  1. I see us being something similar to what Stanford runs. They are as efficient as they come, and we can pull in much more talent at the skill positions to win 1 v 1 that sometimes they don't have the ability to. Also Wisconsin does a good job of beating you any way they need to. Paul Chryst greatly influenced by Riley and this is where I see us going
  2. Hopefully Riley knew this was coming because if not that's a gut punch by Warren. I understand there's no history between the two but a guy shows you loyalty by keeping you on the staff as the only holdover and this is how you thank him?
  3. Mike Riley ‏@Coach_Riley 3m3 minutes ago Well #HuskersJustGotBetter!!! Go Big Red! #GBR
  4. From what I can tell, people who are negative about Mike Riley aren't really upset about Bo leaving. I for example am as negative as anybody else on this board, and I'm glad Bo was fired. Nebraska had a chance to make a statement with the hire and blew it. That's what I'm negative about. So how many championships have been won from a good press conference or impressive name hire? The point is WE DONT KNOW HOW THIS WILL WORK OUT. You can be upset you didn't get a name hire but I would like to know, who did you think was going to come to Nebraska, and please don't say Scott Frost because outside of Nebraska that would be like hiring a High school JV coach compared to Mike Riley
  5. I think actually they are playing in a big game on Monday...pizza party must be after. You can make fun of it, but it appears to work
  6. Very good article about how to coach kids without screaming and yelling. Can't help but think Mike Riley has the same approach towards teaching kids http://www.wsj.com/articles/oregon-college-footballs-kinder-gentler-team-1420663969
  7. Lol there it is... I'm confused, you disagree?
  8. Sounds like a solid get if Harbaugh wanted to take him with
  9. Michigan got their guy, and Nebraska got their guy. Nebraska has never been about being the one out in front and making a splash. It has been about putting your nose to the grindstone and working to get to the top. That's always been Nebraska and that's the way that we're going to return to the promised land. You are delusional if you think top notch coaches are dying to come here, they aren't. We have to accept that and go with someone who will work harder than someone else, who will do things better. That's what we are aiming for in Riley.

  11. Nothing surprising here. Just seems like another example of the previous regime making excuses and not owning their shortcomings. http://m.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/husker-offensive-coordinator-tim-beck-talks-philosophy-recruiting-weather-and/article_3efaa0a0-8579-11e4-946c-a7cbb9f4dd11.html?mode=jqm
  12. Looks like this guy can run, that's what we need
  13. OMG this argument again??? Just.. just.. make it stopSorry missed your credentials
  14. Man didn't know their were so many high leve D1 football coaches on this board to judge the worth of an assistant coach before he coaches 1 minute at a school with significantly more talent and resources. Only time will tell their worth, not your blind assumptions.
  15. Seems like this hire is a great opportunity for him. Maybe his first chance to get a legitimate shot at playing. We know the previous coaching staffs unwillingness to go away from someone they were loyal too. As you can see he seemed very excited about meeting coach Riley as he's seen waiting to shake his hand. I think this staff will give him the opportunity to grow as a quarterback and he is someone who I truly believe will flourish at Nebraska if he's given a fair shot.
  16. That's someone who is supposed to be a grown up after being in Bo's program?
  17. So how does anyone know what the outcome will be before he is even introduced? What was the reaction to Gary Anderson at Wisky?? Seems to have turned out well for them. Also, who says he's not bringing in Scott as OC and Assoc HC?? Just chill people and be fans of Nebraska. I have to admit, I didn't know what to think when Tim Miles was hired, but now that guy would be up for Blue Blood CBB jobs if they come open. RELAX!
  18. This looks legit right? I mean if not this guy is just putting himself out there to look like a fool
  19. One thing that is promising is the fact that he hasn't denied anything yet. Obviously he knows he's a story because his agent is getting phone calls from reporters, and ESPN anchors are linking his name to our job. This isn't something he isn't aware of and if he would want to squash it he would. I would think it would be unproductive for him or his agent to have to deal with it constantly
  20. You should have said: "Hey guys, I know a guy that said nebraska is running a HC search". because that's all you really said in that whole spout of garbage. Well at least we are looking at a D1 coach
  21. Nah. I wouldn't have any idea what you're talking about. On an unrelated note, is it weird to hit refresh every 2 minutes I'm not even joking?
  22. Eichorst must have been the man at hide and seek when he was a kid
