  1. If? Come now. This thread would have melted in the flames on Tigerboard had it been posted there. The fact that there are a dozen or more Tiger fans posting here right now telling us that Nebraska is going to lose this game should tell you that this is a more tolerant board. That perspective you're talking about, it's time for your shot. We drank ours.
  2. That's a good point about TigerBoard. But I have to say, TigerNuts is a pretty good egg. As eggs go.
  3. I have a friend from Crete. He doesn't live there anymore. He's an ex-Cretian. Get it? Excretion. It's my only Crete joke.
  4. Your 100% guarantee is 100% wrong. I was at that game and there was no applauding by the Cornhusker faithful at the end of the 2008 game. They cheered when NU scored on the last play of the game and then left. There was no applauding for the Missouri team when they left the field. Perhaps you missed it the first time. I'm not going to argue with you. I'll take the word of my parents over yours any day.
  5. What?!!! and break up the trifecta of awesomeness??? Never. We're taking Fro to the Big 10 with us.
  6. What kind of thug do we have at PK? Now Henery is threatening records? Why the threats? Can't we all just get along?
  7. Let's be sure we're keeping ALL of our comments focused on football, or the athlete, and not aiming them at this or that poster, OK? We do not allow conversations to get personal - it's in The Rules - so please let's not make me get out the Mod hat and start Modding all over the place. Nobody wants that. I don't want that.
  8. Have you seen any Omaha or Lincoln papers print something like this? Honestly curious, I haven't. That's a good point, our local papers are far above that kind of journalism. But it's still readily available from national outlets, and you can't watch any flavor of national news without some of this seeping in. I hold our local sportswriters, and most of our local print journalists in general, in the highest regard. Most of our local radio and TV broadcast folks are top notch as well. I was talking mainly about the kind of person who consumes that kind of media - and they're everywhere.
  9. That market is called America. Don't kid yourself that it's just CoMo. It's Lincoln, Des Moines, Wichita, Fargo, Little Rock, Stillwater, Dallas, Miami, Fresno, Seattle, etc, etc, etc.
  10. This is low-hanging fruit from this writer. There's a market for this like there's a market for McDonald's cheeseburgers. We all know it's crap, but most of us consume it anyway.
  11. Post missing? Check HERE. Let's leave this forum free for football discussions, mmkay?
  12. Funny how both Missouri and Nebraska have such quality kickers. It's not often guys like Ressel or Henery come along, and we both have them at the same time. I could see one of these guys winning the game Saturday.
  13. That is a great article. Lots of good reads on HuskerBoard today!
  14. Come on Cacti. This is Nebraska and Missouri we're talking about. It's not like Georgia or Clemson chicks. Do you really want to see that? Listen here, foreigners! We have some fine-looking ladies here in Nebraska. Apparently you haven't been walking around the stadium on a game day lately - it's a sight. This coming from Zac Lee's personal stalker... You cannot deny that Zac is a heck of a nice looking guy. Wait - wat!??!??

  16. Oh. My. God. I think I have to change myself. Perhaps the best article ever. Ever.
  17. I'm sure that happens yearly at their physicals, if not more often. They did a bit on the Sports Medicine folks on the last Pelini Show. We have a pretty impressive medical unit at the stadium. State-of-the-art stuff. Those athletes are well taken care of.
  18. You, sir, have crystallized my thoughts. I hope you enjoy the game Saturday - just a little less than I enjoy it.
  19. Yeah, I think "The Pinkel Factor" thing has run its course. He was clearly learning on the job a few years back, but I can't remember a single game in the past few years I can look back on and say, "Pinkel lost them that game." Not since the Brad Smith years, I think.
  20. Saying you hate someone and actually factually hating them are two different things. I can say I "hate" Missouri, but there isn't a player on their roster I wouldn't donate a kidney to if he needed it.
  21. If you need further evidence that the timing of this suspension and subsequent mud-slinging against Nebraska is not an accident, check out the video below. Pay special attention to the hit at :43 by our Mr. Martin. This hit took place last season, when the rule that allowed Martin's suspension was in effect: That hit, celebrated by all, commemorated in this video, witnessed by tens of thousands including the Big XII front office, resulted in no penalty, no suspension. Of course, Nebraska hadn't announced they were leaving for the Big 10 when this hit took place.
  22. It is not exactly a hit I would want to show as an example of a helmet to helmet illegal hit. This hit happens all the time, you could watch it in a pop warner game. Keep your head on a swivel!!! Exactly. This is why the people wringing their hands over it, from the TV announcers on down to regular football fans, have lost their minds. Martin's hit was very hard, but it was not illegal. The TV guys overreacted to it, the League overreacted to it, and so have others. It's like they've never watched football before - and FOR SURE it's like they've never watched Eric Martin before. The guy has been hitting like this throughout his career at Nebraska - it's just now the League decides he must be punished.
  23. The Cubs fan in me says, "Wait til next year."
  24. I call BS. I live out of Nebraska and work with mostly Nebraska haters. I should the clip to a number of them and asked, "was this a clean, hard it, or was it an illegal hit or a cheap shot." every single person said it was a clean hard hit and that the guy should have been paying attention. Which clip did you show? As has already been pointed out in this (and other) threads, there is an angle that makes it look like a clean hit. The one where the OSU player's back is to the camera. Every clip I've seen shows Martin leading with his shoulder with incidental contact with the helmet. Every clip.
