  1. Go the I Formation, get a fullback, some olineman who can block and put Green in the rest of the year. While you're at it get rid of that two color green field. I'd take a Matt Davison over any of these recievers as well. Go back to the power I with SOME option.
  2. We have 10 carries for 12 yards?? Thats not going to cut it.

    WTF!

I was watching it on ESPN360 but now that stopped.
  4. Why do we always get off to such a slow start vs decent teams??
  5. Yeah, it looks like he might be down. Good thing it did not determine the outcome of the game. I agree about NU not running the clock out the possession prior to this. At times the Huskers seem unable or even unwilling to try and punch out some tough yards.
  6. Suh could end up as one of the best. Right now I would still go with Rich Glover. 7. Welcome! This is the best NU board. Very low % of jerks on this one!!

    FYI

I've made some progress on this website. Of particular interest might be the section on walk-ons, 1997 Nebraska/Michigan and 1994 Nebraska/Penn State. If your screen is smaller than 17in. you might have some problems with the display and need to zoom out or reduce print size. I'm just a poor old farm boy from Nebraska, so don't be to cruel. Link
  10. Thanks that would be great, but if you can't make it no problem.
  11. And in the '70s, except the I back would go the the slot (yes, TO ran 4 wide receivers), and the dump pass after a fake would be to the full back. BTW I REALLY miss the inside reverse trap to the short slot, Johnny Rodgers ran it so well. Yeah that inside reverse to Rodgers was great. Also miss the flea flicker, where the QB would hand off to the i-back, almost like a draw. He would run up to the line of scrimmage and then flip it back to the QB who would fire it down field. And yes, some of you might not believe it but T.O. did have multiple wide outs and NU threw the ball all over the place in the early to mid 70s, led the Big 8 in passing a few years I believe.
  12. Is anyone going to the Spring Game that could take a photo of the NW corner tower that has the inscription saying = "Courage; Generosity; Fairness; Honor; In these are the true awards of manly sport." I have a website with the other 3 and would like the 4th.. I now live in Idaho and its a bit to far to make it back. Website
  13. I'm going to limit this to games. In no particular order. 1. Loss to Miami in Orange Bowl after 1983 season. That was a GREAT team, just a little short on defense, playing in the sandbox in neutral Miami Florida, didn't help. 2. Loss to Alabama in Orange Bowl following 1965 season. That would have given Devaney a NC in his 4th year. 3. T.O. going 1-8 vs Oklahoma in his first 8 seasons. 4. Loss to Mizzu after finally beating Oklahoma in 1978 5. Loss to FSU in Orange Bowl after 1993 season. 6. Loss to Penn St. in 1982. NU should have been undefeated NCs in 82 & 83. I know thats more than 5, better quit there are more but am getting all worked up now. 1998 loss to Texas that ended home win streak. argh, now I feel like drinking.
  14. Frazier was a very good/great QB for NU on some great teams. But I would have to pick Young. No way Texas is NC without him. 95 NU would have been with Brook or probably even Matt Turman at QB. He missed most of 94 so he wasn't the one that led NU to the game vs Miami, although they might not have won the Orange Bowl without him. Young didn't even play his senior year. Better passer and just as good a runner. People overlook Jerry Tagge at NU as well. The NCAA record book lists him at 24-1-1 as a starter. NU won 2 NCs with him at QB and he was voted the most valuable back in both NC games. Tagge Bio
  15. I know Johnny Rogers is already on the team at another position. But he was the best. IMO the most exciting college football player ever.
  16. If Jerry Murtaugh doesn't win this, then God forgive you. Murtaugh Bio Murtaugh Video
  17. Moved to N. Idaho couple years ago. Always where a Nebraska hat and quite often will run into someone from the homeland.
  18. I think I remember reading that the Big 12 Conference already had the copyright to the phrase Big 14. Adding OU and Okie State to the North sounds good to me.
  19. Since most people are to young to remember Willie Harper, I will add some info. Hope that is ok. If not beat me. 1972 Washington D.C. Pigskin Club Defensive Player of the Year 1972 & 71 First-Team All-American 1972 & 71 First-Team All-Big 8 1970 Honorable Mention All-American 1970 Orange Bowl Outstanding Lineman Played 10 + years in the NFL
  20. If they made All American, you might find a bio of them at the UNL site All Americans
  21. WORD! My sentiments exactly! Macovicka's were walkon's from 8 man football and I think Schlessinger was also. Why do we have to WASTE ships recruiting FBs when we will be in a 3 wide spread much of the time? I think Frazier was more of a LEADER, than a difference maker like Crouch, whom I think wasn't a great LEADER, but a superior athlete. Frost was a PERFECT NU QB, that just needed time in the system. Crouch had more speed, but Frost and Frazier were more powerful, and Crouch did not benefit from a GREAT I-back like Frost and Frazier. McBride attacks UT in Austin in 99 and that is a MNC and Solich is still at NU! note that NU also emphacised squats and power cleans more than BP. BP is the big emphasis for passing teams. I do think they did 3 rep maxes? The SYSTEM spoke, it seems like Florida is the NEW Big Red with a great defense and option attack from the gun and a strong inside games using zone, trap and counter blocking schemes. I think that NU could run an offense with a power I and a spread combo, like UT 2005. The spread has increased the VALUE of dual threat QBs and opened up the passing game, while still giving defenses the same headaches the option has always caused. IMO, Nebraska needs three things as far as players. (in no particular order) 1. Every recruit in Nebraska that can play major college ball or be developed to play at that level 2. Recruit top players from around the country that will fit into NU's system 3. Walk-ons. Its a win - win situation with walk ons. They have filled the gaps where recruits did not work out, outplayed/and or pushed recruits to be better players. There were some teams under Osborne that close to half the starters came to NU as walk ons.
  22. Thanks a bunch, mind if I add them to a website?? I'll give you credit as the source. Yeah, go ahead Thanks and done (page 2 and 3 in this section) Page 2

  25. In an old media guide Dana Stephenson is listed as a cornerback
