  1. All things considered, could you think of a more fitting end to 2007 college football season than that final score in the title game? I'm banking on OSU for that very reason, but I REALLY cannot stand the Buckeyes, so I hope I'm wrong.
  2. I enjoyed this one: 2001 Colorado Buffaloes: 73 2007 Nebraska Cornhuskers: 30 It would have been worse, but CU's kicker missed 5 extra points (WTF??). Actually, looking at the so-called box score from this "game", it's got me questioning the research they did to put this together. The kicker that they've got playing for Colorado didn't attempt a kick until 2002 (though he was horrific, at least they got that right). CU's most commonly used running back from that year (Cortlen Johnson) touched the ball a grand total of 3 times during the entire game, and... uh, oh yeah, there were a combined 63 first downs during the game. That seems more than a touch far fetched. As a point of reference, this year's CU/NU defensive clinic featured 54 first downs... could we really have squeezed 9 more first downs out of a game?
  3. I've gotta say, the lyrics to Man in the Box fit with the current situation at Nebraska PERFECTLY! Most Tool songs wouldn't fit the bill, but they've got a few that would work just fine. Prison Sex would mesh pretty well with a defensive highlight reel, as would most of the tracks off of Opiate.
  4. Now, if you want some metal stuff that could POSSIBLY work, you'd be better off looking at In Flames. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu3DvBaDAY8
  5. I enjoy metal and hardcore (particularly Snapcase) from time to time, but do you honestly think that would go over well at all? Good God, I think the stadium would react better if you played Tiny Tim or Raffie when the team was taking the field - Cannibal Corpse would have 99.5% of the stadium throwing up on themselves, and the other .5% thinking "OH MAN, THIS IS AWESOME!!! WOOO!!!" When choosing music for a stadium, it's always better to side with the 99.5% majority - I say the Huskers should just put on some Merle Haggard so EVERYONE in Nebraska will be happy
  6. And it wasn't that long ago that Nebraska suspended a player for one game against a doormat opponent after he was arrested for assault... and resisting arrest... and drunk driving. And it wasn't that long ago that a CU starter was suspended for the entire season (and fall semester classes) after getting in 1 fight. Show me what you're referencing, and show me the penalty that student received for his actions. Then maybe we can talk... well, we can read anyway (which of course is far more than you can say for a healthy wad of the players Osborne awarded degrees to in the 80's and 90's).
  7. This statement in particular... oh man but this one is true....lol....been proven in the past!! Uhh... do you really want to get into this argument? You really don't have much of a leg to stand on here, Colorado has consistently held its players to far higher standards than Nebraska. Sure, CU players aren't immune to bad behavior, but they're actually punished for it when it takes place. Oh, AND it should probably be mentioned that CU loses at least 2 or 3 recruits every year on account of their not having good enough grades to get in... when's the last time you heard about that happening in Lincoln? I'm not intending to rag on the education people receive at NU at all, but I really don't think you're in any position to be slandering the academic integrity of Colorado.
  8. This thread is by far my favorite of all time! This statement in particular... oh man
  9. Of course, you also can't go wrong with a little Sepultura (the video is beyond awesome) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iXCRsvMXWU
  10. I would have a very hard time referring to any hardcore tune as the greatest song of all time, but this jam takes Hatebreed's best out back and beats it with a sack of doorknobs. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendID=57684045 Click on "Lost in Doubt" (couldn't find the song anywhere else, my apologies)
  11. I'm sure a lot of people have been wondering this, so I'll go ahead and ask: During the Russian Civil war, did you find yourself rooting for the Provisional Government or the Bolsheviks?
  12. Just out of curiosity, is that Clete Blakeman walking with your boys in the first shot?
  13. Uhh... do you honestly believe there's no skill involved in throwing a ball 75 YARDS DOWNFIELD? If it's all luck, anyone should be able to do it (like win at roulette, that certainly requires "all luck"). I'd like to see you give this one a shot:
  14. Agreed. Here's the best song they ever inspired:
  15. Did you seriously lay out that long of a response? Holy moley, I've got to give you credit for being so comprehensive... I certainly hope that CU fan thanked you for the dissertation. Next time, just say "unngh". It works far better. Gutteral noises are the ultimate in universal language.
  16. Tiger, I don't get the "TUFF AS RAIN" thing. Rain is usually gentle. Now if it said "TUFF AS HAIL". Don't get him started on that one.
  17. I know, it is hard sometimes but i just smile and wave. I got pretty pissed of the other day though. I bought my kid a new huskers hoody and he wore it to school. After school he came home and said he didn't want to wear it anymore because some of the kids were giving him a real hard time. Mind you my son is 8. It goes to show you what kind of people some sCUm fans are when they teach their kids to be crappy f@cking fans at that age. I just had ot tell them not to let it get to him because some people are like that and there will always be. Even though I wanted to tell him he could punch them in the face if they gave him more crap. But that would just be lowering to their level. EDIT: Hey I just noticed I final went over a 100 posts a little while ago. cool Oh come on, you're telling me that you think an 8 year old kid sporting a CU sweatshirt in Lincoln wouldn't get picked on by other kids for wearing it? They're 8 year old boys, picking on each other is what they do. As far as being flipped off in your car goes... well, I'm sorry about that, I really should keep my attention on the road. I'm not saying it won't happen again though
  18. She's not gonna be so cute when she's 28 and her spine looks like a... uhh, for some reason I can't come up with a good simile here. Damn, what a rack!
  19. What??? I'm really curious, how does one harbor hatred towards Baylor? Their students are tame, they have no fan base, their teams are always horrible, and their campus is in the middle of nowhere... there's plenty there to not give two sh#ts about, but I can't think of anything that's even remotely hate-worthy
  20. You raise some good points, but you can't argue that Frazier is as epic of a figure as Grange was; the galloping ghost undoubtedly deserves to be number one. Justice would be served if VY was replaced by Frazier and John Elway was replaced by Byron White.
  21. This one was always my favorite of the WWII/pacific theater propaganda machine.
  22. The breakdown/solo cycle in Motley Crue's "Too Young to Fall in Love" gets me going every time. The song "Stars" by Hum has this same effect. Amazing jam.
