  1. Boosters always have their favorites, and are always in the ear of the AD to hire this guy or fire that guy. The constant chatter from the boosters doesn't stop, so to pin this termination on the boosters is not correct. Osborne fired Callahan, Anderson and Sadler. Those decisions are entirely owned by him, and him alone. Not the boosters.
  2. Weak, or commonplace? It's the single-most widely used "slam" on BB that I've seen. It's everywhere.
  3. Honest to entropy, I think this is exactly what some NFL scouts do.
  4. I see redtillimdead didn't serve as a sufficiently cautionary tale.
  5. Along the lines of The Dude's post up there ^^^ I would ask anyone who does think it's a choice: Do you sincerely think you could choose to be gay? Not just tolerate or become accustomed to sex with your same gender, but all the emotional attachment to someone of your gender that you feel for the opposite sex now. Could you choose to do that?
  6. LOL...you are leaning headlong into crazy if you think you can find "plenty" of kids that run a 4.3 40 and have a 40 inch vertical. Look at the combine numbers and tell me if the players fitting that criteria, after spending 3, 4 or 5 years in college strength and conditioning program, can run 4.3 and jump 40. Let's not quibble over ERN's use of the word "plenty." Say "several" or "a bunch" or whatever term you want to use. Say "five," if you think that's accurate - it doesn't matter, because that's not his point. ERN's point is that these measurables are largely irrelevant to the question of whether or not a guy can play football.
  7. Work proceeds apace on both the East Stadium and the Arena. They are moving right along with the ironwork here. I forgot to go to the south side and get a pic of the progress over there. Maybe next week. This shot is from atop the parking garage at 14th & Avery. Not sure it's very descriptive, but it's a different angle. The bowl of the arena is pretty much finished. Some internal structural work to take care of, and this thing will be encircled. Compare these to the pics I took on FEB 9th, and you'll see that they've made tremendous progress. Here are some pics from Huskers.com of the Arena model. Not sure if these have been posted here.
  8. Eh... they're actually about six- to seven-inches tall. I resized that pic and cleaned it up a bit. The original pic was really pixelated. You'd think UNL could afford better cameras.
  9. That's also a particularly problematic passage for the Vatican, who sits on immense wealth while the poor starve throughout the world. I have yet to hear any theological justification for this.
  10. Not only that, but the Linemen aren't even practicing. You can't play football without an O Line. We're clearly going 0-13 next year. Oy vey.
  11. Not much to report yet, as the guys just started. Here's a pic from Huskers.com:
  12. "That Sally Hemings is one fine piece o' fem-o-nine." - Thomas Jefferson
  13. I'm just glad we got that resolved. Everybody ready to move on from this conversation, which really doesn't have much of a point anyway? [privatemessage=husker_99] If it's any consolation, I agree that Carlfense is a *(#$R(%(#($. I've just never said it publicly. That guy is totally a menace. [/privatemessage]
  14. I can't name a single recruit we've lost because of Ron Brown's religious beliefs. I can name several off the top of my head that we've landed because of his beliefs, including Ameer Abdullah, a Muslim.
  15. Unless you've been a business owner prior to 1964, you have not had that right. And if you don't like the fact that the Feds wrote laws dictating that you had to give everyone an "equal opportunity," then you have only your fellow business-owners to blame, since their discriminatory practices were rampant enough to warrant the law. As you say, don't want to reap the negatives of the decision, then make a different decision. Hiring practices were atrocious prior to Title VII. They're still bad today for many businesses. That can all be traced directly to bad decisions made by business owners.
  16. Exactly. He stepped in it when he attempted to posture himself as representing the University. He's going to take flak for this, and he deserves it.
  17. Where, in any of this wall of text, do you get the idea that you have the ability to launch personal attacks at another member?
  18. The educated guess is that it was Auburn. Shatel addresses it here: LINK
  19. Sooooooo Religious people are not sinners? It's somewhat sad that that's what you took from that well-known verse. Yeesh.
  20. Then you might want to tell carlfense to stop his trolling. Unless you support trolling on this board? He isn't trolling, he's asking you some very simple questions. You are getting agitated, and you lashed out. Either continue the conversation or walk away. Acting like a child because you cannot get yourself out of the mess you've created doesn't give you an excuse to call people names. No more warnings.
  21. WHOA!!! There is no need for personal attacks. If you can't continue the conversation without calling someone a name, either take it to the Woodshed or walk away.
  22. No one, at any time, asserted this. This is what you would call a "straw man." yes you did cause i stated it clearly earlier if you had bothered to read, which it seems you now didn't. Show me where I stated that Obama was solely responsible for killing bin Laden. This thread is a grand total of four pages. It should take you all of 15 seconds to find my post stating that Obama "did it all by himself" or any variation of this. You and carlfense got intertwined and he started replying to something he had nothing to do with. I never said that you said that Obama was. OK then, show me where HE said that.

  24. Yep. Many of them were quite religious, and many were... not so religious.
