  1. On the field and under the covers
  2. I agree that the gesture part is behind us, I hope that the cause for the gesture is resolved and also behind us. GO BIG RED!!!!!!
  3. Jst one example of what is to come. GO HUSKERS!!!!!!!!
  4. Will we see a statement from weiberg about the refs actions prior to the gesture, I doubt it. GO BIG RED!!!!!!
  5. like it or not, BC is our coach and he was hired to achieve certain goals. With that said he needs some time to recruit the players best suited for his system. He should also try to teach the players he has to be the best that they can be. It is like the question. Which came first, the chiken or the egg. As fans all we can do is support our team and let them know how much we respect a 100% effort. I see more positives than negatives at this point. If we are no better after BC has had the chance to get his type of players and I would say that he is not a good coach. I do not think that he did a good job last year playing to our strenghths but I believe he may have learned something also. Answer to the poll: 1)Great coaching with Great or Good players will almost always win 2)Good coaches with Great or Good players will almost always have the chance to win 3)Bad coaches with Great or Good players will win some and lose some and no one will know what caused either one. 4)Bad coaches with Bad players, nuff said. 5)Great players will not win on talent alone, they need the guidence to lead them and the trust that their leader knows where he wants to go. 6) Great coaches will not win on great teaching ability alone, you can take your Vega to the race track and do all the tinkering you want to, but you will almost always lose to the guy with the vett unless he blows his engine. GO HUSKERS!!!!!!!
  6. I will throw my thoughts in here. Before we string up BC, should/ shouldn't we at least give him half the chance that we gave the GREAT BOB DEVANEY. If I remember correctly he came in and changed the way the HUSKER football mindset was and it did not happen overnight. Thank you whover had the paitence to keep him. Lets go back to all the people that signed pettitions to fire T.O. who changed very little and had a good base to start. I am glad and I am sure you all are also that he did not go to scum in the 1980's. It took him how long just to beat the sooners let alone win a National Chapionship. Frank took over after all of the new scholership limits had taken place and he did not revamp his recruiting style to get the players that T.O. could get. Granted T.O. could find a farm kid in the middle of no where and he would keep that kid in the system and most likely he would do 1 of 2 things and sometimes both. 1) the kid would earn a scholership and get his degree, or 2) the kid would play four -five years on the practice squad and never play, but he would be a MUCH better man for trying. I will not say all of our loses over the last season and a half are any particular group of people fault. BC should not be so bull headed and believe that his scripted plays will work all the time. He needs to better evauluate how to use his talent he has and teach what he wants them to learn. The players we have on this years team should be remembered as the kids that went through HELL in 2004, DID NOT QUIT LIKE OTHERS DID AFTER THAT YEAR, worked through key injuries at thin positions, a new QB for the 3rd year, only had the same coaches at all of their positions for the second year in a row and still can fight all game long and make a valient effort when down by 3 scores or more and still walk off the field knowing they are getting better and they had a shot to win. THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS, IF YOU WANT MINUTE RICE HAVE AT IT SOME WHERE ELSE. I WOULD RATHER BUILD A FUTURE WITH SOLID RECRUITING, SOUND COACHING DECISIONS AND A DOG LIKE UNDYING LOVE FROM THE BEST FANS IN THE COUNTRY THAT STUCK IT OUT WITH THESE KIDS THROUGH THE TOUGH TIMES AND DO NOT FORGET THEM WHEN WE ARE BACK ON TOP. I will state this as a fact, If I were looking for someone to hire and my two choices came down to a senior on this team vs a player from the championship years and that was the only difference between the two. I would pick this years kid because he has a proven ability to handle adversity, deal with changes and still give 100% until the final whistle. GO BIG RED!!!!!!!
  7. You are right, We should be patient, but there is NO WAY IN HELL that the teams, coaches, or fans need to be subjected to some of the worst officiating that I have ever witnessed. NOTE: I did not say NEBRASKA does not hold and get away with it at times. I do not believe that our guys are angels either and commit no wrong. Does anyone have the stat on how many times our offense has been called vs the other teams. If we are getting called for holding alot, we need to chew the coaches arses for not teaching the proper holding moves, cause ZACH is getting KILLED. The BIG X12 really neads to address this and find out WHY so many calls are being missed. THIS IS JUST FOOD FOR THOUGHT. 1) Did the refs get together and decide to have their own little protest against the trial of "instant replay" and call a looser game., or 2)were they told by the conference higher ups to be a little easier on certain calls because they were going to review a certain amount of plays a game and the time limits of the TV contracts say. "we must have games finished in a reasonably predictable time frame or we will not be able to satisify our air time for other games causing monetary damage, causing us to leave your games prematurely and give the air time to other conferences games." with these considerations you must decide if you want a very long game with penalties and replay or just one of the other. I would think that they would want the longest games possible and charge different rates for the later commercials are ran (NO I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY CONTRACT OR CARE TO. THIS IS HYPOTHETICAL AND TO GIVE THE CONSPIRICY BELIEVERS SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT OR WORRY ABOUT BESIDES WHO SHOT JFK.) I TRUELY BELIEVE THAT IF THEY MAKE PUBLIC ANY RESULTS OF THEIR INVESTIGATION AGAINST BC, THEY NEED TO MAKE PUBLIC WHAT CAME ABOUT FROM THE CHILDISH BEHAVIOR THAT THAT OLD BASTARD OF A REF DISPLAYED. LET THE PLAYERS PLAY AND THE BEST TEAM WILL WIN. CALL THE GAME FAIR AND EVERYONE WILL GO HOME KNOWING THAT THEY PLAYED 11 VS 11 AND THE BEST TEAM WON. WE ALWAYS HAVE SAID THAT THE GAME IS 4 QTRS LONG AND BOTH TEAMS WILL GET A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF BREAKS AND IT IS WHAT YOU DO WITH YOURS THAT WILL DETERMINE IF YOU GO HOME HAPPY OR SAD. GO HUSKERS!!!!!!!
  8. I agree, Why would you be willing to BURN his red shirt year for a few games that may or may not help him or the team? Let the seniors and the others that have earned their spot finish this out., and believe me, THEY HAVE EARNED IT. They know that they were part of one of if not the LOWEST point in HUSKER HISTORY, but they should be able to say that we finished 2005 on a positive note and we NEVER GAVE UP, and that is what the HUSKERS of the future are built on,(work ethics, personal pride and the KNOWLEDGE taht we did the best that we could do) do not forget about the ones that quit after last year and did not "FINISH THE GAME" We know that Taylor is a tough kid who is willing to give his football life to the TEAM and try to win. Stick Beck in there and you could get him hurt or break his spirit, when he gets pummled like Zach has. Why take the chance? Zach has made some bad plays and decisions, but he has shown a trait that very few HUSKER QB's have had to or been able to show in their carrers. THE POISE AND ABILITY to help bring the team back from 21+ down and fight untill the end. all while being sacked as much as a bunch of patatos in idaho. Ask yourself how many of our past GREAT QB's have had to do what this kid has had to deal with, and then remember the GREAT LINES they got to play behind. This is a YOUNG TEAM with a 1+ year old system, Do not expect perfection out of the gate and the end result will be so much SWEETER when we are back in CONTROL of our opponents and we are the ENVY of the football world. HAVE FAITH, HUSKER FANS. THE ROAD MAY HAVE A FEW BUMPS IN IT AND WE MAY HAVE A FLAT TIRE NOW AND THEN, BUT WE ARE STILL THE HUSKER NATION AND WE ARE ON OUR WAY BACK TO THE FINISH LINE AND THE CHECKERED FLAG
  9. I have a gut feeling that our BELOVED BLACK SHIRTS and our OFFENSE will show up and play against a overconfident ks team that is thinking "hey, we beat mo. and they killed the HUSKERS, so we should kick their arse." (WRONG) and we will be the more PHYSICAL team and we will come out of ks. with a VICTORY of at least 17-21 points if we start slow. If we Start out the game with the attitude I believe they will have, it could be a yardage explosion that neither team thought could happen. START OUT FAST AND BREAK THEIR SPIRIT AND WE WILL OWN THEM BY HALFTIME. Start slow and we will be in a fight untill the fourth quarter. GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I don't know how Bc kept his cool as long as he did. SORRY THIS IS A BIT LONG, and I may have had one to many beers, but it is MY OPINION and I,M sticking to it. As far as I am concerned, I do not have a problem with either situation. BC's) After the frustration of seeing the same old referees doing there best to not call any holding against the NCAA leaders in SACKS and knowing that the missed calls at the time probably sealed the HUSKERS a home field loss and drop them from the north division title race, I do not then, now, nor will I in the future hold anything like that against BC. I am supprised that he did not grab the DUMB ASS and choke the sh#t out of him. Hell I will help out and donate some money to pay his fine if he uses this as a motivation factor that causes the HUSKER PLAYERS to use this as a attitude spring board and go into their next 4 games with a f#*k the world attitude and play the rest of the year with a "COME AND GET YOUR ASS WHOOP-IN, AND MAKE SURE YOUR FAMILY AINT WATCHIN, CAUSE YOU ARE GOING TO BE TREATED LIKE A BLIND ZEBRA IN AFRICA DURING FEEDING TIME FOR THE LION PRIDE." Here is a call to all HUSKER FANS NATION WIDE. "Be the bigger person and do not dwell on the lack of calls, instead use it as a source of pride and anger and go out and DESTROY each and every team that we play reguardless of the officiating." The pricks that want BC's head for this, should have to face our DEFENSE after a game or 8 games with only 1 holding call. If it is possible for a team to go a whole game without committing a holding call, I say give the entire coaching staff a GAME ball for the discipline and game preperation they have done. As far as the usc stunt, I laughed my arse off and thought it was a great way to get their mind off of the bcs title race and refocus their energy to complete the season. I believe that texas will beat them in the end and they still have to beat ucla. Now for a final thought, question. What do you think espweenie or the rest of the HUSKER HATING media and poll voters would have done if it was spurrier, joepa. wiess, bowden or even the golden boy carrol that made the same gesture as BC. Now that you have answered that question ask yourself, " what would they have said about T.O. after something like that?" OH thats right, we allready know. From the way they talked sh#t about the GREATEST FOOTBALL COACH in recent times if not all times after the lp mistake.f#*k THEM f#*k THE OPINIONS OF THE REST OF THE NATION, MEDIA AND sCUM FANS, WE ARE OUR OWN WORST CRITICS AND WE WILL BE BACK, MAY THE REST OF THE ncaa GET ON THEIR KNEES AND PAY HOMAGE TO THEIR WORST f'ing NIGHTMARE. A HUSKER RETURN TO BIG XII NORTH DIVISION, CONFRENCE AND NCAA DIV.1 DOMINANCE. BRING ON THE little birds from ks, the purple pecker puffers form the other school in ks, and that group of deprived monkey spankers out west that spend as much time in a "pay by the hour, get grinded from behind hotel" as they do in school. WE ARE THE ENVY OF ALL OF OUR HATERS, THEY LOVE THE FACT THAT WE HAVE BEEN DOWN AND THEY PRAY TO WHATEVER GOD THEY BELIEVE IN, THAT WE WILL NOT COME BACK. LITTLE DO THEY KNOW GO BIG f'ing RED I BELIEVE IN YOU.
  11. I would think that after the confrontation between the ref and BC that the big twelve comm. office would look into it. Will they make a public statement or anything of that nature, I doubt it. I believe that the schools can ask them to review the officiating crews game performance and if they find a trend they should act on it. I know if I made as many flagrant mistakes at my job as it seems these guys are, I would be looking for another job.
  12. As far as iI am concerned, cosgrove can take the 3 man rush and stick it in his ASS. Our players have a responsibility to play the game the way the coaches call it. Some times they each will make mistakes, but the 3 man rush has been . GO HUSKERS!!!!! P.S. NO MORE 3 MAN RUSH
  13. I know we are not the only team that does not get calls, but ONE holding call in EIGHT games is getting old. Even the abc people made a refrence to that fact. As for the question "should Callahan be fined?" HELL NO!!!!!
  14. I think the kid had to much MOOSE HEAD. GO HUSKERS!!!!
  15. stll doing it and still having fun at it. but I doubt you will get mor than $15.00 for a good pelt now. Some ranchers will pay ypu per head or set of ears you bring back. What a great way to blow off some steam in the cold of winter.
  16. Styx on the eight trac and your girl or your best friends sister or both in the back seat watching the submarine races at the lake, PLEASE ,SOMEONE INVENT THE TIME MACHINE ALREADY.
  17. I like to co to Yahoo odd news. If you are having a bad day look at what other people put up with. A great way to start the day. GREAT POST
  18. You mean to tell Me that people really make fuel out of this stuff. How do they keep it from plugging the fuel filters with those little kernals.
  19. Johnny, I hope that your arm will heal completley and that you do not rush the recovery if you have to have the big O on the arm. I watched Dorn play legion ball last year and I hope he continues improving and I can watch him at the next level also. It is great to see a local kid excell and be able to help out the HUSKERS My thoughts and prayers are with you. GO HUSKERS!!!!!!
  20. I don't get this statement. Pud gave him permission to talk to Childress. It was only a matter of time before he left for a HC job anyway. There probably wasn't much Pud could do to stop this. Now we will see how good Anderson really is. I have no doubt that each of them helped in their own way to keep our program where it is. I would have been happy with either of them being our head coach after Van horne left. Every one had to know that one or the other was going to want to lead his own team and put his mark on the game. Coach Anderson will do just fine and we will be back in Omaha soon if not next year. If we are not I will guarentee that it has more to do with the compitition in the Big 12 and less with whether Coach Childress is here or not. He was an asset to our team and Mike was lucky to have him. Now it is Time to grow and spread your own wings. Good luck to you Rob, I'm sure you will do a great job as a head coach. He will be missed but he did not by himself get us to a school record in wins and our first victory at the CWS. IT IS CALLED A TEAM ATTITUDE that gets you this far and if any of the pieces had broken down the season would have been a lot different. GO HUSKERS!!!!!!!
  21. What a class act for a person with his skills and instincts. It is a shame that he didn't have a great world series at the plate, but he knows that the game is baseball and even the greatest hitters of all time are below .500. Alex is the type of player you may see once or twice in a program or a life time. GOOD LUCK at the next level and THANKS for the role model you provided to countless Nebraska youngsters. GO HUSKERS!!!!!
  22. I am not suprised with the owh running with the story with out getting the truth first. I would think that the biggest paper in the state would go out of its way to write something positive about each of the players attending the elite camp and let the word of mouth get out what a class act we have for media in this state, how player friendly the state is. Not, the attitude that they put out, there is no room for a 16-18 year old to be late to a sumer camp. Oh well thats why I come here and get the news and then wait for the owh to verify it. GO HUSKERS!!!!!!
  23. I say retire it and let it be brought out only under a very specific condition. The player wishing to wear #18 would have to be a senior, He would have to be nominated and chosen by a committee of people that include: former players that knew Brook, current players, media, and if possible a member of Brooks family. He also would have to have spent the last three to four years meeting a set of standards that Brook met as a way of life. Brook was a human being that had his own faults but I have never met a person with the team first and others first attitude. Good luck to the person that could meet all of the off the field requirements and still not complain about sitting on the bench and waiting for a shot. Playing with pain, not small pain, but pain that would put MOST players on the bench for a long time. I say retire it with those conditions and it will take a special young man to wear a special #. Go HUSKERS!!!!!!!!!
