  1. I'm curious to see if this has been addressed yet. With Nebraska moving to the Big 10, what will that do to our schedule? Are we keeping the current schedule for a year, two years, 3? Or will they make a new schedule for the upcoming year?
  2. man i hate to be a dick, but i lived in Harrisburg for 3 years and came away hating penn state bitterly. i personally wish for us to beat them more than any team in the big 10. that being said, thanks for the welcome
  3. I think it should be named the "Now we can finally beat the SEC" conference
  4. i thought that saying was applied to new york? or were you making a funny?
  5. yeah, this place is a FOB only by the barest definition. the place i was at in iraq was the sh#t. we had everything right next to us. stay safe man

  6. There are a few examples I can think of: - Julius Peppers played in the Final Four for North Carolina. He quit his senior year to focus on football, but was an important part of one of the best teams in the country for a couple of years. - Charlie Ward did the same thing, won the MNC, and then ended up in the NBA. I guess the question will be if he actually has the talent (and desire) to do it. For the best athletes it is certainly possible. yeah, but neither of those examples played on the offensive line. julius peppers is a pass rusher and ward was a QB, not some freakin huge O-line guy
  7. Roger BTW, what are you doing up this early?
  8. ditto. the less government the better. when has the goverment ever fixed anything? lol
  9. really? have you ever shot a glock before, ever? i don't think so. i have extensively shot my 23 and there is little to no recoil compared to a .45. I have never had one jam and they are pretty much idiot proof. and how is the USP .45 the AK-47 of handguns? i could buy 5 AK's for the price of one USP. Not to mention the USP is probably more accurate than the AK (half joking). Do you even read what you write before posting? posts like that, which make no sense at all, really detract from any positive opinions that you might have. You might like the USP, but any weight which I'd give to your opinion went out the window when i read the rest of your post I own a Glock and it's a P.O.S. I happen to be relatively proficient with handguns. I've put over 15,000 rounds through my USP without a single jam or failure. My Sig P220 Elite is probably the best handgun I've ever shot, and is the closest thing to a 1911 my department will allow me to carry. The Springfield 1911 TRP Operator is the only step up from it, in my opinion. As far as Glocks go, I don't know how many shootings you've heard of or been in, but I've seen them fail people in my department more than any other. I am one of the range masters in my department and I've seen, firsthand, the Glock fail, jam, stovepipe, and even saw one blow up in a guy's face. You can keep your Glock, and good luck with it... Hey, at least you can throw it in the dishwasher with the rest of your Tupperware... Glocks are good only because they are cheap, hence being the most widely owned handgun in the USA... If you want cheap quality, buy a Springfield XD... If you had half a brain, or were knowledgeable with firearms, you would've understood my joke about the HK... The HK is probably the most reliable handgun I've ever seen. It can withstand the elements, dirt, whatever, and still shoot. Try "Wikipedia" or wherever you learned about guns, and you'll probably figure it out... As far as recoil goes, I was referring to the Glock .45 .... A lightweight gun + big round = Recoil. If I could simplify that for you and make a demonstration out of crayons and play-dough I would... Off-topic... If you're going to talk sh#t to someone in a post, can you at least have enough respect for yourself to proof-read your posts? I feel like I just got lectured by a 12 year old on MySpace. First off, I never attacked you personally, just your post. Insinuating that that I am 12yo doesn't do anything to add to this duscussion. Second, if you really want to talk gun knowledge and being in firefights, I suggest YOU wiki the 75th Ranger Regiment, which is my Army unit. I would be willing to bet that I have been in more firefights, shot more people, shot more bullets, and been in combat/violent situations than you EVER will be as an LEO (which it sounds like you are). I don't think anyone should question my weapons knowledge or where I got it. If you have an opinion about a weapon that's all cool, but you should make your case in your post. Your first post was somewhat lacking in the details that you provided in your second post, which would have made the first post make more sense. Also, as far as the Glock's on your range that misfired, jammed, blew up, etc, what condition were the weapons in? Did they clean them? Did they know what they were doing? Were they using incorrect ammunition? And no where did I say that the USP was an inferior weapon to the Glock. I simply stated what I felt were it's strengths. The USP is a great weapon. However, for the price and ease of using (i hate most safety's on sidearm's) I love the Glock and have never had a problem with it. As far as your joke goes, i believe myself and carlfense were attempting to figure it out a few posts above this quoted post of yours. As far as your comment about Glock's and recoil, I don't see why you would refer to a .45ACP Glock when I was discussing the merits of the .40S&W Glock, which is why I thought your post about recoil was crazy talk. Hell yes, .45 Glock's have a lot of recoil, I wouldn't dispute that, ever. Perhaps you should have made your initial post a little more clear. \ And finally, if I want to sh#t talk someone, it won't be on a Husker board. I see no reason to get all butthurt over this. If you are still feeling poopy about this, then all you have to do is wait until fall when I get back from my deployment and I'll be back in Omaha for two weeks and we can figure it out. -Sincerely, Internet Tough guy
  10. i must be totally blitzed on the kool-aid, because i said we were already back among the elites. we should've beaten texas, who should've beaten alabama for the NC. this year, the should have's will become will have's. mark it :koolaid2: :koolaid2:
  11. i get a funny feeling in my pants when i look at that gun LOL

You might like the USP, but any weight which I'd give to your opinion went out the window when i read the rest of your post I think he meant "AK" as in reliability and magazine capacity . . . I guess? That said, I've never heard bad things about Glock reliability or recoil. Quite the opposite actually. I don't like them personally . . . too much plastic for my taste. I'm still partial to a big chunk of machined steel. That said, they're great guns and are a good option for anyone who likes that style of pistol. reliability, maybe, but the AK's magazine capacity is nothing to write home about. The fact that it fires a 7.62 at full auto with loose tolerances (resulting in low low accuracy) negates any magazine capacity it has (40rds if i remember right)

  14. What's a bread mutt lol? Is that like a toasty german shepherd? Maybe a nice sesame seed Chihuahua?
  15. hey army, you goin 160th someday?
  16. yeah, those Barrett M82A1's are bada$$. freakin heavy though
  17. HI is reporting that Standard was "blown away" by KU's junior day. His parent's came along as well and his father was so impressed that he put KU at the top of his list. Standard says he won't put out his top list yet, but said KU was around the the top. We'll need to have a badass junior day and show him what a real atmosphere is all about. He also mentioned that he loved the coaches and how the whole stadium was....whatever color the gayhawks are. anyway, he's pretty high on them. we need to turn this around. he is still planning on visiting us at the end of the month for our junior day
  18. I don't mean to sound rude . . . but the .22 bullet does not bounce around and tear the crap out of you. It moves in a straight line unless deflected by bone. I know this firsthand because I've skinned hundreds of raccoons that were shot with a .22lr . . . and the wound channel is straight and generally unimpressive. The .22lr is marginal, at best, for home defense. In most cases you'd be better off with a baseball bat. unless you are a good shot. it's dark, most people are scared, adrenaline is pumping, i don't care if you are a good shot or not, unless you are used to that situation, you aren't gonna pull off a headshot
  19. a .22 WILL bounce around IF it hits bone, but they generally move so fast unless they hit something solid they will fly right through you. this is why a ,40S&W or .45ACP is generally favorably looked upon. If you get hit with that center mass, your ass is going down. this is why LEO's and SPECOPS operators favor high caliber bullets. we hate those pu&&y 9mm beretta 92FS's we have issued
  20. too true. that can get very dangerous. kids will get into everything. and if you keep the gun and ammo separate, it won't do you much good in the event of a home invasion. however, should you decide to keep a gun in the home, it is important instruct your kids from an early age on gun safety.
  21. ah but unless it's sawed off, a shotty is a poor choice for room clearing. trust me, it's my job. a nice handgun will be much better.
  22. he also said that miami hasn't shown any interest but if they do, they will prob be at his top since he has been a miami fan since he was a kid
  23. i prefer the .40 S&W. It shoots like a 9mm (low recoil) and has roughly the stopping power of a .45ACP. It's a great round for a beginner shooter and can still put down targets. I love the Glock 23. It's slightly smaller than a full size Glock, enabling you to conceal carry, but is still big enough to fit comfortably in your hand. It is also a .40S&W. I know of several people that carry these. It is also very reasonably priced
  24. socal, you are forgetting your history here. back in WWII we used to carpet bomb entire cities. The fire bombing we did to Japan caused FAR more death and devastation that even the nuclear bombs did. Yet nowadays we have smart bombs to target only certain areas or buildings. As an infantryman in a special operations unit, i am privy to more information that most. We have a lot of restrictions on us as far as what targets we can hit, when, and why. Most of this is due to the U.S. trying to eliminate all civilian casualities and to promote our cultural sensitivity. HOWEVER socal, this is a WAR. One that we did not start. There will always be civilian casualites. Whether its a guy driving a giant gas truck straight at a group of U.S. soldiers at night and doesn't stop in time, or wrong intelligence that send a bomb to a house full of civilians. For your information, i was there when the former instance happened. There was nothing we could do without endangering ourselves. If you think that we knowingly target innocents, you are completely wrong. The point these people are making about the terrorist camps in the U.S. is that we know that a certain sect of Islam is devoted to attacking and destroying the U.S. They have done it in the past and will do it again in the future. If the have credible intel that those people plan on attacking us, then they should be taken out/taken to jail. The issue isn't that they are Muslims with weapons, the issue is that they are Muslims with weapons that potentially could have terroristic tendencies. If they are American citizens, then they should be given due process. If they aren't, then since they are not uniformed soldiers of another country that signed the Geneva Convention, F*CK THEM
