I've had the steroid conversation at a baseball forum (not here) about 100 times. I'm done with it. The genie's out of the bottle, and it's not going back in.

I think everyone's had enough of the steroid accusations to last a lifetime, hence the reaction to that statement. Sure, there were rampant steroids being used by NU and pretty much every other school back then. There most likely isn't a campus in America today without one dirty football player, let alone several. Bottom line - we weren't guilty of anything everyone else wasn't guilty of, so pointing that out is a non sequitur.

Everyone's pretty much aware of this, the point is that it would go along with being a "full" member of the Big 10 to be fully vested in everything, including the CIC.

I'd like a second source for this, but I haven't found one despite checking every 30 minutes or so since this was posted.

There's been talk of it being a "bad break," so who knows what that could do to him. And they're already talking about a medical redshirt being just about guaranteed.

zoogies is most likely basing that off of TMart's Spring Game, which was pretty impressive. And I'm sure he knows all about the long list of Spring Game stars who have fallen by the wayside during the season, but it's still a fair point.

But now they test for steroids... I guess that's a point that needed to be made.

We had large, athletic linemen. It's a minor thing, but something I noticed.

FYP = Fixed Your Post Basically they're saying, "You should have said this." Which always made me wonder, if that's what you feel, why don't YOU say that and let the person have their say their way? Posts don't need fixing. New points need to be made. FYP is annoying.

I got a kick out of this. Seems that boring old offense we used to run - and used to get mocked for running in the "modern" era - is now all the rage. So much so that Stewart Mandel and Andy Staples wrote a blurb about it in their latest project: It's funny how people still don't seem to get what Osborne was doing, though. Claiming that the Option offense eliminates the need for "athletic" linemen is absurd. Other than that, I thought this was pretty entertaining.

Just be careful when pushing the water that you're balancing it out with electrolytes. Gatorade is a good idea to mix in with the water. A guy from the office had to go into the hospital because he OD'd on water a few weeks ago. Water is good, but you can overdo it. Be careful.

Not saying this isn't true, but Jack Mitchell isn't exactly a trusted source on news like this. EDIT - not to mention that UNL has been accepted as a full member of the CIC beginning July 1, 2011. It would be surprising that the Big 10 wouldn't bring us in as a fully vested member from the get-go. As for the fee, while I think there are grounds for Nebraska to pay nothing, I can see us paying a reduced fee just to cut ties and be done with it.

Exactly. Frankly, I can see us losing to several teams on our schedule. We haven't yet shown we're over those mental lapses that plagued us the past several seasons. With parity, there's hardly any time for a let-down. The only games I can guarantee without question that we'll win are SDSU and W. Kentucky. I think we'll win most every game, but they have to prove to me that they're not going to have another ISU brain spasm before I get too cocky.

No, that was a couple of games before this. Phillips was suspended following Michigan State, the second game of the season. Wazzoo was the fifth game.
