  1. Wife and I had a convo about ditching cable today. She is concerned about not being able to watch NU volleyball. We can watch with HULU yes?
I know many of you have cut the cord but I only glance at the conversations.

If you're mainly concerned about Nebraska sports, Hulu and YouTube TV provide the best value. Playstation Vue is not far behind. Sling TV, even if you get the Blue and Orange package together is less expensive, but they do not have BTN which is a deal breaker. DirecTV Now is pretty expensive. To get BTN, plus the ESPN and Fox Sports channels that carry Nebraska sports, it is almost equivalent to a cable bill.

Whoever you choose, take advantage of the free trial. And during the free trial, pick out some live sporting events and see if you have 'buffering' issues. I picked Hulu a couple of years ago and after a few  months I had to switch due to the interruptions and skipping during live sports events. I tried Hulu again this year and had the same problems. My internet connection is fast enough (70 mbps) and I don't have that issue with Playstation Vue or YouTube TV.

The wildcard as far as volleyball is concerned is games on NET. If you can pick them up with a local digital antenna, then you don't have to worry. I live out of state so I don't have that option. Sometimes they (NET) stream the game on their website, sometimes they don't. When they don't, BTN will sometimes pick up the game on one of their alternate channels. But there were times last year when I ended up listening to John Baylor on the radio because the game was broadcast by NET only. Still, John Baylor on the radio is not a bad option.

What you said about cost is true. I think when we signed up for PlayStation Vue, for our package, he was something like $40 or $45. Now our monthly bill is just north of $60.

Honestly it's more than I'd like to pay, so I've looked at the other services to see about switching. But our experience with Vue has been great and none of the other services offer the same bang for the buck we get with our current package.

Keep in mind that we get the second highest tier offering. So 4 I've just bit the bullet and stayed, mostly because it almost always works like it should and it comes with essentially unlimited DVR.
