  1. Texas put up a better fight than Florida did, even with their backup qb, and Boise's debatable Texas also had 3 extra weeks to prepare for Bama than Florida did.
  2. are you talking about a Defense of ours thats been built to stop the spread? Who are you gunna put at LB besides Phil Dillard? or are you just gunna say the hell with it and run that 4-1-6 we've been runnin most of the year? Think about what the matchups would be. Bama would beat us, oh i would say something like 24 - 6. Our offense wouldn't be able to keep drives alive to let our defense rest. This is me being optimistic. Alabama is really really good on both sides of the ball. If we were this good, then we wouldn't have lost to ISU, VT, UT, and TTU.
  3. Herby was really only upset about 71 team beating the 04 USC team, after that, he was already just pissed so he decided to bash the others...and in the heat of the moment he said "01 miami and the 04 usc team were best in this" if you rewind a bit he does say that he'd "take it" if it was 04 usc and 95 nebraska. Thats when blackledge is breakin it down. either way it was a sour moment for herby, but I still think he's is top 3 if not the best guy at ESPN by some peoples standards.
  4. erby is still one of the best analysts at ESPN. Although I think Jesse Palmer is by FAR the best if you had to look at all of them. Him and Craig James are seriously the only people that I ever listen to that don't seem to be very bias in any direction. I could be way off on that but in my opinion JP and CJ should be the game day crew now that Corso has had that stroke he's just not as fun to listen to.
  5. by the way if any of you watched the post game analysis on ESPN360.com James/Palmer/Fowler all said they thought for sure Nebraska would be a preseason top 10 team. Headed into 2010
  6. I brought this up a while back...and its actually a top 19 team period, not at home, not on the road...just period. We'll still have to wait till next year to get off that snide. Either way, This was a HUGE statement game going into next year. Jesse Palmer/Craig James absolutely love Bo Pelini, it was evident in there commentating tonight.
  7. if football were to be outlawed then everything i've been working for in college will have been in vain. the thought of this pisses me off
  8. +10000000000 He is &%#king horrible. Get him the heck out.
  9. We need the kind of qb that is tough when he needs to be, not be scared in the pocket...some one like.........................................Jeremiah Masoli.
  10. No way. He's been injured too much this season, and hasn't really shown much unless he has a gaping hole to run through. I know i'll pry get blasted for saying that but I'm just not sold on the guy......yet.
  11. maybe we'll come out in black everything in the uniforms...something crazy like...............oh wait, I was thinking I was in eugene for a second.
  12. its lookin like it'll be Tampa the way they are going, and I like their chances of getting better than any of those others I guess St Louis is 1-12 also, we should pry pull for st louis to win another game.
  13. You still aren't right. You are just delusional. You do know the Big 12 is really down this year right? Nobody was really dominant. I will be laughing all night when Alabama rips apart Texas. TBH there isn't a bowl that the Big 12 is in that is automatic win. Also you do know that Iowa won their bowl last year right? might want to do fact checks before making stupid statements. I wasn't referring to last year, I'm referring to the future where Iowa will get blasted by GaTech. If you want me to change the team by year sure ok. Team followed by record before their BCS bowl game, and any college football fan sure should remember what happened in those bowl games of the teams that i'm listing. ALL blowouts the 1 exception is OSU of 08 2006 - Ohio State (12-0) AND Michigan (11-1) 2007 - Ohio State (11-1) AND Illinois (9-3) 2008 - Penn State (11-1) AND Ohio State (10-2) 2009 - ???? no one knows yet we know that Iowa (10-2) plays GaTech, and Ohio State (10-2) plays Oregon. Both teams could make a statement for the Big10 but its not gunna happen. I honestly don't think that Oregon will blow out OSU but I don't think Iowa even stands a chance against GaTech...we'll find out. Bottom line, Big 10 sucks. 0-6 in the last BCS Bowl games. Haven't won a BCS game since 2005 when Penn St (10-1) beat a less than deserving 8-4 Florida St conference champion, and that game went into 3 OT's. The other Big 10 team that won was Ohio State (9-2) beat a 9-2 Notre Dame team that played absolutely no one all year and STILL had 2 losses, and that game was still only a 2 possession game We shouldn't even have a discussion about Nebraska changing conferences, it would be a big step down from where we are at in the BIG 12. So I'll throw aside recruiting, and start bashing on the Big10 and how deep it is not. Ohio State is really the class of the conference alone as of recently. after that you got... Penn State just a pinch below Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa - your basic middle of the road big 10 teams on a yearly basis in terms of recently, some have had better than normal years but as an average they are about just that...average. Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, Minnesota - These guys are just plain bad usually, the only one that could be taken out of this is MAYBE northwestern. So basically the big 10's best team (Ohio State) would finish 7th in the Pac-10, right behind...oh...yea thats right the team that beat them earlier this year, USC! So now my question is this, would you rather play in the big-10 and be 10-2 end a week early every year and get no respect or would you rather play in the big 12 and win the north at 9-3 every year and have a shot at winning a conference title and get the respect we deserve like we did this year? That is basically the question Nebraska would have to ask itself, regardless of recruiting...
  14. back during the big 2...cough, 8 i mean. Nebraska never played anyone other than Oklahoma and a couple times CU or KSU was good but rarely. Nebraska was elite at that time, yes, not arguing that, BUT it helped only having to worry about OU most of the time, and again, we lost, most of the time to OU. either way, its pointless because ignorance is not reversible therefore I can't convince you that you are wrong. I hope someday we do change conferences where there is no Texas exposure and watch us go from being "great" or "good" to being on the level of Michigan State/Wisconsin. I wish I could be wrong about this, but i'm not. Sorry. for the record, I would take 8-4 in the big 12 over 10-2 in the big10 and be laughed at when losing a bowl game and being called overrated like IOWA.
  15. we won't lose Zach Lee or Washington, they will be seniors. Ron Kellogg (who?). Pry right on with Cooper, with the other recievers you really can't know, because they could still be used...especially Bell, and if we go to a heavy run offense why don't we split Kyler out wide as the main reciever...he'd be a mismatch in terms of blocking downfield as a reciever on a DB.
  16. still gotta use the best passer IMO, because all of them are technically "duel-threat"
  17. I'm not hating on them, i'm only saying that you can get into trouble making them the primary recruiting area. Thats it. end of story. let it go.
  18. THANK YOU! for the record, Husker_99. I would be willing to bet my car, house and everything I own that if you went and asked all of the Texas kids on our roster and ask them if they would have come here if we were in the big 10? Ask them that if they had grown up through out high school without the nebraska exposure in the texas papers from Nebraska traveling there to play games. Ask them if they would have even known who we were? Do you ever read comments about recruits out in the far west or far east regions? When asked about leaders and who is recruiting them, when Nebraska pops up, alot of them will say "I don't know very much about Nebraska, but they've been recruiting me hard".....hmm. I wonder why that is? ITS BECAUSE WE DON'T GET EXPOSURE IN THOSE PLACES! please tell me there are more educated people when it comes to recruiting on here...sorry that may have been a bit much, but i'm just a little PO'ed that you thought it was crap.
  19. wow, none of you even read my last post before you blasted me. Thanks, but anyway i'll just redirect you up to that, cuz I never said it was a bad investment. I said it can become a problem if it becomes the primary target for recruiting. but, no one will read this and continue to bash me just because of the first thing I said.
  20. thats why schools get into trouble recruiting mostly JUCOs like we did in the Callahan era. That is ALSO why Ron Prince sucked at KSU. its nice to take JUCO's and i'm happy with who we've gotten during the Pelini era, but you just can't make them the primary recruiting base, which we haven't done during Pelini's time here and thats a good thing. I'm only making a point, nothing to blast David or Hardrick, i'm sure if Pelini wanted them they will pan out just like Gomes did this year as well
  21. prime example is that Juco that ran his mouth about how we'd beat USC...5 star DB i think his name was Andre Jones? he was flat out awful, Zack Bowman didn't do much while at Nebraska he was a 5 star. Alfonzo Dennard 3 star HS recruit and Prince 3 star HS recruit > than the 2 Juco 5 stars
  22. this gets mentioned everytime but it hasn't in this thread yet. Look what it would do to our recruiting, we lose everything we have going FOR us coming out of texas. lets see here, most of our "athletes" are from TEXAS. Recruiting would take a HUGE hit if we left the big12. We would turn into another Wisconsin.
