  1. Interesting message, I just wonder if you are a top level recruit with offers to Alabama, Georgia, OSU, Michigan, etc. that all put a ton of players into the NFL, and become stars as well, and CU comes along with a puny NIL offer, why say yes?
  2. I will be fascinated to see how CU’s NIL comes along. They are notoriously cash strapped, and have been for YEARS, which would seem to indicate a lack of donors. The recent comments from the AD stating that they will “find” the money to pay Deon is troubling to me. Deon can recruit no doubt, but at P5 level these days, the top recruits aren’t going to go somewhere that doesn’t have good NIL opportunities.
  3. That was the exact same reaction I had when I read that tweet as well. Doesn't bode well for using NIL to get transfers....
  4. But wouldn't Michigan own that land, I mean, they are undefeated after all?
  5. This makes no sense at all to me, how does KSU get part of Michigan?
  6. If you are looking for outside hires that don't have previous history with Rhule then don't hold your breath. Rhule stated in a recent interview that he felt one of his biggest mistakes at Carolina was hiring a lot assistant coaches he didn't have a history with. He is supposedly a very demanding boss and can be tough to work for if you don't know what his expectations are. He won't go that route this time.
  7. Dang, hopefully Rhule can convince him to reconsider after he looks around.
  8. I thought a lot of that situation was due to the past coaching staffs and their lack of recruiting his son's. Rhule and Co. could certainly try and repair that bridge if so.
  9. Well he did win B1G Offensive Player of the year, so yeah, I would say he was pretty good.
  10. Thanks, I was catching up on the news today after work and a South Carolina fan buddy of mine sent it to me with angry face emoji’s. Makes sense it would be fake.
  11. Wisconsin is actually not in a better position to succeed than NU in the ways that count most. A big part of Wisconsin's recent downturn is attributed to a real disfunction in their recruiting operation and they also don't have a NIL operation at all yet. Fickell has a very large job in front of him to build up the recruiting function and get a NIL organization started from scratch. Not saying he can't, but NU is light years ahead of Wisconsin on both of these fronts at this time. In addition, Wisconsin's facilities are NOT good. Their indoor training facility doesn't even fit a full sized football field. They have approved a $300mm project to rebuild a large part of their facilities, which will help them a ton, but they are farther away from getting that rectified than NU is finishing the current project plus NU already has decent facilities. Overall the issues all stem back to Barry Alvarez's insistence on doing it his way and not adapting to the times. It worked for many many years, but they never got over the top to truly elite status and now it has caught up with them. Part of the reason the new AD didn't hire Jim Leonard was to signal a break from Barry's influence and try to bring Wisky into the present day. Fickell is a good coach and the new AD seems like he is moving things in the right direction, but they have to still catch up to what is going on today, let alone be prepared for the next evolution.
  12. That is what I am wondering as well. He could be thinking he won’t be retained long term at Carolina and sees the opportunity to lock up an analyst role at NU as a way to keep progressing as a coach and keep a paycheck. Either that or Rhule really liked what he saw from him so far and feels he will do a good job. Recruiting chops are my first concern of Knighton is indeed the choice for D-Line coach.
  13. So it looks like offensively the most important stat, points per game, increased steadily each year despite fluctuations in the rushing and passing numbers. To me that screams better efficiency on offense and not just grabbing empty yards. What I like better are the defensive stats. Rhules’s defenses definitively got better gear over year at both stops, not to mention his Carolina D was pretty salty also. Great sign to see a focus on building a strong D.
  14. Wait, can you slow down? Not sure I read that right , did you say Rhule only coached 1 good season at a P5 school? Can you please repeat that to be sure?
  15. Except Rhule isn’t a single highlight Coach. He has coached Temple to 2 10 win seasons and a conference title over 4 seasons. He then went on to build Baylor to a 11 win team over 3 seasons. He has 7 years of college HC experience vs SF who only had 2 seasons; including 3 at a power 5 level, which SF didn’t have.
  16. They pulled several gems out of Texas after joining the B1G, the biggest issue was that Riley didn’t recruit TX at all and that dried the pipeline. SF started to try again to a lesser extent, but Rhule’s connections should help re-invigorate that.
  17. Not necessarily, Bo and others pulled top level talents out of Texas such as Rex, Jamal, and others, it is possible to pull a few top level players from TX each year. Rhule’s connections surly help that.
  18. He got LAID out! Awesome block by MW!
  19. Congratulations to Trey! Awesome show today and I am glad he is having a big game today.
  20. True, also means Rhule has built connections in PA and TX, his TX connections have been lauded by pundits actually, so that would help you would think.
