeons & Dragons manual. They are not ignorant, they are intelligent. They will not be there to torture defenseless humans in hell, they will be there to suffer eternal separation from God, just like everyone else there. I highly suggest that you read this article.
  6. Baseball. The toughest stretch of the year for me as a sports fan is the two months or so from the end of CFB to the start of spring training. Once MLB starts, I'll be all set until September/October.
  7. Moving to a spread option offense makes all the sense in the world. You need have the ability to spread defenses out and keep them honest. If you can't do it vertically, then do it horizontally. They need to really, REALLY commit to this and not just run the zone read out of a different formation and hope for better results.
  8. #1. 10-1 odds that sailor wishes she hadn't written this story. #2. Hey, Bo. This is what hostile media looks like. Nebraska's sportswriters seem pretty tame right now, huh?
  9. It's easy to run your mouth if you never plan on stepping on the field to back it up. If he's going to say something like that, he damn well better come here and try to prove it. If not, his cockiness is actually cowardice.
  10. I don't know... I didn't find too much to laugh about this season.
  11. Very nice. I like how Gilmore is challenging Kinnie specifically to step up his game now that Niles and McNeill are gone, and then he's informed by the journalist that Kinnie was his most productive receiver this year. He did a pretty good job of scrambling to cover his tracks after that, though.
  12. Well, no, we can't completely rule out the possibility that it really is Taylor and he's just got a cruel sense of humor.
  13. It's not the video, it's that this dude already started a (now deleted) thread under a different username claiming that Adam Schefter was reporting that Shawn Watson had been fired, and linking to that highlight video saying it was a video of the report on ESPN. Not cool, buddy.
  14. You won't be alone. How many times this season did McNeill bust his butt to get open while Taylor was busy staring down his blanketed primary receiver and trying to decide which sideline to run towards?
  15. I think that would be a good way to get Bo to circle the wagons.
  16. What it really comes down to is a complete lack of execution by almost every player on the offensive side of the football. It's staggering to watch.
  17. I'm gonna have to go take off my Huskers t-shirt. For some reason it feels like it's made of horsehair or something right now...
  18. Freaking LOL. What else could possibly go wrong tonight?
  19. I don't like seeing Dennard getting shaken up on a routine tackle like that...
  20. Is there any way this game doesn't go into overtime now?
  21. Awesome news and a good decision for Alfonzo, I think.
  22. Thanks, rawhide. Turning the big 3-0 today, but it's been a great day so far. Spent some more quality time with the family, and I got this hoodie from my old man, which is probably the nicest piece of Husker gear I've ever owned
