  1. This thread is insanity. I thought the same thing. This thread needs a response from PhillyHusker (I think that's his name anyway), his sig. could distract all of us.
  2. D@mn, Clemson @ 46. Then again, maybe you can!..................I kid, I kid.......
  3. Tebow is going to walk accross the stage next year to receive his diploma tripping over Heisman, National Championship, and Bowl MVP trophies, but he'd only be better than around half of the Big12 QBs?........ooooohhhhh kaaaaaayyyyy.
  4. bahh...It just sounds to me like the writer needed to say something so he just picked up on the fact we got blown out a couple of times. you can't acurately capsulize this team's season, or any team's for that matter, in one sentence.
  5. I had a nightmare about Suh as well, I was watching the 2009 NFL draft...and he was in it.
  6. TF 5.7 ypc vs TT 4.2 ypc and I ain't buying that Florida's OL isn't pretty damn good. Also Florida did not (and still doesn't really) have a useful running back. Tommie had 3 good options: keep it, give it to Correy, or give it to LP. I'd guess most of the times he ran the ball he had those options. Oh, I absolutely agree. Frazier had a ton more weapons at his disposal than Tebow does. As far as OLs go neither one of them rack up those kinds of numbers without an OL that isn't about the best out there. Frazier was also alot less selfish when running the option than Tebow is. And I'm not knocking Tebow any, he keeps it most of the time because he usually is the best option.
  7. WHY? 9-4 works for me in his first year. I like our chances against anyone next year.....respect few, fear none. Thanks for the attitude Coach.
  8. I don't necessarily buy the Tommie was a better rusher than Tim argument. Frazier rushed for a carreer total of 1,955 yds on 342 attempts, with 36 TDs. Tebow rushed for a career total of (so far) 2037 yds on 475 attempts with 43 TDs. Also, Tebow is not THAT much bigger than Frazier was when he played - 6 2, 210 vs. 6 3, 240. All that being said, statistics mean a whole lotta nothing really, the real question is who do YOU want in there with the game on the line? And with these two it's a toss up. I'll still take 'Touchdown Tommie' anyday. Personally, I like newearthhusker's analogy the best. Only question is; who's your bacon?
  9. Exactly? Well nothing. But they are NOTRE DAME for goodness sakes! You know Rudi? It's owed them!
  10. You don't think beating the final ranked #6 team (Alabama) and the #7 team (TCU) is good enough? Texas ended #3 and only beat one top 10 team. Florida that ended up #1 by beating the #5 (OU) and #10 (Georgia) with a cumulative average a full point in ranking behind Utah, and they lost a game at home. Utah got the biggest shaft ever in D1 because they were the only team to go undefeated and beat the powerhouse teams only to take one straight up the tailpipe from the BCS. It's not like they ended up #2 being on a level playing field because Florida was a 1 loss team which makes Utah superior to them. It's not like they beat Alabama on a fluke play or anything. They dominated the OL and DL of scrimmage. They beat Alabama worse than Florida beat them. Totally a shame if you ask me what happened to Utah. They did everything exactly how you're supposed to in order to win a NC, and they get passed over by a one loss team. At the very least, they should have been co-NC. I agree a hundred percent.
  11. Wow, no respect for the Utes either. NU may be ready to challenge Kansas next year? I agree, waaaaay to early to speculate.
  12. Really? I'm not so sure on that. Not really an NFL guy. Is he better than Vince Young in college, I don't think so. Now realize that and then look at Vince Young right now. Name me one QB from a spread-type run first offense that has been a success in the NFL. There isn't one, save Michael Vick if you count him. Maybe Tebow can do it, but he doesn't have the accuracy or arm strength VY had in college, so how he could start for any team I don't understand. Yeah most project him as an H-Back in the NFL. And yes he could start for NU over Ganz, easily. Especially the Zone Read offense NU ran this year. Right up his alley as a dual threat. And for the recruiting process, wasn't he the one that had the TV special on him in Florida as a Senior? If so I thought he said in that show that he grew up a Gator fan and his dream was to go to Florida, wasn't really a doubt I don't think in the end. My point being that he's more than qualified to start for NU. As far as the NFL goes, I don't know, I can think of alot teams off the top of my head that would probably take him in a heartbeat; Detroit, Cincinatti, Cleveland, Minnesota, Seatle, Oakland, KC, Chicago Cincinatti? You think he's better than Carson Palmer, holy sh#t. Seattle? Ever heard of Matt Hasselbeck? Oakland? Just drafted JaMarcus Russell, remember the last big thing from college Cleveland? Brady Quinn? come on, you really think Tebow is a better NFL type QB than Quinn was at the same point in their careers. Minnesota already has a run first learn to throw QB that is faster in Jackson. KC--I could see that argument, they are rebuilding. Chicago--think they'd rather have somebody more ready like Stafford or Bradford. NFL ready to match with that defense and RB Detroit would just for interest, plus they are terrible at QB. Unless you were talking about as an Hback, than you are completely right. Hasselbeck: Threw 5 tds versus 10 picks with a qb rating of 57 on a 4-12 team. He's 33 and missed nine games with back and knee injuries. Palmer: Going into his eighth season after missing nearly all of last year UCL tear to his throwing elbow, and after coming back from what was called 'a devasting and potentially career ending injury' in 06 (I think it was 06 anyway). Granted two pro bowls are tough to argue with, but , even prior to the elbow injury he wasn't exactly lighting up the league. If I'm the Cincy GM I wouldn't mind having a Tebow learn under Palmer for a season or two. Quinn: Eh, allright, I'll give you Quin. Have to see how he does with his finger fully healed, and under his new coach. Think he had like three starts at the end of the season, pretty so-so, although he looked really good against Den in his first start - then again so did everyone else.

  14. The prototypical college linebacker does seem to be evolving a bit, favoring speed and athleticism over brute force. Florida certainly seems to have gotten the memo.
  15. He could run this offense better than Ganz? Yes. Yes he could. very cool coaster Dave.
  16. The first NC not to be ranked in the final top 25, works for me Actually the University of SC has about 102 of these National Championships, and 105 preseason National Championships. Right, forgot to give props to the coots...
  17. He could start at nearly any NFL franchise he wants too, course he'd a been the starter here.
  18. The first NC not to be ranked in the final top 25, works for me
  19. Yeah, I'll buy that. Henery makes a strong case. Suh, you the man. Now stay here for another year.
  20. I'da thought Utah would place higher in the coaches poll...strength of schedule strikes again I guess. As far as NU...meh...not too surprising, I doubt Bo is too distraught over it. We'll get there.
  21. The Wisconsin fans I talk to said thank you over and over again for taking him....they could not stand him. If this is true, I am going to laugh extremely hard. With the new stadium they are going to suck and let everyone beat them. A friend of mine happened to be in Madison when it was announced Cosgrove would be joining Callahan's staff, he said there were parties city wide. Again, I've got nothing personal against the man, I'm just glad he's gone. 114th in scoring defense, 112th in total defense, and 116th in rush defense. Yeah, just glad he's gone.
  22. I don't hate Cosgrove, I just don't think he's much of a coach or coordinator. His team did lose their blackshirts after all. No hard feelings though. Good luck to Kevin and the gophers..I guess..........
  23. True, but it did allow for alot quality drinking time.
