  1. Not crazy about being a "progressive" state..... I like the idea of living in "fly over" country, keeps the crazys out... Just look at "Progressive" Berkely, big pack of jerks....
  2. I usually celebrate the Husker Victory by overturning random parked cars then setting them on fire. If no cars are around its over to 72nd and Dodge to punch a horse or two then shimmy up a light pole and scream incoherently. Gotta support the team. Sounds like a Buffs fan after solving a rubiks cube Damn I was going to say that
  3. Its a long time untill more football, with all the talk about tail gates and such, was wondering what you do after the game. Myself I either hit the downtown bars for a couple of hours then off to The Isle's for some pizza. Or go to a south side bar (avoid the cops) and either party it up, or drink away my sorrows. If its on TV I guess I watch other games, hopefully eat some BBQ. Mmmm smoked meat.....
  4. how about "flustered" never figured that one out...... Also how many pressers has Bo done in his life? He will get better......
  5. Sorry I didnt know who won that (hoped it was TO) as i was out of the country.... thaks
  6. Now I know why TO was on TV......
  7. Just caught the very butt end of TO getting an award last night, belive it was at a coach award thing. Anybody see this what was it?
  8. Sorry, but Jennifer Ansiton, for one year. The nice loop hole is you didnt say we coulnt play for an NC, and while we are asking we would lose in the 7th OT, this of course due to the Heisman curse, witch of course Ganz won......
  9. Heard that Bo wants a night game but TO won't do it. They have the anti drinking and drug thing at halftime. TO knows if its a night game how can the fathers raise there hand a swear not to drink when most of them have been tailgating all day.... Hope we could get a mid to late afternoon kick off..
  10. I like Runzas but can't eat them.... The cabbage in them tear me up, if I have one at night my GF puts my gasy butt on the sofa
  11. Yeah gave us something to complain about on a cold winter day... As I said I thihk this will be an issue we will have to deal with for years to come, someone will always feel left out. Anyway enough on that, the question of expanding, I might be smoking crack here but I thought max attendance was over 80,000. I guess it really dosent matter I think they could safely put in 10,000 more a with little problem, larger east side balconey possibly, maybe after we break 300 then take the chance....
  12. I would much rather see that than to have them end up on Ebay for the opposition's fans to swallow up. I don't mind someone making a little profit for their time and effort to find someone to use their tickets, but (not saying this is you by no means) it p's me off to see someone take the tickets just to make money on them and their not a real fan. Huskertrucker put it right, after all the bi$$hing people (not Bugeater23) that have tickets passed to them and just sell them and maybe go to one game a year... They dont care about the team they are just given the tickets for face value and sell them at ticket express for 300 a pop, but they think they have the right to them no matter what, while thousands of people sit on the list writing a check evey year waitng for someone to move or whatever. Myself I am done with this topic almost sorry I started it.......
  13. There are a few hotels in south Lincoln. There is a holiday inn express on 90th and Hwy 2, and a hamptom inn by the south Lazlos (Old Cheny & Hwy 2.), both with in the last 2 or 3 years, then there is a Ramda Inn (although that may have changed will look into it) on S 10th, that place is old and I dont know of anyone who has stayed there. There is Candlewood Suites, this place has only been open for a couple of months maybe a year so some of the out of towners may not know about it. (402) 420-0330. This is also in south Lincoln, there is a nice place called Venue right by it. Lazlo's is still a quality place, I just think they have stood still while better choices have come along in the last few years. Knappic is right about Misty's ever since they sold it has been a long slow drop in quality and service there. Vincenzos in the Haymarket is good. I havent been there in a while but a place called The Steakhouse on North 33rd and Cornhusker is (was) good, with good prices, and the other extreme is The Lodge at Wilderness Ridge, a very unique place. Feels like an old hunt lodge in Montana or something, it is worth a look.
  14. Have fun in Lincoln. The link on the last post is good but getting a little dated. We have a few Holiday Inn Express'. The Embassy suites has the best location of any hotel, if you have the cash and there are rooms open that would be your absolute best choice (with free brakfast). I would advise you to book hotel ASAP, as thousands of Huskers fill up many of the rooms. If you can I would stay in South Lincoln. (highway 2 is also cornhusker hwy) We have all of the chain joints to eat but as the link says Lazlo's is a staple (although fading IMHO) Venue is new and semi upsacle. Watering hole is a true dive but has the best wings you will ever taste (get the grilled ones). Friday is "O" st time, most people will just give you a gentle pre game ribbing. Dont know what time your bars close but we are done at 1. Bar time downtown car run anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes so go out early. Watch the cops lining the street after the bars, my advise would be head back early to your part of the city if you intend to stay out untill close. Hopefully it will be a night game as the tailgates will be awesome. Also check out Embassy suites, both inside and out. The trophey room will be open a few hours before the game. For the most part it is very easy to get around if you have a car you can get anywhere in 30 min. Game day of course is different, if you do stay downtown you will have a leg up as you can use there parking. If you are in south Lincoln after the game Grada is quickly becoming a last drink HQ (no food there). For a "small" city there is a ton of stuff to do.... I am sure the other people here wil help you out also. Dont know your age group, or how much you want to spend, send me a private message and I can give you some more tailored information. Forgot the downtown Holiday Inn on 9th street, one block away from the Embassy, right on the hay market, great for gameday location. Just been updated, stayed for a friends wedding a couple of moths ago and was very nice (at least what I could remember)
  15. Last year it was like a $5.00 donation that goes to some charities. There are no assigned seats, so get there early. I think people were there at 6 in the morning last year. I don't remember if they still take canned food instead of the money anymore.
  16. Just so you know I came from nothing. I am not rich, but comfortable. 99% of you would'nt do what I do. I leave my family and friends behind for long periods of time to work in some of the most horrible places on earth, it happens to pay me very well. I dont ask for your respect or to even show any. I have brought up a fair question. People can sit here and talk about "Husker like", while I can watch legacy guys whore out there tickets to the highest bidder. What is fair in that? I choose to give my money to the U. The fact is donations are the second biggest source of money to this program. If your family did something for the U in the past great, but I think the debts from the 60's have been paid in full. It is time to let the next generation into the stands, we understand that it takes a little more than just showing up every week to keep the Huskers great. I have invested in this program, I dont think I am a better person or a bigger fan than a legacy, but the first time we lose a coach because we cant come up with the money, then lets see the cries on this site. I bet you feel soooo much better that you got that little gem out how you're better than all of us too. Do you think every person who owns land that has been passed through the generations should forfeit so everyone else can have a chance to buy it? Just wondering comrade. Yes I am so much better than all of you WOW you caught me, I am an a$$!! I never said I was better than anyone, in fact it is in the post towards the end. If your land was for sale would you want a fair price for it, or sell it for less because someone was at a party in the corn field once? Same thing here, only you don't own your seats. UNL can kick me or anyone out at anytime......
  17. Thought this was a fan site. It is a valid question no matter what side you are on it is something all of us will have to work through. Trying to put my thoughts out there and get attcaked, so I am just fighting back a little, thought is was a more interesting topic than "just got back from xxxxx, and boy there fans suck!!! We are so great".
  18. "Yeah That" saying Memorial stadium is the moral compass for nebraska is just plain stupid. If keeping checking accounts of your long dead grandfather open in order to pay for his tickets, instead of turning them in and getting the donation from someone on the waiting list is not my idea of Nebraksa. If that is the case people from here are greedy, and self centered, not the Nebraska I know, but again the people I respect wipe our asses with $20's. People on this site that think things should never change with football are keeping there head in the sand, lets just turn all of the tickets in a give them out every year based on who is the best fan (with out a doubt everyone here but me because I donate) that way we will be broke and never when a game, the best part is we are halfway there.... At least the stands will be filled with "true" fans

  20. As someone who hasent lived here for 3 genarations, I have to donate to get tickets. I dont have a problem with this, but I sit next to people that do not give at all. I understand that these people (or there parents) supported the team before we were great, but that was almost 40 years ago. I think the University is missing out on millions. If we are to stay at the very highest levels of play we need to have the money to compete. It gets old hearing people complain that donors get special treatment. I am sorry that I get a 5 dollar pizza party for my donation. Do any of you think the entire stadium should be re sat in order of donation (giving people who dont a chance to give). I know this would make people mad in the short term, but we would raise more money and keep ticket prices at the same level for years to come. Just to give some stats. Texas is over 105 million, Ohio State over 110 million (tops in NCAA), LSU over 70 million. Also keep in mind that we dont take any University funds, we need to maximize our money to ensure we have a future at the top. Just my thoughts
  21. See you in rumor ville with the rest best regards to Bo, and Devanys head in a jar
