  1. It's been pretty obvious Beck didn't just come here to be our RB coach, it was discussed back in 08 that this would happen, I just figured it would have happened earlier. http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/29232-shawn-watson-should-be-fired/page__view__findpost__p__359984
  2. link I don't think many have denied that Bo has mentioned things like this, but he also has mentioned the need to remain "multiple" plenty also.
  3. The Pelini's and Watson were the only ones I didn't see listed of our coaching staff.
  4. I'd prefer to keep Watson, unless he's just coming as a QB coach under Beck
  5. mitchsherman Mitch Sherman Scott Frost wants to coach at Nebraska, his dad says, but likely won't leave Oregon for anything less than a coordinator job.
  6. http://www.omaha.com/article/20110204/BIGRED01/110209832 Denies open positions, confirms Raymond and Els to Shatel
  7. frostie's coaching experience, compared to Pelini's at that time is way less... Not when it comes to being a coordinator. Neither of them had experience in that role. Frost has 1 year as a co defensive coordinator, but not offensive.
  8. Somebody needs to be posted at Frost's house in Lincoln to see if an aquarium or cable guy shows up over the next few days!
  9. But FYI, they also had posted another assistant position that has already been taken down.
  10. By university policy they have to "post" it.
  11. http://employment.unl.edu/applicants/Central?quickFind=61165 Posted today Responsible for offensive game preparation, on-field strategies and game tactics. Conduct student-athlete recruiting, monitor academic progress of current student athletes and provide instruction to team in the execution of offensive schemes and techniques.
  12. It was down for me in the morning FWIW, but after that we were good.
  13. http://huskerextra.c...dbc30412fd.html That quote looks completely terrible now. This, and to you that are arguing that Bo couldn't tell the recruits anything, please explain why he can discuss an unopen position with Corey Raymond but can't mention to a recruit that there's something going on with Sanders. Kevin Wilson said that the communication with Raymond and Nebraska has been going on for about a week. If Bo's allowed to discuss this with Raymond, there's no reason Jackson shouldn't have been given a heads up.
  14. You could say, Charles, we can't discuss specifics, but Coach Sanders has some personal business to attend to and we don't know his status for the upcoming season.
  15. I brought him up in the Corey Raymond thread a couple of days ago, he would be a good fit. Just as a side note, Warinner was the coach responsible for recruiting Bubba Starling at Notre Dame which was Bubba's #2 choice. He is also the ND coach that is recruiting 2012 recruits Evan Boehm and Dorial Green-Beckham, both big time 2012 prospects that NU is interested in.
  16. I'm not going to challenge your view on Mangino, but, if we would have scored 19-20 points in any of the close games we have played in the past 2 years, we would have won or tied all but one, I think. Very un-Watsgrove like. He averaged that with a team that won a national title, with significantly more talent than Nebraska has on our offense.
  17. People have a love affair with Mangino/KU's offense for basically 1 year, yes, KU's offense was 2nd in 2007 in scoring, but they did that playing an awful schedule. Here's the ranks of scoring D's KU faced in 2007 111th 75th in FCS 116th 115th 86th 112th 78th 49th 114th 79th 93rd 37th 3rd Avg- 83rd with the FBS schools (I didn't factor in the FCS school) They averaged 43 PPG that year, but against top 100 defenses they were held to 2 TD's less per game, and the top 50 defenses they faced held them 20 points under their average. They just got a magical schedule that year. NCAA online stats go back to 2001, here's Mangino's offenses 01- 27th (OU) 02- 96th 03- 36th 04- 76th 05- 83rd 06- 29th 07- 2nd 08- 22nd 09- 42nd Average- 46th Watson's 01- 23rd 02- 51st 03- 63rd 04- 81st 05- 78th 07- 28th 08- 18th 09- 75th 10- 44th Average 51st What exactly has Mangino proved as an assistant? He inherited a Mike Leach designed offense in 2000 and got a NC, but that offense got worse as the season went on, his last 4 games that year he averaged 19.75 PPG, very Watson like in "big games" when it counted, he only led the 2000 offense to 12 against an unranked Oklahoma State team in the Bedlam game. In 2001 his offense fell to 27th, which while good, was plagued by offenses that couldn't score when the big games came, scoring only 10 points vs NU, 13 against unranked OSU and 10 against Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl. Sorry for the anti Mangino rant, just get tired of people thinking he is some sort of offensive genius.
  18. However, by that logic, Bo will no longer be with the program..... And Frost is not coming here. I'd love to see it, but it's not gonna happen. Bo was joining by teleconference, Beck is talking about the RB's and QB's so far.
  19. Calm down. You're welcome to your opinion, and you're welcome to disagree with me and I'll disagree with you. You'll support your position and I'll support mine. I'm not concerned that you don't agree with me. Why are you so upset that I have a differing opinion from you? Im not upset, i respect your opinion, im not the one laughing at you for your comments. I guess i need thicker skin. Have you been drinking tonight? Just curious, honestly.
  20. We lost Ekeler obviously, and it appears that Sanders has resigned, and Watson and Gilmore will not be retained or have left. We have one reported coach coming in, sounds like we're down 3. I've heard Frost\Beck as co-oc's, as well as Ed Warinner\Beck as co-oc's. Either would be just fine with me.
  21. Ed Warrinner? http://www.und.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/warinner_ed00.html
  22. I said other, Bo did his job, and the reporters did theres. If a contract has not been signed, i's dotted and t's crossed there is nothing to announce. How long did people know Ekeler was hired at Indiana before it was official?
  23. We have a WR's brother saying his position coach is fired, we know another coach said that Raymond will be coaching DB's. Those two coaches mysteriously aren't at the recruiting dinner tonight, nor is our offensive coordinator. Smoke, fire...
  24. Smoke? Fire? Maybe. That link also says Bo isn't there, either. We're down 3 coaches apparantly, the recruiting class is signed. Bo has other things to worry about like getting our staff back together.
