  1. All I can say is good thing he leaves after this season. I am getting to old for his nonsense, I about have a freaking heart attack every time he touches the ball. When he has the ball I swear my heart stops until the play is over.
  2. . True, but I can make a case that our schedule is rough in name only. 1. At Wisconsin-yes, this is a scary one. This is one that could go either way. 2. Ohio St.-I am sorry, they are a paper tiger. They remind me of the Huskers of the mid to late 80's and the early 90's. Plus we have them at home. I really like our chances. 3. at Minnesota-WIN!!! Doesn't Cos coach their D, nuff said. 4. Michigan St. WIN!!! They are a pretender, plus they melt down mid season every year. 5. Northwestern-WIN!!! they just aren't that great. 6. at Penn. St-another one that can go either way, but they are very up and down. 7. at Michigan-Win!!! I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait to see the Huskers in the Big House!!! Having said that, oh my god their D SUCKS!!! Does Cos secretly coach them two? We will out score them. 8. Iowa-Win!!! I think they are a paper tiger as well, plus, don't they lose a lot of key people to graduation? We also have them at home. 9. Hopefully we play in the first Big 10 championship game. Looking at our division are chances a very good. What sucks is we could play Ohio St. or Penn St. a second time. This is just my feeling on next years schedule. Teams like Michigan a big in name only right now and just aren't really back yet. Yes we could have a couple of losses next year, but we could also do very well and take the Big 10 by surprise. Even with only one or two losses, we still have a very successful 1st season in the Big 10.
  3. Don't paint us all with that brush. I thought it was fairly obvious where we were headed during and after the 04' Texas Tech game. There were a lot of posters back then that felt the same way. Unfortunately, they don't post here anymore and haven't for a few years. Not trying to paint anyone with a brush here. I thought it was fairly obvious we were going to start contending for championships back in '07, so I'm one of those guys that got too excited. Just saying that even with good names on the roster and promise, a variety of things could happen. If we follow this season up with 4-5 seasons of 8-10 wins, I think people right now would consider that a failure and start calling for Bo's head, which I think is unreasonable... Of course, I don't suspect we will be headed for a 5-7 collapse either. But that 2011 team could very well win 7 games (or 11). Patience for the staff and the players, in either case. We gotta be careful about saying how loaded we are gonna be next year. Despite the talent we have coming back next year, think of all the talent we are LOSING. On offense we lose Paul despite his case of "stonehands" he is one of our home run threats, along with Helu who is our best playmaker out their besides Martinez. Quincy E and Jean Bapiste have great upside but Quincy is only one that has seen the field, which was pretty rarely so far. IMO on offense next year I think Martinez and Reed are gonna be our biggest playmakers. On defense, Prince, Hagg, Gomes, Allen, are all gone after this year. Those guys absolute ballers out their. I dont think we have the depth or experience yet to just come in and replace those guys without missing a stride. Guys like Cooper havent even seen the field and we as fans expect him to just come in and light it up next year??? Pelini is awesome at DEVELOPING talent, we need to patience. Remember we go to the BIGTEN next year, we will have toughest schedule in america, reasonably we cant expect more than 9 or 10 win season. Oh did I mention, we lose our kicker/punter and kickoff specialist. You mean the same Big 10 who usually gets killed in bowl games (last year was an exception). Who outside of itself gets crushed by faster teams. The same Big 10 who we have a 8-1 record against over the last 15yrs (the only top tier teams we didn't play are Ohio St and Wisconsin.) I am sorry, but I just don't get this fear people have of the Big 10. They usually are a weaker conference compared to the Big 12 or SEC. So many posters on here have stated through the years how OVERRATED the Big 10 is, yet now all of the sudden they are afraid of them . Yes they a big (and slow), yes they are physical, but so are the Huskers, Bo has gotten us back to physical football. Plus, speed kills and we have tons of that. We may not win the MNC next year, but I think the Big 10 is in for a surprise.
  4. Lets look at history shall we. Over the last 15yrs we have played 9 games against Big 10 teams. 3 against Mich. St, 2 against Penn. St, 2 against Iowa, 1 against Michigan and 1 against Northwestern (also played two against the other should be Big 10 team Notre Dame.) We only lost ONE time against Penn St. in Happy Valley. One of those wins was during the Clownahan era when we weren't at our best and Michigan on paper was better than us. In most of those games we destroyed them. I don't feel the original post is valid, back in the 80's and early 90's we were big, physical and slow. The smaller faster teams would kill us practically every time. See the 7 straight bowl losses we had those days if you don't believe me. It was only when Osbourne finally decided to switch his D to a smaller faster one and recruit SPEED, (and stayed very physical) that we really exploded on the scene in the mid 90's. Bo is quickly getting us back to the glory days and based on recent history we have owned the Big 10 mightily. With last years Bowl season being one of the few exceptions, the Big 10 usually gets murdered during the Bowl season because they are big and slow. They go up against much faster teams and get creamed (several of which we at the hands of the Huskers, see Northwestern in 2000, Mich. St in 03 and Michigan in 05.) Yes, next years schedule is a tough one, but I think it's the Big 10 that is in for a surprise and this is based on what we have seen us do to them on the field. We are back in the Top 10, have a very good shot at winning the conference on the way out and even though it is a long shot, we are even being talked about when it comes to the MNC. With it not even being three years removed from the 07 disaster, I really like our chances. Especially were Bo has this program and what our future holds in the Big 10.
  5. Granted, we may not be a MNC team, but there is still a lot of football left to be played. Many people earlier in the year thought Alabama was unstoppable and look were they are at. We are still only a one loss team and in the Top 10. With only being not quite three full season's into Bo's tenure, I'll take it. Hey, we won today with a running back playing quarterback almost half of the game. What more do you guys want?
  6. My hat goes off to Iowa St. you guys played one hell of a game, BUT!!! We had a RUNNING BACK playing quarterback almost half of the game and you guys still couldn't beat us. There isn't much more that can be said is there. Niles Paul must secretly be a Cyclone fan, I mean seriously, he tries to give them the game every time. Cy, you are a great guy and I am sure I speak for most on this board that we would love to see you stick around.
  7. Bo said during the post game conference that Lee was "Day to Day." If he is out, they are not talking. Supposedly it is just a soar arm?
  8. I just wanted to say your sig is AWESOME!!! :corndance :corndance
  9. Well, two top ten teams lost today (so far). I have to agree that 11th/10th is a pretty safe bet.
  10. Bingo. Oregon is looking pretty lost right now.... Down to USC 32-29, and USC's got all the Mo. You know, the BIGGG MO... momentum. As Corso would say. If USC can close out, that would be very nice. Weird to cheer for them... but, whatever. I think a one loss NU team is more attractive to the BCS than undefeated TCU/BSU/Utah. Play some good teams, then we'll talk. Auburn and Alabama have yet to play each other, so one of those teams will get a loss. What'd be sweet is if one of them beat the other in the regular season, and then that loser goes on to win the SEC. In that scenario, we'd have a one loss SEC team and a one loss Oregon. The mere face that OU is still ranked ninth is a joke. They are not that good. We'll have our chance to do something about that if they win the South... over Baylor. I lol at saying that. Never mind, Oregon is pulling away fast. Now back to your regular scheduled program.
  11. Please tell me you are joking!!! We will kill the Clones ( sorry Cy )next week. After last years disaster in Lincoln, I almost feel sorry for what this team is going to do to Iowa St.
  12. Bebe is a douche bag!!! He has it out for Nebraska, even Matt Davidson was talking about this on 1110. I better watch what I say, I might get suspended if BeeBo finds out. Guess what, I am pretty sure who we won't be playing if we go to the Big 12 Champ game (Texas ).
  13. The North is ours to lose!!! I still can't believe we lost to Texas, oh well.
  14. Hey, it's all in good fun. Let's enjoy this one, we just got the top ten (haven't beaten in years) monkey off of our back. :w00t
  15. Sorry, I couldn't resist!!! :bonesflag: :bonesflag:
  16. Also, and I don't think this has been mentioned, to those who seem to want to throw in the towel before next weeks game is played. Mizzu's offense isn't even close to Okie St.'s. Mizzu's D may be better, but I still think they are overrated. I guess that is why we still actually play the game. Oh yeah, I still can't believe we lost to Texas. Iowa St!!! are you kidding me!!! I swear Texas has some voodoo curse on us.
  17. After watching both our game and OU's today, I am not sure OU will win the South. Okie St. is legit and could take the South this year. If we win out, we may face them again in the Big 12 championship.
  18. It's definitely possible....Okie St's offense is ridiculous... And, I am not sure I want to play them again. Once is enough, their offense is just insane.
  19. Good grief, we just bounced back from a very disappointing loss, played probably one of the best offenses in the country and WON!!! Okie St. was going to score on us and often, they are ridiculously talented, news flash, we outscored them. Mizzu and Oklahoma are both highly overrated, I can think of several teams that would beat them both. Yes, our run D isn't the best, but the rest of our D is damn good!!! Some of you need to stop being a bunch of girls. The Huskers adjusted well in the 2nd half of today's game and started to really shut Okie St. down. If we keep Mizzu one dimensional, we will win. I seem to remember last year when a lot of us thought Oklahoma (including myself) was going to KILL us and look what happened. We just beat a very good team, a better one than Mizzu, I would say. ENJOY IT!!! I will go out on a limb here and say that Okie St. could probably beat OU this year. We could see them again in the Big 12 championship if we both win out. It's possible.
  20. Unfortunately, we probably won't face a top ten team until (HOPEFULLY) we face OU in the Big 12 Championship game. That will be like the days of old, would be great to see both of us in the Top 10, fighting for the conference championship. What a way that will be to leave the Big 12. Still some good teams ahead though. Mizzu and CU are looking decent, also, Oke lite will be good. Right now the Pelini's will have them ready for Texas. Next Saturday at Memorial Stadium is going to be just freaking nuts!!!
  21. Well, that is ONE down on the farewell tour. Who's next? OH YEAH Let's hang 50 on those clowns!!! tastes GOOD!!!
  22. WOW, we are one scary football team!!! And now back to your regularly scheduled butt kicking already in progress. :horns2
