  1. I would have picked Fallujah, but I guess Colorado is a close second.
  2. Yes they did. I guess they don't mind a bunch of dummies dragging down the GPA for the rest of the PAC 10 Conference. They could probably bring that average up having a curriculum which includes building urine bombs.
  3. WHEN HAS AN INCOMPLETE PASS OUT OF BOUNDS EVER BEEN REVIEWED TO SEE HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD BE PUT ON THE CLOCK? It was a non-reviewable play but they did it for Texas since they (ran) the conference. They (were) the CEO/Chairman of the old big twelve!!!!! Never, only when it is Texas and they are not going to the BCS National Championship Game. Tom Osborne brought up this point at the Big 12 meeting in KC. Quote was something like, (I guess we need some new guidelines/rules on how we put time back on the clock for incomplete passes) I will look it up and edit this. I think the last straw was/were a couple things. All championship games to be in the state of Texas and not rotating them. All teams voting consistently with Texas and against NU. I think 11-1 was the common number on most votes involving Big 12 issues. How many people remember the 93 Orange Bowl against Florida State. It was 4th and long with a few secs left to play. Tommie Fraizer completes a pass to give the Huskers a 1st down and get in field goal range, but time had expired. The refs review the play and determine that 3 sec should be added on the clock. We kick a long field goal but we missed it. We lost the game 16 to 18, if we would of made that we would of won 3 mnc three years in a row and 4 of 5 years. The point is our Huskers got 3 sec added after the clock had expired and I heard no bitching about it. So please lets give this a rest. The reason were going to the Big 10 it is what is best for Nebraska. Even if we had beat Texas last year we are still gone. The simple fact is it was a whole package deal. We get more revenue being on the Big 10 Network for sports. We are in a conference with all AAU accredited schools which adds prestige, and hopefully a larger, more diverse enrollment. Finally, the Big 10 will help us get our foot in the door when it comes to R&D cash which will help the campus expand its facilities years down the road.
  4. Oh yes, absolutely. That's the ONLY reason Nebraska is joining the Big 10. Because one second got put on the clock in the Conference Championship Game. That is 100% the only reason whatsoever this is happening. You're like the Amazing Kreskin. You just perceive things so clearly, it's like magic. Bravo! Kreskin. Where have I heard that before....
  5. @kozzman555 - Keep your head down and your powder dry.

  6. Boise will not go to the North and why should they? They've owned their cream puff conference for a better part of a decade and have received recognition on the national stage the last few years. They won't give that up to play in a conference where the games will be twice as tough to win.
  7. I agree as well. Total B.S. The NCAA has no choice but to lower the boom this time because it has been so public. If it was just the Reggie Bush deal, a case could be made someone outside the program had undue influence on a player without the college's knowledge. But when you factor in the O.J. Mayo incident, then it becomes a trend that cannot be ignored. The college was well aware what was going on and chose to turn a blind eye to it.
  8. That's awesome!!!!!!!!!! :worship :cheers :rollin I don't care who you are but that's funny right there.
  9. I can agree with you there, muffler. That Dauber always cracked me up too... Killer I hate to be that guy.....but it was Hayden Fox on Coach Yeah, but they do have a real life Dauber as their Defensive Coordinator.
  10. No kidding. He excepts a position at what was supposed to be a BCS school, and he may be no better off than if he stayed a Buffalo.
  11. You are correct, but these were the same kinds of denials that came out when it was reported that Steve Pedersen and Bill Callahan were fired, and when Bo was hired. The language doesn't say that we have not agreed in principle to join the Big 10. What they say is that they have not voted on it. The vote is a formality based on discussion held ahead of time. I deal with "plausible deniability" at my job every day. I am as skeptical as they come, but I will be stunned if 48 hours from now we're not headed to the Big 10. As far as I'm concerned, this is a politician's non-denial denial. Pack the bags.
  12. Can't wait for the pi$$ing match between UT and USC to see who's the biggest bully on the block.
  13. Oh how the high and mighty have fallen. I'm sure the PAC 10 will have to review if they really want a bunch of dummies dragging their academic standards down. Maybe the Mountain West Conference is taking applications.
  14. At least it will make a nice bowl to keep what's left over on the ride to the hospital.
  15. Episode One is called Long Range. Weapons Featured in this episode: 1. M1903 Springfield 2. SVT 40 Takarev (Russian) 3. Mosin Nagant 1891/30 (Russian) 4. M14 (US) 5. Remington 700 (US) The show will repeat on Tues. 10/9c and Wed. 8/7c
  16. Nuclear energy could be 100% safe and not one environmentalist would sign off on it. Besides the Obama administration and his party in Congress has made their views known on nuclear energy.
  17. God are you frickin' kidding me? The Simpsons aren't even the best animated show, South Park & Family Guy blow that waste of a half hour outta the water. This ranks right up there with the most incorrect statements of all time. Family Guy is absolutely, mindlessly, terrible. An absolute atrocity that is embraced by frat guys and junior high students. Typical family guy scene: Peter walks into his house. Amelia Earhart is sitting on his couch. <Everyone laughs because OHMYGOD!!!! Earhart is on his couch!!! HOWRANDOMANDHILARIOUS> Just awful. QFT
  18. So true....so true. We have truly lost one of our greatest national treasures and are poorer for it.
  19. Hot off the ESPN Big 12 Blog.....
  20. Ditto! It would make me sick if I saw someone driving impaired and didn't report it, only to find out later the driver ended up killing or maiming someone down the road.
  21. That's where I was. Started Kindergarten on my 5th birthday, moved down to UNL on my 18th birthday. I was one of the youngest kids in my class. Same here. Graduated HS when I was 17 and turned 18 two months later (August). Ditto! Graduated @ 17. Turned 18 two weeks later. Double ditto. Turned 18 (July)
  22. It's just a window dressing PR stunt. A 1000 troops will make no difference. Bush sent 6,000 ANG troops four years ago as a stop-gap measure to bide time to get border agents trained. The troops were basically employed as secretaries and glorified Jiffy Lube workers for the ICE motor pool. Thanks for that sarge. I remember W sent some over there, but couldn't figure out how many, and I too thought they pretty much made coffee all day. If there was only some sort of wall type device we could build... hmmmm Absolutely. I'm all for building a wall/strengthening border patrols. That seems like a no-brainer to me. You're preaching to the choir. But the problem is that neither Republicans or Democrats on The Hill want to do anything about this. I take that back. Some of the ones who have been vocal about the problem have been branded by the media and other illegal immigrant proponents as racists. Some Republicans would rather take a pass because Agriculture and Business like the cheap labor. Democrats take a pass because they want that 20-60 million strong future voting block after amnesty to keep them in power for generations. I sympathize with illegals wanting better life for themselves and their families but this can't continue to go on unchecked. We are importing a new slavery class with little vocational skills and minute education. How does broadening the poverty class do anything for the US except increasing the demand for government subsidies? Why isn't the US government putting pressure on Mexico to improve conditions for their people instead of letting it's president lecture us about racial profiling in the People's House to a standing ovation by those who I will not mention for the sake of not getting a banhammer lowered? The bolded isn't entirely true. The hispanic vote has gone more democratic lately because they feel that the democratic party is more sympathetic to their needs/less latent racism than the republican party. (I'm not saying I agree with that.) However, in general, hispanics probably trend more conservative. Mexico, for example, is about 87% Catholic. Those people will have some serious issues with the pro-choice democrats and other traditionally left talking points. I will agree that Hispanics tend to be socially conservative but politically they are populists because most governments south of the border tend to lean more socialist than capitalist.
