  1. Nice. I'm so glad he is back at practice.
  2. I say, if a kid is no longer interested in us, we stop posting updates on him.
  3. These kids want to play for teams that they know will be in the hunt for a national championship, and right now, we are not one of those schools. And some of these " wow" kids don't pan out, so I love the fact that Bo can develope " wow" players who might not that highly ranked out of high school. Be patient man, I think our recruiting will get better each year from here on.
  4. I thought last year was a rebuilding year? Didn't we lose something like 7 pitchers after 2007? I was really disappointed in how we finished the season last year, after starting out so well, so maybe this year we peak at the end of the season.
  5. They're still waiting for O'Hanlon to finish his 40. I mean the coaching staff didn't even use a stopwatch but a sun dial rather to clock this guy's 40 time. He is exactly what has been wrong with this D for the past 4 or 5 years. You can't put someone back there that runs a 40 in the 5's and expect him to cover a 4.3 or 4.4 guy. See O'Hanlon covering CJ Spiller in the last 2 minutes of the Gator Bowl. Spiller is supposedly a 4.3 guy...O'Hanlon covered him perfectly. I don't remember who said it...but half of speed in football is coaching. (ie being/going where you are supposed to be) I love it when people shoot down dumb posts with hard facts. That was perfect coverage by O'Hanlon, and it showed that he has speed, because Spiller is crazy fast. 5.0 40 my ass. Yes we have to have better team speed, but good coaching works wonders.
  6. I predict that gabbert will suck, and lose to NU three years in a row. /thread
  7. Yeah, like his legit camp timed 4.5 40.
  8. Bo and his staff have put fun back into being a Husker. I just love the team building stuff they are doing, and our team chemistry is so much better now because of it. And the unity between Husker sports is going to help keep our coaches wanting to stay at Nebraska for a long time.
  9. I think what is telling, is that Bo says he looks smaller, while carrying more weight. That means he has lost body fat, and put on pure muscle. And with the type of fast twitch muscle training they do, he will be more explosive and faster for sure. I just can't wait to see him become the best RB in the Big 12 next year.
  10. You guys were not ball hawking last year and the year he coached at OU they didn't get any TOs either. Maybe that first year was a BIG anomally? Um yeah, did you happen to watch LSU in 2007? They forced a crap load of turnovers, so I expect us to improve greatly in that area this year.
  11. From what I hear, he is a legit 4.6, so I would that is a lot faster top end speed than Joe's 4.9. Joe was much quicker than he was fast.
  12. Yeah, the DB's shpuld be a lot better this year. I hope we don't have any more DB's as slow as Murillo. The dude ran a pathetic 4.65 at pro day.
  13. He posted it at 3 am, so I'm sure he was drunk. Thats why you should never drink and post.
  14. I sure hope he is a lot faster, because Joe can barely break 5.0 in the 40.
  15. Wow, he really seems to know what is going on at Nebraska right now. How refreshing, to have an espn guy who knows what the hell he is talking about.
  16. Nice, keep showing him Latravius spraying it all over the field and he'll think he can move up the depth chart immediately. I doubt he looks at a JR LB switched to QB, as his main competition. But I see what you are getting at.
  17. Ummmm....Bjax was a Cally recruit. I'd say he excelled. Getting drafted in the second round as a junior seems "decent." (We could find more...but since we are dealing with a "single" freshman this should be sufficient.) So about this Suh guy. Not Bo's work - he was a Cally recruit. When he's a first round pick next year, I hope you credit Callahan and Cosgrove and the staff that recruited him. You're going to do that, right? Wrong. He was Callahans recruit, but he is Bo and Carl's work. He would not be even close to a first round pick if he was not coached by the Pelini's, so why would we give any credit to those idiots? I thank them for bringing him to NU, and then getting fired, so coaches that know how to develope talent could come in and do the job that they should have done.
  18. Like I said, if KU does not get this guy, I will be shocked. Which sucks, because they are stock pileing good recievers right and left. Dad= KU alumni Head Coach= KU alumni The fact that KU is stacked in receivers could benefit us. Being that we lost swift and peterson gives him a great opportunity of coming in and seeing the field in a short period of time. Good point. I hope he takes that in consideration, and does not have pressure from dad, and coach, to go to KU.
  19. I suspect you really enjoy stirring the pot. Weren't you really high on Cody Green? Now a LB who hasn't played QB since high school is going to challenge him?? Hmmmm. Probably doesn't matter either way. Lee's got a few years left. I'm still really high on Green, but if Washington really has a cannon for an arm, and he is a duel threat, he has a shot. They are both even right now when it comes to the play book, so you never know what could happen. You are right though, the other QB's have been under center a lot more than him, since he has not played QB since h.s. It will be fun to see if he develops.
  20. Like I said, if KU does not get this guy, I will be shocked. Which sucks, because they are stock pileing good recievers right and left. Dad= KU alumni Head Coach= KU alumni
  21. Where did they rank nationally? The big 12 was HORRIBLE on defense and they played in the north division and didn't face OSU or Texas last year. I know you have an OSU fetish, but seriously TT was ranked higher offensively than Texas and OSU. We took TT to overtime. If you seriously weren't excited about our D last year especially in the bowl game, then I'm not even sure God can help you. The D this year will be the ones carrying this team. If the D makes any strides at all from a year ago, they will be one of the better units in D1. Think about this too. In 2006, we almost beat Texas but lost 22-20. In 2007, amidst all the turmoil and how bad we were playing, we almost beat Texas IN TEXAS but lost 28-25. Not matter how good or bad we are doing, we always had Texas figured out, so if we had had to play them last year I bet we would have had a close similar game. Well that doesn't mean much, because KSU beat them twice, with Ron Prince at the helm. I would say we are far from having them figured out, since we have not beaten them since 1999. I could care less if we play them close, until we beat them, they own us.
  22. Yep, he is too damn slow. Bo wants speed, speed and more speed. Hopefully Mr. Compton is ready to play a big load in his first year on the field for us. What is Compton's 40? From the video I've seen on him, he hits like a train but he really doesn't show much for blazing speed either. Oh you mean like Callahan? I say give the job to Koehler. i say give it to the best player at that position. I think this may go back to last year as well. Dillard was supposedly cleared to play towards the end of the season, many seemed to think then that the coaches were underselling the extent of his injury but I am not so sure now. I think when he came back to practices he got beat out for playing time plain and simple. He probably didn't help himself in the offseason either, but I think he may of seen the writing on the wall since the Gator Bowl prep. The coaches have made it pretty obvious that if you want to play you have to the best guy we have at that position, otherwise you are going to have to work hard to try and get playing time. I simply said Koehler because I know the guy I'm more intrigued by the LB battle than I am with the QB battle. Considering we just moved a LB to QB, I'm scared as hell about the QB battle. While LB's are extremely important to the D, we do have a very good front line in front of them. I can't think of any more important position offensively besides the QB. Why are you scared? We are 4 deep at the position, and they were all highly ranked comming in. Yeah, its a little scary breaking in a brand new QB, but I love how Watson adjusts the system to fit his QB's strength. I think there is a chance that Washington could beat out Green in the future.
  23. At 6'2, he is about what all the good recievers his height weigh comming out of h.s. And he if you look, you will see that his 40 time is electronic camp timed, so its not one of those b.s self reported times. He plays for one of the best programs in the state of Missouri, in its largest class, so I'm sure his 4 stars are well deserved
  24. Didn't he already redshirt when he was a freshman?
