  1. w-w-wait, you mean that's not true???
  2. opponents total yards 2649 plays 462 per play 5.7 per game 441.5 1st downs 174 Nope nothing wrong here just my negativity and imagination that this is the worse Nebraska defense ever. That's called, "overcoming adversity," my friend. After all of that, they are still 4-2!! Not bad, in my book. Fine athletes, fine program, fine coaching . . . let's just hope that the fans show some class! GO BIG RED! Apparently you didn't notice that we're 4-2 by the skin of our butts... We almost lost to Ball St, almost lost to Wake Forest, and got it handed to us by Mizzou, but, we're going to put it on Okie St, 48 - 13... REMEMBER KIDS, THERE'S NO HOPE IN DOPE!!!!!
  3. "We're" bringing down the program??? Where the hell were you last saturday night??? Bill Callahan is bringing the program down. Cosgrove is bringing the program down. Did the members of this board call pass plays on 3rd and 2? Did the members of this board not even show any defensive pressure on saturday night? Did the members of this board fail to motivate the players saturday night? No, NO, and HELL NO!!!! So then no, we're not bringing the program down, and we're not going to "fade into the woodwork". We're mad as hell because we know what this program has down, what it was capable of under a competant coach, and the pride and tradition that has obviously been rendered null and void. If anything, you my friend are what's plaguing our team. The complacent attitude, the apparent "it broken so don't fix it" mentality, is what is going to drive this team into the ground...
  4. He would have stuck around. How many coaches go to the NFL, get their asses kicked, then come screaming back to the college ranks like a child to his mother. He'd have had no reason to leave, as long he was well compensated, and allowed to run the program his way...
  5. Damn, apparently i'm either too much of a stick in the mud or I haven't posted enough recently... heh
  6. I don't think so, but orange slices were handed out by the mom's...
  7. rest here: http://journalstar.com/articles/2007/10/10...8f514278914.txt That's nice, but if we throw the ball and 3rd & 2, and are unable to convert, then all the team meetings in the world don't make a lick of difference because the coaches are driving this team into the ground...
  8. Maybe we should accept mediocrity. This game was 2 steps backwards from the progress we made this year. We don't control our own destiny for the North now. Gotta have some help from other teams. sorry, but i find mediocrity unacceptable, have all my life. maybe callahan strives for it and accepts it, most top notch folks do not. You do realize your arguing with a post from 2005. And therein lies the problem... A good coach would have shown us some semblence of progress, and not the same old song and dance we've seen since his arrival here. The most embarrasing part of all this is, this post is 2 years old, and not much has changed. We're still losing big games, our offense is still mediocre at best, our defense seive like, and our coaches inept.
  9. Hell, it's my reason for playing the Megamillions lottery here in New Jersey. I'd give the University 30 million dollars to get rid of Pedey and the "moron" and make me director of football operations... I know that's about as far fetched as you can get, but it's nice to dream...
  10. That was quite possibly the worst job of defensive coaching i've ever, ever seen. He could have brought a linebacker or two, maybe even get "crazy" and blitz a safety or a corner. But from the above quote, there's one thing that is apparent, that Cosgrove's uterus hurts, and is seriously lacking in testicular fortitude, it's no wonder our defense sucks and blows at the same time...
  11. Keller is streaky, point blank. He Jekyll and Hyde's every game. Some drives he'll look absolutely brilliant, then the next drive, we might as well have Helen Keller taking the snaps. But more importantly, "the moron" simply cannot coach. Some of his offensive calls, are offensive. For throwing the ball on 3rd and short, he should be shot on general principle.
  12. I've gone through everyone's choices, and there are some solid ideas, but to me, it comes down to one thing... I want somebody that's played here, knows what Memorial Stadium's like when we were a great program. Someone that knows of the pride and tradition. Do we need someone that's "homegrown", and my answer to that is yes. The only "outsider" i'd consider is Bo Pelini. I know he's not media "saavy", but he's not paid to be a media darling. He's paid to be a coach, light a fire under some asses, get this team motivated, and moving in the right direction. I really don't want another coach from an "up and coming program", unless he's played here, or coached here before.
  13. If we make it to a bowl, i'd be impressed. I think it's very nice of MSN to think that we'll be in a bowl this season. We can barely beat Ball St. BALL ST for crying out loud. 10, no wait, 6 years ago, we'd have rolled over Ball St 56-7, but now, thanks to the moron and his West Crap Offense, we can barely get past teams we'd have stomped on a few years ago...
  14. the "moron" ruined my Raiders, a solid team that was dangerous under the "Chucky" regime, but went to hell in a handbasket with gasoline pants once the "moron" took over...
  15. I disagree. The option, run correctly, will still work. I concur. There are so many teams now that run the WCO or a similar pro style offense, that D coordinators have an easier time drawing up scheme's to stop it. I know the option may be "outdated", but it can still work. You can still win with it. Just because the three stooges, AKA the college game day guys tell you it won't, doesn't necessarily make it so.
  16. At this point, he wouldn't even want this job...
  17. We have??? GBR!!! I said we've been recruiting them, I didn't say they showed up... The fact that they couldn't block a bunch of middle schoolers, is besides the point....
  18. I agree. We need to really figure out what we can do as fans to get this ship righted. I don't care how much they move kids around in schemes it's the coaching that's the problem. It's like rearraging deck chairs on the Titanic. It makes no sense and ultimately isn't going to matter. The "rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic", absolutely priceless...
  19. Sorry guys, it's been awhile since i've been around... But i'm back, with my "stick in the mud" attitude...
  20. Either way, something's got to be done, and in a hurry... I know that the "moron" isn't going anywhere in the near future, which is disheartening. The West Coast Offense is going to mar what once was a great program, and this won't be realized by the upper echelon until it's way too late. On the D side of things, there's no fire. The defense under Cosgrove has become a toothless old dog, that nobody's afraid of...
  21. I concur, we were spoiled. We had arguably two of the best coaches of all time at our school. Now, we quite possibly have one of the most over hyped coaches running our program. The day I found out he was going to be our coach, my heart sank. I'm also a Raider fan, and I still remember his piss poor job he did with my silver and black against the Bucs in the super bowl. The minute I'd heard he was coming to Lincoln, I knew we were hosed...
  22. I couldn't agree more... The national championship teams were all about two basic things... Running the ball down their throats until the opposing D-line was crying for it's mother, and Defense. I'm going to catch a lot of hell, but the old adage, Defense wins championships still holds true. We're pretty deep at running back. We could platoon the running backs keeping them relatively fresh, and just hope the O-line can keep up. We've been recruiting pass blockers, and that could be an issue, but we'd just have to ride it out.
  23. NEVER! Apparently not, which is pretty sad...
  24. I still can't believe we let Pelini go... Worst move EVA!!!!!!!!!
