  1. so i assume that all you lee lovers will be prepared to eat crow as well when he SUCKS, AGAIN, and by the end of the season doesn't even sniff the field.
  2. I'm backing Bo 100%. Stop crying, girls...the season starts in a couple weeks.
  3. Somebody please tell USC and their awful mutant offspring in the morning to put a sock in it. They aren't special, OWH be damned as well. Both the University as an entity and Coach Pelini in particular are intimately involved, and fully vested in the matter. I personally trust Bo's take on this, seeing how well the program has responded under his leadership, and specifically due to T.O.'s over-seeing the entire operation. This is football, not 8th grade recess.
  4. Coach Sez: Practice shut down for 3 days? GOOD. Get 'em in line, Bo....we've got your back. GBR!
  5. WHO CARES ABOUT PRESEASON PUNDIT RANKINGS?? Don't give these guys click through traffic for basically drooling on themselves. I predict if NU wins every football game they play this upcoming season, another national championship trophy will magically appear in Lincoln, NE.
  6. Yeah, I understand you don't want Zac Lee. You obviously have some personal vendetta against the kid, however you failed to answer WHY you would pick ONE of the other QB's on roster? And saying cause Zac Lee sucks is not a reason why you would want to start one of the other guys. I want to know why you think that guy is better than Zac Lee. Yeah, uh, my opinion is that Lee sucks at playing QB. I don't know him, don't care. I just want some stand up, rock jawed SOB ready to make things happen back there. Somebody not afraid, and that has the superlative physical tools to dress down an opposing defense. Who here really can argue against that? I mean, i've watched many a scrub team roll through lincoln and get waxed, and i find myself wishing that we could have any of their quarterbacks. any of them look better than Lee did all of last season. It was one of the most atrocious things i've ever seen at d1 level, honestly. i used to think that we had some poor quarterbacks, comparatively, over the last 10 years until Lee became starter. Now i wish that we had any of them. Sure, you can probably pull out a highlight or something to counter what i'm saying here, but i watched every down. of every game. so did you. i know what i saw. so do you. it was not pretty. you know this. every time Green came in i saw a guy who clearly had every single physical tool necessary to dominate a game from the QB position. Just physically impose his will on the game, a la Vince Young. I also saw that he did not have any confidence whatsoever. What solves that problem? Game experience. Denying him game experience is also denying him the ability to correct his lack of confidence, which is in turn what is preventing him from seeing the field, or challenging for a starting role. So basically, until he actually plays, he probably won't ever play. There is only one solution: take a chance, early in the season, against some lesser opponents, and Just Start Him. Let him struggle, let him figure it out. Late in the season we will be better off. Just like if we would have had a physically superior athlete at the quarter back position against some other opponents, say VT or UT, he would have had enough plays in him to pull out at least a couple 1st downs that Lee could not, which basically could and in all likelihood would have reversed the results of both contests. And this season that could mean the B12 championship game and bowl game. How can the coaching staff not take this chance? I have no explanation, and unless somebody can give me a logical deduction with supporting examples of a good reason, i say the fix is in, or the offensive staff needs to go IF Lee starts game 1. REACT and don't BS me.
  7. ??? kosher? (nice one) race reference? dude, lighten the hell up. oversensitive "PC" status of board mod = CONFIRMED. Fact: in no way have i been derogatory whatsoever to anyone of any racial orientation except maybe whatever race Lee happens to be. so stuff it. OUT COMES TEH BANHAMMER! and the WHAAAMBULANCE! I'm a freaking huge NU fan dude, white as hell(irish in fact), and don't give two craps about any kind of skin color. but whatever. clown away.
  8. yeah, Lee is a 1st round lock in the league. sure looked like it all last season. Blazing speed. Tough as nails. Impossible to stop or tackle or even understand what the hell he was doing at any given moment. he's like the Sphynx from Mystery Men, but in QB form.
  9. No way man, Lee is officially the stuff. I mean, who wants the 6'4" super fast, freakishly athletic black guy with the cannon attached to his shoulder, or the slightly smaller, quicker, faster, black guy with the rocket attached to his shoulder back there. Or anybody else because (a)we haven't seen them play yet and (b)they can't be any better than the guy we've seen play. Lord knows those two should never get a shot because {c}they don't have 100X the physical skills of the returning starter, and (d)are only lacking game experience to actually be good. I get it now, it's clear. I'm on board. Its simple math: a + b + c + d = Lee. Lee, Lee he's our man, if he can't do it, no one can! All together now! Lee, Lee he's our man, if he can't do it, No One Can! YAY Lee!
  10. dang, you guys are right. Lee is awesome. what was i thinking?
  11. Burkhead is white, & he doesn't suck. or is slow. he's pretty tough too. in fact, i heard he used to play QB. WAIT! ZZZZOMG!
  12. dang man, get some thicker skin. I wasn't aware that the mod's had a stake in Lee's starting at QB this season. is there a pool or something? whats the over/under? I want in.
  13. Thanks for missing the clearly explained premise. that being: Failure, demonstrated repeatedly, does not belong as a starting QB at an NU team with aspirations of national prominence. sure, try again! go you! why not? but after 1 whole season of "mediocre at best, usually pathetic" performance at QB, can't we try something else for, i don't know, 3 or 4 consecutive games? pretty please? i'd rather see another running back behind center than that slow, inept, incapable white boy. its like somebody took the worst parts of ganz, taylor, and keller, and BANG out came Lee. AND THEN HE STARTS. ALL SEASON. AND SUCKS! and then the best part: YOU LIKE IT??? and want more of it. please.
  14. 100% not what i said, thanks. Feel free to re-read.
  15. There's enough fail in your post to discuss for days, but I'll just address this. Lee has worked around about 1,000 times harder at being a quarterback than you, making all your "but but's" pretty irrelevant. You wouldn't know Nebraska football the way Lee knows it because you haven't got the skill to be walk-on, let alone a recruited scholarship athlete. What you know of Nebraska football consists of sitting in the stands, watching on TV and griping on message boards. Sure, your rants are silly and funny and we're all getting a chuckle out of you, but bottom line is, you're all hot air and no substance. You may retain the floor for your little comedy routine, though. Please. Proceed. hey chief, this isn't about me. this is about NU's joke of a QB last season(take umbrage if you really disagree, please), and the apparent inability of the residents of this particular fishbowl to admit it...which i find completely ridiculous. the dude Does Not Have What It Takes, athletically or otherwise...or at the very least has yet to demonstrate it on the field, end of story. but whatever...enjoy the cool-aid i guess. and to the question posed by the previous post... ANY OF THE ABOVE. what part of ANYBODY BUT LEE did you miss? just saying, and i'm far from alone.
  16. I'd just like to point out, that if NU would have had about 2/3 of an offense last year they'd have been in the national championship game, and that would have been a sight to behold for sure....at least even odds to take home MNC #6. Seriously, i have NO QUESTIONS about the flying Pelinis, Bo is the greatest single defensive mind I've ever seen on the college level. Great defense follows him everywhere he's been, great defense that changes programs, that wins games, that wins Big Games. Also, This Year is a red-letter year, for many reasons. NU has a once in a lifetime opportunity to write an epitaph on the big 12 tombstone, and to kick off what i see as a dominant 3-5 year period moving forward into the big 10, which clearly isn't going to be ready for what pelini brings on the defensive side of the ball. i mean, they just discovered the forward pass, right? In short, we need results offensively, game 1. NO MORE EXCUSES, i'm sick of them, husker nation deserves better than that, the tradition alone requires more. NU CAN WIN THE MNC THIS YEAR. Men are judged by Results at the end of the day, excuses are for women, children, and runner's up. Husker Nation carrying Lee's water by excusing last season's disasterous showing (injuries, bad o-line, emotional distress, blah blah) actually makes me sick...think about it: Nebraska has had success in the past by being harder-nosed, more physical, meaner, leaner, and more efficient than anyone else. Not necessarily more talented, not better funded, not over-hyped or over-exposed...and most certainly not by accepting or excusing poor on the field performance. Allowing that belies a weak-mindedness that rots like a cancer. (The one time NU did get over-hyped, they got rolled up @ colorado and slapped down in the rose bowl. We didn't earn it, just like Lee being the starting QB.) Rules of life: Work hard, succeed, eat well, live well...no excuses for failure. Its a philosophical thing...the "but but's" and apologies for Lee simply does not fit the profile of Nebraska Football as i know it. And what we've had going on offensively, specifically from the one guy that handles the ball every snap, is not good enough. Not even close. Don't kid yourself.
  17. Yeah, right, because remember all those games that Lee won for the huskers. I mean really, WHERE WOULD WE BE WITHOUT LEE????? ZZZZOMG!!! Nobody else could make those perfect throws, could say "hike" and take the snap like him. Hand off the ball with such confidence. It was a thing of beauty to see him flailing around in the backfield, launching duck after duck in what could be generally considered the right direction. Or how about all those times he made tacklers miss him in the backfield to gain a few extra seconds. Or maybe those many times when he bulled his way through a defender to get that critical first down. seriously, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? WHAT DOES HE DO WELL???? WHAT HAS HE EVER DONE WELL, OR WITH CONSISTENT SUCCESS?? I submit that anybody who defends Lee or Watson for starting him in spite of his obvious inability to perform the basic functions required by the position should have their Big Red Football Fan card pulled, or at least have their status changed from "legit" to "questionable". Are you REALLY a Nebraska fan? if so, how do you justify suggesting that this fraud should be the starter? On second thought, don't bother. There is no justification IMO aside from plain old "glass-half-full" thinking, which goes around here like a hooker on Leavenworth street. Summary: It's at least arguable that a trained monkey could have been as effective last season.
  18. Wow, I honestly can't believe how much people on this board like Lee. Stunned, more like. Lee stunk it up the entire season, particularly against quality opponents, save for 2 or 3 flashes where he apparently stumbled or lucked out into some measure of success. Any success he had at QB was never due to his transcendent performance. I cringe every single time he's running around looking to pass, praying he doesn't fumble it or throw an INT, and secretly hoping that he would get his bell rung a little so ANY backup could come in. Just praying for it. I mean seriously, you're telling me that any D1 level quarterback couldn't have done what he did last season? He had the nations number 1 defense backing him up and the best our offense could muster with him at the helm was 12 points against a UT defense that gave up like 40 against a much overhyped alabama team(but I digress). Its not like Lee didn't have a million cracks at getting ball down the field, but terrible throw after terrible throw basically made the coaching staff determine that, rather than replacing a guy that clearly was over his head and couldn't get it done, they should simply avoid using the quarterback in any meaningful way whatsoever. What a total failure. This staff had better figure which of the other guys on the team can get it at least 1/2 way done, or NU is in some deep doo-doo. Lee is destined to start self destructing any moment, and by what i observed watching every snap of every game last season, it's only sheer luck that he didn't toss 30 interceptions last year. And that goes for every single Husker fan I actually know and watch games with. What's with the short memory? Didn't you people see his awful passes against VT? i mean has he EVER looked good throwing the ball? when has he ever delivered a pass that was impressive in any way? The few TD passes he did manage, the receivers were waiting for the ball, or the thing was wobbling around, off target so bad that the DB had no chance of getting to it if he wasn't looking back. His mechanics are awful, he's slow of foot, he clearly lacks confidence and/or the guts + brawn to stick his helmet in somebody's chest and make them regret it. NOTE TO UNL AD: PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FORCE WATSON TO START SOMEBODY BESIDES LEE. If we would have done this last season we'd already have an experienced starter with the tools to win games for us, rather than offensively limp along with an empty uniform behind center, keeping our fingers crossed that he doesn't blow it. Re-evaluate, husker nation.
  19. sooo, did you miss the SEC championship game? too busy trolling message boards, maybe? whatever bro, i'm stamping this a coup, making off with the only thing worth a damn from your swamp infested/underwater/hurricane fodder/stinky ass/broke ass/no teeth having state. aside: god what ugly uniforms you have! looks like a washed out version of U of M. i mean, seriously, LSU has like 3 good seasons in a row and now you think you can talk junk to the titan of college football? maybe big red's been sleeping for the last 4 or 5 years, but don't start pounding on your chest just yet, little man. you've only 40 more years of dominance to go before your bayou kitty cats start to measure up. good luck with that---you're going to need it, especially if you keep mr. les miles as your hc.
  20. yes, he is. that's why frank solich hired him, and that's why TO hired him. AND, you'll find out just how 'magic' he is next season when LSU's head coach gets exposed, unable to stand on his own merits, just ask ok st. les miles is soooooo much smoke and mirrors....i hope that LSU fans everywhere thoroughly enjoyed having a defense coordinator that saved their season, because he is in lincoln, nebraska driving the big red truck now. feeling really really good about the future of NU football, buh bye now.
