  1. mmmmmmmm...Bacon! I like you already, you had ME at bacon.
  2. Disappointment is completely relative to expectations. When you start the year #3 your expectations are higher than 5-3 with losses to BYU and Miami. Come on guys, are they better than us? Absolutely. Starting the season, NU at 5-3 is about right. OU at 5-3 is national news.
  3. Faith Hill is teh hottness. Most beautiful woman in the world. Then she has that look like, when we get home I'm gonna do things to you you can't even buy on the street. Oh ya, I love me some Faith Hill.
  4. Yes Hotties and Husker gear week is here....Big Bang Theory, Sandra Bullock, next.....Faith hill in nothing but a Husker helmet and cleats. Hell Yeah!
  5. You can pretty much take ownership of 25% of this thread, though. It's been a team effort between you and a couple of other guys, but you have done your share to perpetuate this. 6. F THAT SH IT!! It is nowhere near as bad as '07 at this point. I would trade defense for offense for the side that is performing at a high level. At least this D can keep us in the game and possibly score points. Why is everyone giving up? This is the same gloom and doom that we had last year at 4-3 and 5-3 and we finished with 9 wins and a Gator Bowl. We are still in this race, especially with the North the way it is. Come on Husker fans, question things, wonder what ifs if you want, but don't give up. I don't know about you, but I was raised in Nebraska. Along with at least 6 generations of both sides of my family. Nebraskans don't give up. It just isn't the way we operate. We give everything we have and if it isn't good enough we go back to work, fix it, and get better no matter what the challenge is. We congratulate the best and work our ass off to get to be the best. Doing it right won't happen overnight, but if you work at it you develop a habit out of it and sustain it. That is culture, that is what they talk about it. That is the Nebraska way of doing things. This is what we were missing. It took 4 years to destroy the Nebraska way, it may take that long, or longer, to put that system back in place. I believed we would win every game, but I also understand it isn't the end of the program if we don't. Bo is going to need more than 1 1/2 years to turn this thing around. Wear Red, Be Loud, Beat Oklahoma. GO BIG RED!!
  7. No...they are not a disappointment. They've only lost to two teams, at home, they never should have lost to. Are no longer starting the best QB, and the o-line can't open consistant holes through news paper. A team that should be, at worst, 7 -1 but is 5-3 with one of those loses being to ISU at home, is a disappointment. If they lose anymore games this year, with the exception of this Saturday, they will have moved from disappointment to joke. I won't argue that we aren't disappointing, and I didn't look at the list, but where is OU on there? NU is two plays away from 7-1 (one fumble against ISU and one long pass play at VT). OU has three losses and started the year #3 in the country. I would put them at #1.

  9. We'll see what he does next year when he gets all the doubles Suh is getting now. Agreed.
  10. why the hell does it always take the spaces out of your posts so it looks like a jumbled up mess? That pisses me off.
  11. Straight from huskers.com: I am not saying that he is as good as Suh and that it didn't make a huge difference having him next to him, but you could argue that he is having a better statistical year than Ndamukong!
  12. I agree 100%... so give the kid all of the reps in practice. At this point, do you really think Zac needs half the snaps in practice to be a serviceable backup? I don't understand this thinking, but I'm also not in practice everyday or a Division 1 football coach so I will leave it at I don't understand. Not that they are wrong.
  13. Wow, that is impressive. Who else besides Suh and Dorsey? Who was it at OU, I'm drawing a blank....
  14. Yes, please just name the starter. Maybe Cody could grasp the playbook if Lee didn't feel that he would be giving up his "edge to starting" by helping him learn. I know they say all the right things, but if you believe he isn't holding some stuff back because it is a competition, I don't know what to tell you. Make a decision, stick with it, and at this point give that guy all the reps with the first team. I understand developing depth, but at this point, after what has happened, I would say the first team needs a hell of a lot or reps together in practice. Just my $.02.
  15. I was thinking about that yesterday...the only thing I can come up with, living in Nevada, is that the people betting on Nebraska are betting on their memories of what the old rivalry was. They obviously haven't watched the offense on this football team. Take OU and give the points...trust me, bet the house. I know that a lot of people will systematically play the home dog especially in big rivalries, but I have to agree with you. I keep looking for ways that we are going to stay in this game, and I keep coming up blank. I am going to this game (first of the year) and I would love nothing more than to witness the upset, but I'm going to be a realist and realize that the odds are not in our favor. I made the mistake of being over confident at the Big 12 Championship against Oklahoma a few years back. All I came out of Arrowhead with was dissapointment and frostbite. Son of a Bitch it was cold that night! My "hot cocoa" froze sitting on the floor between plays. Never been to a game that cold in my life.
  16. What, there are pics of Suh drinking at a bar prior to this? We already know he had alcohol in his system. The only way this could "blow up" is if there's a pic of the FST showing greater than .08. Without that, there's never going to be a bigger story. Bo Pelini stating that Suh was at someone's house was a sleeping is false. I was going to leave this alone, but you keep bringing it up. I have a good friend from St. Louis whose brother was in town this weekend, used to play for a CFL team as an OL. He looks EXACTLY like Suh. I mean doppleganger stuff here! My friend lives down on Q at 180th or so and they went out to west O bars Sat night. He was asked so many times, he decided to pretend he is Suh because he hates Husker fans and their obsessions with the players. I don't know if they went to the Drafthouse, I will call my friend tonight. Just sayin'....did you check "Suh's" ID when you got your pic snapped?
  17. this is exactly what I'm talking about. BEAT OKLAHOMA!
  18. There was a time that we always believed we could beat OU. There was a time that you looked forward to this week all season. There was a time that you looked for revenge when your only true rival embarrassed you the year before. I know somethings have changed, but god dammit grow a pair and get ready for OU. Stop the bitching, whining, and crying about the other games and get excited. I know there are questions to ask and that is fine, but stop all this give up bullsh#t. That, boys, is not the Nebraska way. WE NEVER GIVE UP. WE PLAY FRIGGIN' OKLAHOMA THIS WEEK! For one week lets allow ourselves to love this program for all the reasons we have always loved them. Crisp fall days, a full stadium in Lincoln, and Oklahoma coming to town. Regardless of the circumstances, or even when it takes place for that matter, this is a special week. Always has been, always will be. This is what Nebraska football is about, baby! Wear Red, Be Loud, Beat Oklahoma.
  19. See Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley. I don't doubt we can hold OU to 13....I'm just not sure we score 7. edit: fixed error
  20. From the World-Herald: This might have something to do with him "staring" down receivers? When you only have two wideouts and the RB to progress through, it will definitely look like you are locked onto a receiver. Just sayin', maybe with a new game plan we don't see this?
  21. Pretty much the same way that every NFL team does it. Pretty much the same way any other balanced offense across the country in Division 1 football does it. Were you serious with that comment? Maybe I missed the sarcasm, and if so sorry for that.
  22. Can I be Darry? Whatever trips your trigger man. You missed it, man. You should have said, "Stay gold, Pony Boy." Dammit!
