  1. I love a man who doesn't mind repeating himself. And no, Colorado isn't our rival any more than Missouri or Iowa State. We should get up for them and beat their butts, but let's not feed into the fallacy that they are anywhere near our level.
  2. Can you guys just copypasta the code for the jump to drop-down and add another one to the top of the page? That way we don't have to scroll down to the bottom to jump forums.
  3. How about we stage a sit-in at Huskerboard world headquarters until they cave in to our demands? We'll bring these guys to their knees! Power to the people!!!!11!!
  4. i am going to disagree. Zac rarely hits a deep, open WR in stride (i can think of a few exceptions). most of the time people overlook this because the ball is caught for a substantial gain (but there is no run after the catch). however, if he puts those balls on the money and hits the WRs in stride, then it is 6 points. prime example saturday night. he had NP open deep but he severely underthrew the ball forcing niles to stop, wait for the ball (and the defender). NP caught it (was tackled immediately) and it went for a big gain, but had the ball been thrown so as to hit NP in stride, he would have walked into the end zone. i am not spreading negativity, just pointing something out that i feel is overlooked because of the circumstances (ball is caught for a substantial gain). at this point, i'll take it, but if we want to be among the elites of CFB, we need to hit those for TDs. That ball was WAY underthrown. On the other side of the token, he badly overthrew the Tight End in the end zone during the first drive of the game (I know it wasn't a long ball, but it was decently far). I don't want to spread negativity either, but I just can't ever see Lee being a big game QB with his erratic throws/decision-making. He takes some BIG hits (especially in that K-State game) and I'll give him everything that he deserves for that, but unless we're playing Ark. State, I just don't feel comfortable putting the game in his hands. Agree with these comments about Lee. Look at how he throws - it's almost always off his back foot, and he puts a LOT of air under the ball. He consistently over- or under-throws receivers, so even if they are open, it's a risky throw. A competent defense picks off that long pass to Paul. We won't get away with that against Texas or USC/LSU. I've been saying we should start Lee all season, and I stand by that (because Green is not ready to lead this team), but he's not without blemish. Having said that, you can't help but be impressed with Lee's toughness. He took some really solid shots this weekend and got right back up. Did the same against Oklahoma. The guy is a gamer, and I'm glad to have him, blemishes and all.
  5. Completely disagree. If we keep throwing the long pass to Paul it'll force the DBs to respect that, or at least the chance that it'll happen, and that'll help the running game. If Gilleylen could catch consistently I'd throw him a ball or two every half as well. Speaking of Gilly, did anyone else notice Meno Holt in the game when McNeill caught his TD? Holt was the first guy over there to congratulate him. It would be great to see Holt wake up and be productive.
  6. Look what happened to Kansas when they had a chance to beat Texas in 2005. A phantom Offensive Pass Interference call that cost them the game. Totally agree with this. There will be as many missed calls in Texas' favor in the CCG as went in our favor vs. KSU. Presuming the 'Horns take care of TAMU, they'll be in line for a shot at the title, and there's no way the Big XII is going to let some three-loss upstart take their title shot away. Of course, that's presuming we keep it close. We could have another Texas Tech on our hands.
  7. Weird article. It seems to imply that Bo wouldn't be having success without Callahan's players. It's an argument you can't make for another couple of years, until all of Callahan's recruits are gone. At the very best, this article is a season or two premature. At worst, it's nonsense.
  8. Anyone ever heard of the Wishbone? What's being proposed here isn't too far from that offense. Here's a basic Wishbone: We could axe one of the WR and put in a TE and have one hell of an option attack. But then that's not far off from the current Spread formation, which just uses one more WR instead of another RB: Bottom line - any offense we choose will be fine if we have the right personnel and we execute it well.
  9. I'm thinking we used up all the good feelings the pollsters were willing to give us when we lost at home to Iowa State. After that game they're really looking for us to show them something, not playing with teams like Kansas and KSU late into the game. They don't know much about us, except that the North is weak and we've lost to ISU. That's enough to burn bridges with those pollsters.
  10. I don't speak babble. Translation?
  11. Apparently it is ok to be mediocre and stay that way. These people should have been happy with BC! If there was an award for missing the point, you two would be neck and neck.
  12. Niles isn't anywhere close to where he needs to be to go to the NFL. WR is one of the most heavily-populated spots on NFL rosters. Leaving early would guarantee Niles a place on the bench or scout team, IF (and that's a big if) he gets signed.
  13. They can't apply for the redshirt until after the season is over. The answer is "we don't know yet" but it seems likely that he will be back.
  14. I would agree that the zebras were horrible last night, and more often than not KSU got screwed by the calls. I saw a few holds by our line they didn't call, one where Hickman grabbed a guy and spun a 360 before tossing the guy down. Blatant, but no flag. The DPI on the pass to Paul was questionable. The hit on Lee as he went out of bounds is understandable knowing how they've been protecting QBs all season. I get that call, but Lee was not yet out of bounds. I would like to know how they call holding on Crick (and he was) yet they don't call holding on the KSU line who was doing the same thing as Crick all game long. There were more holding calls against our opponent than in previous games, but there was a LOT of holding. KSU Board - I cruised through a couple of threads on KSUfans.com, and Classless Nancy's is an understatement.
  15. Since we're already ranked in the Coach's poll, I presumed we were talking about the AP, where Stanford is 14th. I'm just guessing they'll still have some residual glow from beating USC and won't drop too far. Who knows. I've been wrong before.
  16. Stanford is too high up to affect us. I'm betting they're still ranked higher than us tomorrow.
  17. Definitely. Rutgers and Wisconsin lost, and we should make it in at about 24.
  18. What an Uninspiring Thread Yay. Another thread griping after a victory. Yippee. Seriously - this is another frustrating thread to read. I don't know if it's the writing or the topic or the poster, but goodness, this is not a good thread at all. Sorry to be a sour-puss, but this was a pretty unsatisfying read. Is there anything that can be done in the next two weeks to help this thread? Otherwise, we are going to have to read drivel like this over and over, or something along those lines.
  19. Just saw this on the 10/11 Strong website:
  20. Right, but we'll already be there in two weeks. We'll cover more ground playing in a different bowl. Bottom line, though - let's just play in a bowl game. And do well.
  21. There's a recruiting angle to think of, too. We'll get Texas exposure by playing in the Big XII Championship. Playing the Holiday Bowl gets us more pub in SoCal, home of many four- and five-star recruits.
  22. The Cotton is still on the table for us, but I think the Holiday is more likely. I'd like to play LSU. I like their fans and there's a history with Bo, of course. Not to mention I think we are undefeated against LSU in bowl games. That's nice.
