  1. I really think we should get some sort of black jerseys. That would be cool. I better include this.
  2. Would disagree. Westerman is solid, a top 25, but so is Moore. Moore has faster feet than Westerman- speed can't be coached. Well, I'd hate to say I was right, but it happens so few times, I guess I will. However, I will say these rankings are both basically Scout rankings and I am not a real fan of Scout and their rankings. So for what it's worth. Moore in ESPN top 150 Scout has Westerman at currently the #13 overall 2011 player, and the #2 OT.
  3. It doesn't matter at all on the field. Moore will play the same whether he is given 5 stars or 2 stars. It doesn't change who he is. However, a 5 star can build hype and theoretically make for a more successful recruiting class as far as luring other talented recruits. I can buy that, although none of our previous 5* kids have made an impact on the recruiting trail. Maybe it will be different with 2 good o-linemen and a good QB on board early. However, recruits recruiting for us have back fired in the past. I'd agree but our recent 5 star recruits were a RB, a DL (I guess at the time he was DL/OL) and a DB. I'm hoping that a 5 star OL, a high 4 star OL, and a 4 star QB will convince running backs (Aaron Green?!) and wide receivers that all we need is THEIR help . . . we're set everywhere else. However, that's probably just me dreaming. fromm 2002 as far back as rivals shows their rankings we have had 5 : 2002-Demarrio Williams 2005-Zac Bowman, Marlon Lucky 2006-Andre Jones 2008-Baker Steinkuhler out of those, 3 were great as a husker, one is young and hasnt played much, and one was over hyped. i don't know if i'd call bowman "great" at NU, though he obviously had the potential to be. he was pretty good by the end of his first season (2005), then was never really healthy for us again. i'd say only demorrio and marlon lived up to the stars (though marlon's career might be more in line with expectations for a high four star). bowman was a solid contributor for parts of two seasons (started 9 games total) and jones also made a significant contribution, despite some obvious struggles (like never seeing a double move he wouldn't bite on). i'd give both a ranking of three stars, after the fact. too soon to call on baker, but the early returns look promising. I agree basically with dylan, but it was REALLY, REALLY hard for these guys to overcome the coaching they were getting!!!! I think Marlon did well, but think he could have done better now with a coach like Bo who would have pushed him harder. And there is NOOOOOOOOOOOOO doubt that Bowman and Jones would have been much better under the current system. The coaching those guys were getting was complete shiat!
  4. Per big red wrap up Keegan used to date Jamrog's niece for like 2 years. Not sure he still is or not, sounded like it was past tense, but I guess that's how he is linked and it came about.
  5. I think they always were in the East and West for quite awhile, and then the endzones were GA. But something tells me that there was some issues with that, you know, fights, etc. with people trying to fit too many people in a row and what not. So, I think they decided to go to all reserved to make things less tense and either you have a ticket for the seat or you don't. I can't remember the last spring game I went to for sure but it was GA in the endzones and the place was full. I think that got more people to the game because now people don't want to buy the row 90 tix, but then it was first come first serve so people bought a GA ticket and hoped to get there in time for a decent seat.
  6. Oh the recruiting was on the up and up. The UCLA staff is REALLY good and everyone wants to play for those guys, or so another poster on here told me a few posts back. Really, everything may have been on the up and up, but I have to say I'm very surprised Mama O would let her son go to fake and plastic L.A. and play for a slime ball like Ricky. It just really surprised me. I could see OSU being close to home, but if he was gonna go any distance at all out of state I thought NU would be more appealing with our midwest lifestyle and values.
  7. On 1620 USC they just said 41,000 tix sold already for spring game. SSSSSSWWWWWWEEEEEETTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Nobody going to the luncheon and the game like me? I think they said we will get tix in section 7 or 8, a buffet lunch, listen to TO, Bo, and others talk, and also a parking pass. Pretty good deal for $33.
  9. Bo never lets me down. You can't be much more straightforward than he was with that statement. No wonder we Nebraskans like the guy so much. Btw, he's going to work wonders with the guys we got this year 'cause they have talent & THEY WANT TO BE HERE. Could a coach ask for anything more? Bo, did you just start watching football today?! What do you mean it's his mistake? Are you saying UCLA isn't a good football program and that Rick is slick? You mean you think he lied to recruits when he told them he'd be there for their entire careers because he is always looking for bigger and better? Oh, not that, you think they'll be in trouble and on double secret probation within 2 years because of Ricky. I understand. I figured I just as well demean Bo's opinion since that seems like a popular thing today.
  10. C N Red...have you just started watching college football today? UCLA doesn't have any good coaches huh? Norm Chow is one of the best offensive coaches in college football hands down. Chuck Bullough is a hell of a defensive coordinator with NFL coaching experience to boot. I really don't understand when people come on a message board and whine about a 17 year old kid who decides to pick a university other than Nebraska. I guess some need the reality check! What has Chow really done? He was good at USC when they were winning championships but since then what has he proven except to jump around to different jobs? And Bullough has NFL experience?? Oh no, he MUST be great then, right? The problem is, what has UCLA done lately to prove to highly ranked recruits that they should come there because they are turning it around? Believe me, they are going there for L.A. and whatever BS Ricky told them, of which he will not hold his end up. I'm not so mad at Owa so much for choosing LA, as much as I am for him choosing UCLA. I don't believe he truly thinks he can be as good a football player there as he could at nebraska, or for that matter, florida, oklahoma, etc. I'm not whining about him, I am disappointed and feel sorry he may not live up to his potential as he could have at one of these other schools. What I find funny is when people come on a message board and ridicule someone else's opinions. Fine, don't agree with me, because I apparently don't agree with you either, but I'm not calling you out on your opinions. What are message boards for if not to post opinions, thoughts, and feelings??????
  11. This kid has the number 1 thing you want in a recruit and you can't teach, he's a winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I wish, but I will bet you not. Westerman is the stud O-lineman and he will be in top 10, but Moore I would say Top 50 somewhere.
  13. Unfortunate to see a guy of his promise waste it. UCLA doesn't have any good coaches, especially no good defensive coaches. It's unfortunate to see a guy like this waste his talent on a school that doesn't have the coaches he needs to make him the AA nebraska coaches would have. I hope he takes the academics seriously because he now has a better chance to make more money in a career with his diploma than he will with football. I just don't know how he hasn't seen this with UCLA and Slick Rick and all his BS promises. Also, if he is truly a humble guy he doesn't pick UCLA and Los Angeles!! I'm sorry, but with Slick Rick and his crap staff he has a better chance to be bound for mediocrity than glory. Anyway, I give Carnes much more props today than Owa. Why?? Because he decided to choose the "Hard Road." He didn't take the easy way out and go to a school where he could have started from day one and been the guy. But, he would have only been the guy at WKU and no one else would have ever heard of him. He decided to challenge himself and push himself to come to a school where he will have to compete and earn his spot. He also didn't give up on his dream, a dream of playing for a BCS MNC. This will be happening in the next few years, and he just might be the man leading us to it and throwing sweet fades to Cody Green in the endzone.
  14. Something tells me this is gonna end up feeling like the end of the CCG this year.
  15. Heard Owa just cancelled his ESPN announcement and will wait and decide over the next week or two. He is still just not sure where he wants to go and really wants to step back and go over everything again and weigh out everything accordingly. Heard this from "very reliable source." He is just a very deliberate young man and wants no doubt when he decides.
  16. I'll just have a hard time if Owa doesn't commit to us. The kid has sooooo much potential and I just hate seeing that potential and upside not get used to it's fullest. I just don't believe he will be as good a player as he could be and won't reach that all-american and eventual all-pro caliber without the correct coaching. I don't remember OSU putting out any good D-linemen ever. And, UCLA definitely hasn't for quite awhile. Also, with Slick Rick being there blowing a whole bunch of BS smoke up recruits asses, not only will that program will eventually get in trouble but his coaching potential will soon hit it's summit and his team will fall fast like it always has in the past.
  17. Uh, no. He may leave a little for the athletic department, but it's not gonna be huge. He will leave more for academics and the rest for charities.
  18. Def think this is a backup plan sort of thing. Not saying he isn't good, but I think if Cooper commits and we have trouble making room he will be a greyshirt. Something tells me Sanders has already talked to him about this. I'm sure they laid it out to the point of if there's room then you will get a scholly this year, but if not we would be more than happy to still offer you a greyshirt and you can come in next year. If he really wants to come to Nebraska, and if he wants to be with his bro, I'd say he will accept either.
  19. Agree. She is, however, dating Khiry Cooper and I don't care to fight him and his football boys for her. Minnesota_husker, I'm a huge vikings fan also. curious to see what your thoughts are on Favre after the game last night Really? I didn't see her as the type to have "Jungle Fever." But, great for that guy. If I was him I may not play baseball or football and spend all day with her. However, from her video on huskers.com she sounds very religious so he may be waiting awhile for the fun and developing a set of Dude, hold out! She seems to be worth it!
  20. Zac Lee. Why you ask? Simple, he has been the only QB that I've seen can at least run some of the offense and make half way decent passes. Hopefully after the surgery things will be better. Also, even if another QB starts over him he will be very important as the backup. So whether he starts or not, I think he will be needed next year.
  21. Cherry mash?? Those things are horrible. You have to do the Twin Bing!!! Those things are awesome, especially frozen. However, I think twin bings are made in Nebraska, so if you live outside the state they can be hard to find. Also, I'm not sure all this stuff is Owa saying it or not, but if it is I am a little disappointed because I thought he would be above things like this just hearing about his character and how he has handled himself previously in the process. Seems like he is being a little "diva-ish" IF these changes and stretching out the process are Owa's doing. JMHO.
  22. It's finally official!!! Owa is the next great Nebraska D-lineman. Owa is N!!!!! So says College Football recruiting guru Dave Hoff. Link: http://i9.tinypic.com/4gs1s8y.jpg
  23. She alone might be worth it for me to go watch the Husker girls play some ball. I'm kind of an old man, but some of the youngins on this board that go to UNL should be pushing hard to be her friend!! Her bio does say she has a 25 year old sister, that would definitely be in my 7 year age range. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=32&SPID=25&DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=1312849&Q_SEASON=2009
  24. Is it O.K. to post pics of ex-wives?? She's pretty good looking, but a f*&%ing bitch!
  25. This guy is coming to Nebraska!! He is 100% Lockish!
