  1. There is a setting for auto passing you can toggle on and off. I don't use it myself, but I assume the only situation it would be of any use is on PA passes where the D always seems to be 5 yards into the backfield before you can even set your feet. I just started on 2011, but I have already noticed a few problems I'm not real pleased with. The outrageous leaping ability of the CPU's LBs, DE's with better acceleration than 90+ rated RBs, and I'm not sure if this is just me or what, but the last game I played I didn't earn any skill or strategy points. Not sure if that was just a fluke, or if there is a reason for it. Not a big deal really as long as what I heard about points not counting towards player attributes and are just for user standing. Which I hope is the case, because I just figured out how to earn strategy points before that.... All in all 2011 doesn't seem that much different than the same ol' NCAA FB games I've been shelling out my hard earned cash on every couple of years for the last decade or so. Oh the sacrifices we make to survive the off season huh? Once I refresh my skills a bit I'll probably try out the on line dynasty. How do you fellas feel about online? Is the recruiting as frustrating as I've been hearing? And can other other players vs. you as your opponent during the season, or is it just a solo endeavor?

  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc5rxu9zCKY Yeah, so after watching The Black Keys perform on SNL a while back I remember thinking; "What's with all the hype this band's been getting?" "They don't seem that great to me." Meanwhile, I found myself really diggin this cat Dan Auerbach's stuff after hearing him on Dax Riggs' Pandora station. Come to find out, Dan Auerbach pretty much IS The Black Keys. Now I'm thinking I should give those guys another listen......
  4. We all sucked at that game for the first couple months Yep, the first few weeks playing online where pretty rough. The game took a little getting used to in the beginning, but I fought through it and have gotten pretty decent now. Black Ops is my first COD game and I wasn't a huge fan of the previous titles, but since it was an x-mas gift from my brother I had to give it a shot. I won't lie, I still lay a deucer every now and again. I'll have matches where I drop below 1.00 K/D, but that's usually when I'm playing Capture the flag or Headquarters and I'm more concerned with upgrading my perks (Which is hella addicting btw and probably what sucked me in the most.) than getting tons of kills. It's funny though, other than a few issues I had when I first picked the game up. Namely too few levels, and the inconsistent melee system. (Seriously, how often can I be killed by a 6in blade from 10ft away? ) I found that the complaints I hear about why others don't like the game are the same reasons that I do like it. It's may be because the changes made by Trey Arch (sp?) makes the game feel a little bit more like 'Rainbow 6 L.V. 2'. Which to me is great, but to others may have be frustrating. All in all I think it's a good game. I had to put it down for a while though. After working my ass off for most of my Perk Pros I decided to start in on NCAA FB so that I don't get completely burned out on it. Once the DLC comes out I'm sure I'll be back for more. In the meantime if anyone wants to frag, or if you're still playing NCAA 2011 my user name on PSN is Dr_Danko. I'm usually not on until the middle of the night, but for the night owls out there feel free to add me if you want. All I play is capture the flag. Sometimes I defend the flag and sometimes I put on a running class and go after the flag. Last year. MW2, melee was terrible. I could start the knife like 10 ft. away from the person and your character just lunges into them. This year I usually miss when I try and knife someone. I've been playing COD since COD 3 and I sucked at it for like 5 months and then I became okay. Now im a little above average. My KD ratio is 1.46 but thats bc I play capture the flag and watch the flag most of the time. Yeah I sucked some serious ass when I first started playing it. If it wasn't for the perks I might not have played as much as I have the last few months. My overall K/D ratio would probably be much higher but I found myself rarely equipping the Pro Perks once I got them because I just moved on to the next ones I wanted to upgrade. I do need to work on my kill streaks though. Unless I'm using Hardline I rarely get past 5-7 kills in a row before dying. I still don't get how some guys can get Rolling Thunder kill streaks when we're only a couple minutes into the match. O well, maybe that's a sign that I'm still just a lowly noob in the COD world. Edit: While I'm here, what are some of your favorite weapons and load outs? I was using the AK47U or the MPL w/ S.O.H, Hacker and Hardline when I first started, but after playing CTF for weeks on end I found the lightweight perk to be pretty handy in most other game modes to.
  5. Very underrated band IMO. They had they're biggest success with the song "C'mon C'mom", some may recognize it as the theme song from the TV show 'Rescue Me'. Detroit has always produced some great American rock bands, but more often than not they end up overshadowed by less talented and more "polished" groups from the coasts. (Of course it doesn't help your band much when your record company's owner Jack White, spent more time and energy attacking their lead singer in a club then promoting their damn albums. ) O well, I guess we can't all sell a million records.....

  8. Damn, the quality of this thread has improved by leaps and bounds the last several months. I'm loving the variety also. Everything from Bad Brains to the Townes Van Zant has been in the rotation recently. My work schedule still sucks ass so I've been lagging behind a bit, but I'll do my part to keep this thread ripping with the backlog of vids I've been meaning to post.
  9. Am I the only Huskerboarder who thinks Russel Brand ('Get Him To The Greek') looks like a gay neanderthal?

  10. Nice Fred Willard tat! 'Today Show' MF'ers represent!!! Just messin' bro. Looks like you got some quality ink there. I really like the stadium entrance w/ the statues, pretty clean work from what I can tell. Where'd you have it done and how much did it set you back IYDMMA? (Now cue VincefromShamWow to spew his tired crap about how tats are only for criminals, sluts and morons..... )
  11. Money doesn't buy championships..........unless your team plays in the SEC.
  12. not trying to pester, but is your uncle a higher up at the university or a big time booster? not trying to figure out who he is, just how he got the info if you know what i mean. I don't blame you at all for being skeptical, and until there is an official announcement this is all speculation. I'm not going to try and convince you to believe my word anymore than the last guy here with a "source". I'm personally willing to trust his word, but that only because anytime he's been confident enough (or excited enough) to let us in on big news, he has always been on the mark. All I'll say about my uncle is that he may or may not have attended a large #$@*#& gathering in Lincoln tonight. And he may or may not be the owner of a successful ^%$#*@#@*&^ company in Western NE. I can tell you that he definitely attended UNL sometime in the last century, and that my uncle is certainly not Dr Tom. Yes I'm being purposefully vague, but that's only because I'm not sure how tightly this info was supposed to be kept to his vest. Considering the line of questioning for Bo by the local beats tonight, and the fact that the same thing was being discussed on this bored for over two days, and I'd guess it wasn't all that close. Still though, there's no point in me crapping in the candy bowl when I may be offered another piece someday.
  13. "Oh the sun is shining. And the weather is sweet. It makes me want to move my dancing feet!".............Finally the other shoe is about to drop! Thanks for the memories fellas, now don't let the door hit ya!! : P

  14. After the conversation I just had I'm now 99.9% sure that the hammer is finally going to drop! Watts, Sanders, and Gilmore are all on there way out. From what I was told most of the rumors that folks have been ridiculing posters for the last few days where spot on. Beck/Frost will be co-offensive cord, along with the addition of Corey Raymond from Indiana. Supposedly no recruits have chosen to bail just yet, all except Starling who as has been speculated about before has one foot firmly out the door. I am usually the last person to throw in my two cents about the inner workings of UNL. In large part because I'm not an alumni, I'm not a booster (unless the thousands of dollars of Husker swag I've bought over the years counts )and I've never been employed by the athletic dept. So In all honestly I usually don't know much about the backroom drama going on there, and don't really care enough to bother those who do just to make myself fell important. But this info was unsolicited and I believe my "source" is more than credible. Who's my source? My uncle. Who's my uncle? None of your damn business!
  15. Ankrah definitely has the physical tools to be a hell of a player. But you have to remember this is February. The time of year when a grainy H.S. highlight tape and boat loads of 'potential' can easily trump the strides made by a 2nd string RsFr with 3 years in a top notch S&D program under his belt........Or at least that is what a lot of fans seem to believe around this time of year. It's great to be optimistic about these young men's futures at NU, but it's unrealistic to think that a half dozen or so FR and Jucos will be able to step into starting roles in their first year with the team. Sure there will always be freakish athletes that are hands down the best at their position from day one. But more often than not it's either a glaring weakness at the position, (like Zac Taylor in '05' or TMart this season) or a string of injuries that causes a player to start much earlier than expected. (Like Lavonte David this year) There normally aren't as many personnel changes in one off season as fans like to clamor for. Mainly because the players coming in just aren't developed enough at 17, 18, 19 years old to compete right away. And that's partially why I think Lil Red's line-up will be pretty close to what we see next fall. NU should have enough quality players returning with game experience and knowledge of the system to make early playing time a lot harder for first year guys to earn than it has in the recent past. Which IMO is the best possible scenario for this team. Going into 2011 with experienced starters along with quality depth behind them will be essential for NU if they want to succeed in bringing an aggressive, hard nosed style of football to the Big10.
  16. i know, but hey no dead horse heads in a bed yet right? No, but there are plenty of them being beaten though. Rick rolls, Ron Burgandy quotes, ancient Frankie rumors, and boosters wife jokes. Yep, this thread is about as current as............well, Rick Astley.
  17. "When people listen to you, don't you know it means a lot. Cause' you've got to work so hard for everything you've got. Can't rest on your laurels now - not when you've got none. You'll find yourself in the gutter, right back where you came from...."
  18. My current work schedule hasn't allowed me much time to post, but it's good to see my favorite thread is still getting plenty of mileage. Toots & the Maytals- Pomps and Pride
  19. I would LOVE to say I agree with this sentiment, but I saw absolutely nothing from our O-line this season that would lead me to that conclusion.
  20. Am I the only one who expected a Monty Python reference?
  21. Almost to the point of embarrassing? Oh it's gone way past that point by now. This offense is down right pathetic!
  22. What a wonderfully mediocore team this turned out to be. Congrats Huskers, I couldn't be less proud of you!
