What about the Omaha Nighthawks?

After seeing them vs K-ST, I think he probably CAN start right away! Very doubtful. Prince missed fall camp due to injury, which explains a lot of the rust and inconsistency you saw vs K-St. But the WRs didn't do Prince any favors with all of their drops and it certainly didn't help that the O-line was decimated with injuries during camp. The main problem, however, was the run D. Hundley reminds me a lot of Josh Freeman. This is a big get for the Bruins. There is no way UCLA should have lost to KSU if you go by the recruiting rankings. 4 out of the last 5 recruiting classes for UCLA have been ranked in the top 20. KSU hasn't had a top 25 class in their last 5 and 3 out of these have been outside of the top 40. I'm not sure that there is such a thing as a huge get for UCLA as long as Neuheisel is coach, as I just don't see him doing much with whatever talent they bring on board. Obviously UCLA shouldn't have lost to KSU if you go by recruiting rankings, but that's not what I said. I was responding to the notion that Hundley picked UCLA after seeing the KSU game because he was convinced he could start right away. I was just pointing out that what you saw from Prince in that game very likely won't be a good reflection of how he will look later in the season after he knocks off the rust that other QBs did during fall camp. Prince is a good QB who will probably start as long as he's at UCLA and healthy. Hundley will also certainly redshirt next year, not start. And yes, this is a big get for the Bruins considering they badly needed a QB in this class after Brett Nottingham decommitted for Stanford late in the process last year. And they got a very good QB who was offered by a bunch of good programs, including Nebraska. Rick might not be the coach in four years, but Hundley will be the QB. And that's a good thing.

So is "permanently suspended" the same as kicked off the team? If so, then this would be an unbelievable series of consequences for one terrible decision. Washington might go from being poised for a career year that will see him become a legit NFL prospect to being kicked off the team and maybe out of school. Maybe he could play for the Omaha Nighthawks when his trial/sentence is over.

Initially, is was an accusation, then the girl failed to show up for a hearing. I would have thought that meant 'probably not for real'. But when the police and prosecutors bring to light more details, than the suspension occurred. Either way, it seems like we've seen the last of Derrick. Washington has now been charged with sexual assault, per ESPN. What's surprising to me is that Pinkel still named him one of the team captains in July AFTER this happened. Maybe he was just going on the assumption that he was innocent. But if that's the case, then why did Pinkel suspend him before he was charged? Strange stuff. I just hope justice is served, whether he's innocent or guilty.

Maybe. But "indefinitely" = before Big 12 play. I'd bet money on it. he has sat players for league play before, and seeing as though this issues has the possibility of charges being brought, he will most likely sit till its resolved. For all the things NE fans claim GP is, soft on team discipline can not be one of them Has he ever had to sit someone with this much potential and expectations riding in to a season though? GP is a tough disciplinarian, but MU has doesn't have much experience behind him. Do you think he'd keep Washington out that long, even if rushing the ball isn't priority number one for MU? As I pointed out earlier on this thread, GP doesn't have a choice if charges are filed. MU policy is that a player can't play if under felony charges until they have been fully adjudicated. That could take some time. Once the case has been adjudicated (or if charges are never filed), then it will be GP's decision.

I just heard on 1620 (USC) that Missouri policy is that a player must be suspended when he/she is under felony charges, and that the player must remain suspended until their case has been fully adjudicated in the civil courts. As far as I understand, there is no official charge yet, but as I just posted above, why else would MU suspend him unless they knew for certain that he was going to be presented with felony charges? Sounds like Washington will likely miss a good portion of the season. Ouch.

Is it a gimme that charges will be filed or is there still a chance everything is dropped? Very interesting. I can't help but think that MU must have known that charges were inevitable since his initial case was dropped when the woman (and he) failed to appear in court. I know the charges are hideous, but is it fair to suspend him if there are no charges and no case against him? That's why I'm thinking MU must know that charges are on their way. But that's just me thinking out loud.

For all of the references I STILL hear from Mizzou fans about Osborne being classless for allowing Phillips to play, it will be VERY interesting if Washington somehow finds his way back in a Mizzou uniform this year. I imagine he'll be out for a long time while this thing goes through the legal system. The only hope for Mizzou fans on this is that the girl just drops her case and says she fabricated it.

FWIW, Turner announced yesterday that he is moving Keeston to safety. I wonder if Keeston is regretting picking KU now.

Any reason in particular you say this, EZ-E? Got some insider info for us? McNeill was saying how Quincy is the one freshman that has really stood out to him so far. Also, Bo mentioned how Chase Rome is really impressing him. Apparently Rome is already repping with the 1s and 2s and is still playing really well. Sounds like he might get some playing time this year as well.

Oh no. When all of this agent stuff started to hit the fan I immediately got scared about the Callahan era. I really hope the NCAA doesn't start digging too deeply into those years.

NU made his top five schools that will receive an official visit this fall. Just looking at the list of schools, one would think NU would be his clear favorite. Unfortunately, academics is #1 for Evans, which is why he gives both Vandy and Duke the edge over Nebraska right now. He said if it was just football, then NU would be his top choice, but his top priority is academics. Maybe the staff will feature the great academic support system and high graduation rate on his visit. But it looks like an uphill battle due to Duke and Vandy's academic prestige.

Just watched his Rivals film. Pretty impressive. Like some others here, I agree that he'll add some good weight in his first couple of years at NU, which will make him a bigger threat at the college level. Here are my other quick impressions from his film. Positives: - Displays good pursuit. Seems to have a knack for getting to the ball carrier. - Hard hitter. Looks like he will fit nicely in Bo's style of defense. - Drives through blocks well. On one play he blows up a blocker and takes down the RB. Again, this is indicative of his pursuit and toughness. Negatives: - A bit on the slow side in the open field. There are only a couple of instances on his film, but he doesn't seem to close the gap very quickly when chasing the ball carrier. Again, it's hard to tell from this very limited film, but that's my layman's analysis. Edit: After looking at his film again, I take back my concern about his open field speed. The film doesn't show much of that, but he definitely has closing speed from 7-10 yards out. I would like to see some film of him in coverage though. LBs in Bo's system need to be able to drop back in coverage too.
