  1. Show of hands - who thinks the cake is a lie?
  2. 1) I don't make typos when I post. 2) I root for the Huskers 3) I work almost in the shadow of Memorial Stadium
  3. Yeah, I wonder about this. I like Mike and all, but he seems to be mailing it in this season. I'd rather they end this show and he moves on to something else than run it into the ground. ____________________________________________ EDIT - I finally went with Mythbusters. It's the longest-running show on Discovery that I watch, and it's still a lot of fun. I probably would have gone with Storm Chasers as that's a heck of a show, but their full season is only 8 episodes, and that's too few IMO. Here's hoping they have enough material to run a full 22 episodes this year.
  4. What Castille thing? Are you saying something happened to Q? I noticed he didn't play much this year. Oh, man. I've got a bad feeling about this.
  5. I'd like to see Helu fully healthy for a season. I'm betting they split carries almost evenly to keep Roy fresh. When he's healthy and on his game he's a force, no doubt. It's just that he doesn't stay healthy for a full season. Burkhead is a real weapon, and he's tough. I'd be amazed if anyone stepped in front of him for PT, other than a healthy Helu.
  6. We'll see what happens. I can't see how this is a good move for Texas. If I'm the Big 10 I'm ecstatic they're talking to me about it, but I just don't ever see it happening. Texas has a really sweet setup here in the Big XII. FYI - there's already a thread about this in the Big 12 section of the forum. I'll be merging this with that in a while...
  7. I haven't voted yet, either. For me it's between (in no particular order): Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs and Storm Chasers. We only DVR about six shows, and these three are on the list. I may have to flip a coin.
  8. You betcha. Yori is one heck of a coach.
  9. The title is pretty self-explanatory. What's your favorite show? Discuss.
  10. This show bugged me. This is some crack commando unit from the 'Nam, but they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a bullet or an improvised gun of any kind.
  11. Can't find a video I can post here, but I'm listening to For Love Not Lisa right now.
  12. A Texas conference would make sense. But going to the Big 10 makes more sense for the Big 10 than for Texas. They have all the money in the world already, and they already have a more than equitable share of TV revenue from the Big XII. The Big 10 would force them into a revenue sharing plan that would cut into their income. I don't see that happening.
  13. I cannot fathom how this would make sense for Texas. None at all. LINK
  14. We lost epocSoN to graduation this year. Gotta keep that pipeline stocked.
  15. Now that I have to pay attention to this thread because of Mod duties, I humbly beg you guys to post something interesting instead of "I win." The win is implied, of course, so saying you win is redundant. Post something unique about your area you live in. Tell us about the first girl (or guy) you had a crush on. Tell us about your first car. Tell us where you post from, desk, office, laptop at the school library... whatever. Just anything aside from various forms of "win." Stuff I would post would be: "Moby Dick is wildly overrated." "I haven't seen the stars more than five times since Christmas." "I went to the Mannheim Steamroller concert on 12/22. It was awesome and I sat in the same row as Chip Davis."
  16. By what measuring stick are we judging this ranking, though? By top ten teams from the last time we were ranked around the top ten or top ten teams of the last few years? If it's based on past recollections of top ten teams, no, we don't qualify. but the "New Top Ten" - that we probably qualify for. In the New Top Ten, parity has made such a ranking nebulous at best. All teams have at least one flashy player, and all teams have flaws. On any given Saturday those flaws could come up to bite a New Top Ten team, and they could plummet from glory quite quickly. Nebraska circa 2009 was perhaps more flawed than most top ten teams, but certainly on defense we outshined most of the year's top ten teams. 2010 Nebraska has solid reasons to believe that we'll be decent-to-very-good on defense, and with ten starters returning on offense, plus added O Line depth, there's every reason to believe we'll be better on offense. Does that necessarily mean we belong in the top ten? Of course not. But do we qualify as much as anyone else for the New Top Ten? I believe so.
