  1. my parents moved to the states when i was 4 years....grew up in Grand Island , NE.. then went to UNL after graduating from Grand Island Senior High.. after one year at UNL i moved to Michigan where i transfer to Grand Valley State and graduate from... i live in Holland , MI now but still a big Husker fan..it's in my blood i guess...i get alot of sh*t from Michigan fans..they're so arrogant
  2. that's one of the strangest story i've ever heard as far as recruiting is concern...either you got some a**hole out there playing a joke on the poor kid or the kid is looking for attention in the worst way..just curious ..how does the kid not know who the coah from CAL was? ..i mean if i know i was going to CAL i would probably know who the coach was...Cal's been on tv a number of times...kid must be a real dumb*ss if you ask me
  3. keeping my fingers crossed ...this is the one player i'm real excite about..playermaker w/more moves than James Brown ....sh*t load of speeeeeeed!!!!!!
  4. i really hope we get this guy..exciting looking player
  5. anybody surprise how close the GIANTS is paying the PATS?
  6. i'm so sick and tire of watching our linebackers coming on a blitz only to run into the back of our DT..i think alot of has to do w/what GENIUS COZ was asking them (DT)to do ..that is to hold their ground ...I realize on certain plays u do have to hold your ground, but if you know you're gonna blitz down the middle you have to ask your DT to create a gap for the LB to shoot thru...too many times they're just getting in each other's way it seems
  7. i guess i would have to take up a hobbie..any suggestion?
  8. i don't know the rules and regulation of the NCAA but... wouldn't it make sense to have an early signing period just like in basketball...or maybe even go as far as letting a player sign a LOI as soon as they become a senior...seems like more and more high seniors are taking teams for a ride...sometime a team is left scrambling at the last minute because a player decides to go somewhere else and it goes both ways too...this way it would save both sides alot time and headache.....teams would have more time to regroup if let say a player decommitt to elsewhere
  9. for me it woud have to be that entire 95-96 defense...tons of speed on the outside and a couple of bulldozer on the inside...'nuff said
  10. just curious...if you could pick your favorite Nu defensive players( former and current)for your all defensive team, who would it be ...position by position
  11. However, if he can actually explode and get his hands on the O-lineman or at least hand fight, he will make it pretty hard for a QB to find a lane to throw the ball through. I just think he is an in between guy right now. He is too heavy and slow to play DE right now....he needs to condition and lose some weight to gain some of his speed back or get speed he never had. i agreed ...potter is an in-between guy right now..too big and slow fo a DE maybe alittle bit too tall and light for a DT..maybe could add some weight and play DT...definitely not DE..at least not the kinda quick and agile DE you want out there
  12. you not only have to have fast players on defense but as a coach you have to put them in a position to succeed....I don't think it wouldn't have matter if Kevin Cosgrove was given Charlie Mcbride's players, he'would still f*ck up....if you have a fast athlethlic defense you gotta let them play, just turn them loose and take advantage of their athlethlicism....look at how Bo used Demorrio williams when he was here, the guy was more than a hand full for any OT to block on passing situation...i know maybe we don't have the kind of players w/that speed or athlethlicism at the LB position at the moment but the coaches might wanna think about moving some folks up from the secondary..someone like Larry Asante would be perfect..i think he played LB in college anyway
  13. I really hope Bo goes more towards a fast attacking style of defense like in the mid 90's. we need speed at the LB positions and at the DE positions. ..if that means players changing position so be it..we have no speed at DE except maybe BT , other than that i don't know...they're all too big and slow...i want a smaller and faster DE and just turn them loose rather than having them play containment...the other thing is our starting LBs from last year had no closing speed whatsoever... if we don't have speed there, move so players up from the secondary, i think Larry Asante would add much need speed at the LB position.. move 'em over..he's 6'1.. 210lb ..plenty big... if i remember right Terrell Farley played at 6'1 ...205lb and Jamel Williams at 6'2 ..205....Demorrio William AT 6'1 ..205lb ....Ed Stewart at 6'1..210lb or so..Eric Johnson at 6'1.. 205lb..Tony Ortiz at 6'0 215lb....most of these guys played LB when Charlie Mcbride was the DC and the one thing they have in common is they can all run w/great closing speed..if anything more and more teams are going to the spread offense w/speed...you have to be able to play in open space and if you don't have speed , forget it!!...alot of teams from the SEC , if you look at their LBs they're not that big but they can all run...can't tackle 'em if you can't catch 'em..i think we have a few DBs that we could turn into a LB..this would give us speed at the LB position.
  14. You can never have enough good recievers in an offense like this one. this guy reminds me of Santana Moss when he was at MIAMI..runs the same way... very elusive
  15. i really hope we land this thompkins kid ...tons of speed ..can ultilize him in many ways on offense
  16. nothin' personal against Coz, but he's one of if not the worst DC we've ever had..the game had passed him by
  17. Michael Jackson and Latoya Jackson are really the same person
  18. well that depends...i might not be available that day ... i can check my schedule
  19. BAM!!!!....you got knock the f**k out!! that's the kinda guy we need in the secondary..forget about size..this kid can play
  20. I think speed and athlethic ability seems to be the main focus for this new staff..i don't think they care so much about the stars ranking ..can never have enough speed on the field.. i'd take speed and athlethic ability over a higher ranking player who is alot slower any day..you can teach technigue, but you can't teach speed either you have it or you don't..plain and simple..remember in the early 90's when we were losing to all the Florida schools until Tom Osborne decided to go to a faster and attacking style of defense that's when we started beating them finally..to get speed, he was turning DB into LB and LB into DE.. they were all swarming to the football... the idea is to get as much speed and athlethic ability on the field at the same time as possible..recruiting a fast athlethlic player gives you flexibility as far as where they can play .
  21. coudn't have agreed w/ you more...Coz's defensive philosophy have been a problem from day one and it shows
  22. our DE have gotten way too big and slow after charlie Mcbride left...hopefully the new staff realize this and move more towards smaller and faster DE..think Grant wistrom, Treve albert, dwayne Harris , donta Jones..these guys were smaller, heck dwayne Harris and Donta Jones were listed at 6'2 225lb..Treve Albert at 6'4 240lb and Wistrom at 6'5 240 or so... these guys all had speed coming off the edge and that's what we have been missing..no wonder we haven't been getting sacks .. Coz's philosophy of playing containtment defense doesn't help either.. gotta turn them loose on the edge and attack with speed
