  1. Yeah, but Sams situation was alot different. he went through a battle against Carpenter in spring ball, and was named the starter, only to turn around and be told he was not the starter. Plus he was a senior, and it was his last shot after being a stud before an injury. Patrick Witt did not even have the balls to compete for a starting spot. What I don't like about this Miami kid, he was suspended at Thug U, I did not even know that happend there. Of course I don't think Randy Shannon puts up with to much crap, like the Miami coaches in the past.
  2. Of course it is, Mac Brown is still the coach. This is nothing new for them in recruiting.
  3. The blackshirts were helped by a powerful ball control offense that limited opponents TOP. You mean like how we were at the top in the country this year in TOP?
  4. Like I said in the other thread, the class that started it all in the 90's was ranked in the 20's, but Osborne had some very highly ranked classes. The 1995 and 1996 classes were ranked as high as #2 and #3 in the country. We recruited alot more than just system players, we went after the best talent in the country. The same players all the other big boys at the time went after. You really need to do some research on Husker recruiting. You don't think Tommie Frasier was recruited by the big boys?
  5. Talent level of SC with RARELY ever getting top 10 recruiting classes and having walkon FBs, OL and DL... GET REAL! (This is the 90s) I guess you must be pretty young and did not notice that NU didn't get the top 10 classes under Osborne. I'm an idiot? I guess you need to do a little research about the 90's. Yes the class that started it all was ranked in the 20's, but after that Osborne landed top 10 classes. Max Emfinger of Blue Chips Recruiting ranked our 1995 class #3 in the country. Allan Wallace of Super Prep ranked our 1996 class at #2 in the country. Wow, it sure looks to me like Osborne had top 10 classes. You better take yourself back to Husker school sonny..lol
  6. Talent level of SC with RARELY ever getting top 10 recruiting classes and having walkon FBs, OL and DL... GET REAL! Did you even read the quote you highlighted? He said when we have the talent. So whats up with all the sarcasim? We may never have the talent USC has, but our recruiting classes will get better each year, now that Bo has us on the right track. Also you did not respond to my post above. IDIOT! The 90s teams very RARELY had top 10 recruiting classes, so their talent WAS no where near SC's, you need to get some reading comprehension skills! Nearly all their FBs in the 90s were WALKONS that earned ships! GET YOU SOME! This is about the 90s, not Bo and today! The 90s teams score big points and beat folks up while doing it. OU's fast striking offense caused their defense headaches and had them losing to UT and Florida. They ran the ball on the gators, but could not on Texas. Sorry, I read at the adult level, so I have a hard time comprehending you're writing. What do mean this about the 90's and not Bo today. The rest of us are living in the present, and we realize that we need much better talent then we have right now. Plus it seems that you have no clue about our present team, when you said that we lost since we did not control the ball. Our offense is very balanced, and we were at the top of the country in time of possession. Oh, and another thing, after Osborne won the NC, our recruiting classes were in the top 10. So don't say Osborne did not have top 10 recruiting classes, he did. Its time for you to wake up from you're time warp, and step back into reality.
  7. Wow, if Missouri can't keep this kid, that would be really bad. I think the only time we ever lost a Lincoln kid, is when that Southeast kid went to Notra Dame a while back.

  9. No one on here is cutting down Cody at all. We are all very excited about his potential. What people are commenting about is the unrealistic expectations that alot of fans have about him. The truth is none of the recent good QBs in the country, except Tyrell Pryor, have started as true freshman. Not Vince Young, Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford or Chase Daniel. Our offense is way to complicated for him to start over guys like Zac Lee, who have been in the system for two years. So again, the sarcasm is directed towards the fan expectations of him, and is no way directed towards Cody at all.
  10. Having speed is only one part of the deal.Tierre Green and Andrew Shanle were probably our fastest two DBs a couple years ago as well. What kind of football players are they? You need fast FOOTBALL PLAYERS to be successful.Nothing against May because he he looked pretty good in the limited time that I saw him but Ill be very suprised if he takes snaps from Whaley or Lawrence.Holt and May are good gap fillers who did good in the pinch but Id hate to face a schedule next year with either starting. Again, that kind of sounds like you are saying if they are walk-ons, they should not play ahead of scholarship players. Because we have not even seen Whaley play yet, and from what I have seen of Lawrence, these two are just as good. I think we need to take in account how good Bo is at developing players, and forget about who is a walk-on, and who is on scholarship.
  11. Osborne was an offensive genius! That offense does not control the game and that is why they lost to Missouri, Va Tech and OU. All those teams have identities and the Hokies are a JV version of 90s Nebraska. When you say control the game, are you talking about time of possession? Because we led the country there. OU and Missouri were at the bottom in that stat, because they scored so quickly. So I'm kind of confused about what you are talking about.
  12. Thanks Agent Utah. sincerely, Bodhi
  13. No offense, but when a poster on a message board says end of story without a source, I usually take it with a grain of salt. I'm not saying you are wrong, but I want offical confermation.
  14. I dont really have an opinion if he starts. But when annoucers say and NU has 2 walk-ons starting today, it makes NU seems untalented. And for the people who dont want to start it is because if football you just dont run, you have to do other things such as tackling . So even if they want speed May may not be the best guy, because obviously if he was good enough Bo would have gave him a scholarship. So, when Nebraska was kicking butt on a regular basis with upper classmen walk-ons as starters and helping stack the 2 and 3 deep, we seemed weak????? And, the answer is to make sure our walk-ons are so sorry that they'll never challenge a scholarship athlete for playing time. That way the announcers won't have to announce a walk-on's name and make us sound weak? Having excellent walk-ons isn't a sign of weakness, its a sign of strength. If a walk-on cracks the 2 deep, he typically was awarded a scholarship. 1) if he has a scholarship 2) if he is playing ahead of another scholarship player 3) then he is not a underskilled piece of meat
  15. Nope. I would think the Journal Star would have been all over by now if it were true. My guess is, he just strained a muscle.
  16. If this is true then you can throw out Damon Bennings projected starters for next year. http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.ph...p;hl=kyler+reed I wonder if all the people who think he is playing TE, ever realised that he was moved to LB? I know that he was at LB and I know he moved back to TE. How do you know?

  18. That just shows you that Joey is much quicker then he is fast.
  19. Well unfortunately you won't be playing against Kevin Cosgroves defense, and you're team will be running into a brick wall named Suh. Did you happen to watch the Huskers shut down the run game of CJ Spiller and Clemson in the Gator Bowl? I think it will be a good game however, because as much as I hate it, you are our main rivals. I'll concede the Cosgrove part of your statement, but to bust out Clemson on me?? lol Clemson is the Michigan of the south, highly rated to start the season and sinks faster than the Titanic by the end of the season....lol Um, I hate to correct you, but Clemson started out horrible, then won 6 out of their last 7. And they kicked the crap out their in state rival, and SCC team, South Carolina. They have more team speed than NU and CU combined, and Spiller will be a first round draft pick at RB next year. They were a running team, and we held them to 4 yards rushing. So I feel really good about shuting down the CU rush game next year. But again, it will more than likely be a close game. We'll see, the last time we had a nice stable of runningbacks we set all sorts of records against you guys and that was pre-Cosgrove. Clemson was a paper tiger though. Paper tiger doesn't discount 2 NFL running backs that our bad rush defense held to 4 yards. So the fact that you tore apart ONE of our defenses on the ground pre-Cosgrove means you're going to go ahead and tear apart possibly the top defensive unit in the big 12? Makes sense. Who is the possible top defensive unit in the Big 12? That would be the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Take it to the bank Buff.

Nice tag team effort huskerswrkhavoc. I think our facts about shutting down the NFL running speed of Clemson, combined with the fact that we should have the best D-Line in the Big 12 next year, equals complete ownage of A Buffs fan. Sorry BeachBuffs

  22. A pressure defense, and a fast break offense. I was watching them against TT, and it was really fun to watch. Missouri must have made about 20 layups after missed shots or turnovers. I know we had to play stall ball because that was the only way for us to stay in the game, but I really hated it. If it was the Princeton half court game that would have been different, but it was dribble around the 3 point line until the clock was down to 5 seconds then throw up a crappy shot. It will be interesting to see how we evolve on offense next year. But if we get the athletes Mizzou has, I hope we play that style of basketball.
  23. That one came out of left field. And I'm sure his daddy already did, and I bet his daddy got his head ripped off..lol From most of you're posts, I gather you are about as much of a freak as you're buddy Vince. I mean that in a nice way.
  24. No one ever posted about it, so thats why I was confused. I liked the idea of having that kind of athlete at LB. It seems that we have enough TE's.
  25. I bumped this thread, because now people are saying he is playing TE again. Which is it guys, or is he practicing at both until they make a final decision?
