  1. i mean a lot of people do steroids sometime in there life to get them over the edge so to speak or bounce back from thos nagging injuries... i used to do steroids a lot when i was playing water polo and i think its naive to think you can just look at a person and tell that..... i mean you cant tell i did steroids in this picture can you from back in the day? see hard to tell huh....... HAHAHA you SOB, you owe me a keyboard. After tossing my cookies I cried all over the keys from laughter.
  2. Hmmm zoog, that is wrong in so many ways. Funny, but wrong.
  3. Beebe doing his damage control, he wants to put makeup on the pig. Tuberville is right, eventually the lower payroll teams will revolt and then Texas will have to figure out a way to get in a conference while keeping rights to their longhorn network. The only reason Texas stayed with the Big XII is because everyone else laughed at them when they said they want sole rights to their games for their network. No TV network would go for that so no conference will go for that. Thanks to the other 9 schools they are on life support.
  4. The US needs a player who can finish, plain and simple. Altidore is probably the laziest 20 year old i've ever seen. I have always questioned Bob Bradley's ability as a coach, but coming out and letting them score in the first 15 minutes rests solely on him for not getting them ready. Clark was the main cause of that but the defense had some blame and Howard played like he has never played an international game as well. Bradley can't light a fire under his teams and we need a coach who will bring the best to the WC. This US team will never get any farther than the quarter finals with Gulati as the pres and Bradley as the coach. These guys simply can't compete with the worlds soccer powers with that much interference and lack of passion from a coach. Just my opinion of course.
  5. Clarke is Beasley Jr, neither should be representing the USA. Both are lazy and both are worthless.
  6. Quite possibly true, UTerus can't win without the help of others. Come on now, there's no chance they'd give it a fair shot.
  7. View here and vote You can vote for new Texas license plates to be approved, there is a Nebraska plate in the mix. Hope this is where it would go in the board, but if not go ahead and move it guys. GBR!!!
  8. As others have said, this kid is all heart and the epitome of what it means to be a Nebraskan(even if he's a Texan). He is a hard worker, blue collar type of kid and I for one will root for this kid no matter what. Do us proud Jamal, we're all behind you 110%.
  9. ronsss I have to ask, are you dyslexic? No I am not being sarcastic, but I noticed penili instead of Pelini in every one of your posts? If I know the answer to that then i'll know to not worry about the spelling and read what I know you meant.
  10. I've played since I was 4, and I also held a scholarship for it at Creighton. The game itself is not about how fast you can run or anything like that, in general it's a finesse game. The whole game is basically strategy of trying to get the constant movement of the game to score a goal. No other sport has this, there are constant breaks in every game other than soccer. We constantly run for two 45 minute halves with a 15 minute break in between. Rugby would be the most closely related sport in that it's constant movement into space, so you have to have the endurance no other sport really has. I know many former soccer players who played football and will tell you that soccer it's 10 times harder than football due to the endurance factor. They say that on average a soccer player runs the equivalent of 10 miles a game, I'm sure some do more and some do a little less, but that is a lot of running. I also have had American football players tell me there's no hitting in the game, then I showed them just how wrong they were when I gave them a ball and told them to come at me with speed. It doesn't look like it, but some slide tackles tend to hurt and you can really nail someone in my favorite game. From about High School on the games a lot more intense and though they are low scoring, makes for a great game. Take away 5 of the 6 points for a touchdown, and American football wouldn't have 21-3 scores either. We have no 3 point line or a field goal that gives us extra points, we have 1 and only 1 way to score. As my bumper sticker says, "Men play football, Intelligent men play soccer"
  11. It's hard watching a Bradley coached US squad. The team has no fire, and no leadership. Looking like they are too busy being sissies rather than take the shot, lets just pass a wide open shot and give the ball away. Our defense is getting eatin up out there and there will be no changes to shore that up. We lose today and next week I wont have to watch the US suck for the rest of the tournament.
  12. UTerus U there played the politics and I think they bit off more than they could chew this time. They found out that no other conference will allow them to actually have their own network, so they got stuck staying where they could have that network. UTerus thought the Pac-10 would give in because they are Texas, unfortunately for them they were told no, so they took their ball and went home. Now we have 8 other school suckling the teet from Uterus U and they will all end up suffering in the near future. Still another 5 years before a TV deal can be received, thats quite a bit off.
  13. Maybe it's different between how Football players get scholarships, but to be offered in soccer you have to have already applied to the school and received an admission to the said school. If Michigan extended a scholarship to this young man, wouldn't they, legally, have to adhere to it? I could be way off because football does do some things differently then other sports, but who knows.
  14. Sure is showing a lot of faith in our Huskers. We seem to keep moving up as the off season progresses. I'm not sure, but while I drink the kool aid i'll be happy with being preseason favorites for the first time in a long time.
  15. I think we're screwed this WC. I have never liked Bradley as a coach as he does play favorites. Davies should have been given a chance because he was a fire for the team during a couple of the qualifiers. Altidore is lazy, he watches the play rather than moving to space or making a break to give people an outlet pass. Don't even get me started on Bradley Jr, the kid doesn't belong on the National team and is only there because of his dad. In my opinion, as long as we have a second tier MLS coach, we'll never amount to much in the world standings. The team has no fire and Bradley can't bring anything to this team. I wish we'd have coaxed Klinnsman into coaching the team, he's an attacking coach and the type of coach that would put the best players out there, not his favorites. As long as Gulati is head of the US Soccer governing body, we'll never have a good team, he wants to micromanage way too much.
  16. I say let them try it, and that I hope they fall flat on their faces. I'm tired of Texas thinking that they are the epitome of the Big XII and they should have the most say in how it's ran and how money is distributed. They want to go it on their own, let them, that would be by far the best thing to happen to the Big XII conference, after the firing of Beebee of course. He is the coward that allows this to go on, so he will be the scape goat when the Big XII fades away. Just as a side note, I do not want to leave the big XII but I also would prefer Texas having the same say as everyone else, rather than them trying to force everyone to do things their way. Texas makes money, and a lot of it, but if it weren't for OU and NU Texas could very well be playing in a much crappier conference.
  17. arrogant much? Arrogant, no. Tired of these hawkeye homers talking..DEFINITELY. I don't know if you browse other boards but there are a bunch of lame ass hawkeye fans talking about how NU is scared to play them. I do recall a certain Iowa team not renewing anymore games with us because we murdered them, and heck, even 1 this decade(and just in case it's beyond you, that's 10 years). In 2000 we only slightly murdered them 42-13, they got a whopping 6 points more than the score from 99, so they did show improvement. Now that they are what 4th or 5th overall in the Big 10+1 they are something special? I don't buy it for one second and will laugh at each and everyone of those dbag fans. You can call it arrogant, I call it speaking my mind.
  18. Let's just make a trophy considering Iowa really has never had a chance against us. Out of 31 games, we've trounced them 22 times, they've just gotten by us 8 times, and we tied once. The "whatever it would be" would rest in Nebraska for 10 years in a row, then Iowa would get it once, then back to Nebraska for another 10. Their last win against us was in 81 and they got us 10-7, the year prior(80) we won 57-0 and the year after(82) we got them 42-7. Iowa can't even sniff our jockstraps, plus I hate hawkeye fans. They have done nothing and will continue to do nothing, but they speak as if they are this team whose always been great.
  19. Good luck getting on campus, they've got that thing on lockdown ever since I was going to school out here. Not to mention the rich kiddies might hit you with their brand new Mercedes/BMW's etc while trying to cross the street to get in. Always glad I turned down a scholarship to them when I was younger, all 4 years of HS we never once lost to those yuppie POS's(In soccer or baseball).
  20. For my birthday this year I want Pelini and the Huskers to put a stomping on the longhorns. I want them to beat them by 50 points and then walk off the field after adding an extra point after. Oct. 16th 2010, I will be 34 and this is my only wish. I'd settle for a 40 point win just as well:)
  21. 4 Picks, 4 Big XII players, and 3 of them from OU. I'm wondering what the SEC fans excuse will be this year.
  22. Here is the thread about it... * next to recruits Nexus is doing it for the players with no film so he can find them quicker. That explains it, thanks guys.
  23. I am noticing that some of the recruits under the 2011 section have an asterisk next to their names. What are these for or is that a single star type thing because they have no eval as of yet? Sorry if someone has asked but I can't find any information on it. Thought maybe it was someone making a mark to show they started it, but more than one moniker has done it so that was shot down quick. Thank you in advance.
  24. Thanks for your kind words. Hate all you want but Philly has a dedicated fan base, and at least SUH would have immediate chance to make the playoffs. At St. Louis or any of those lower-tier teams it would take several years to see Suh in the playoffs. They are dedicated, won't deny that, but the fact still remains that they have been voted also as the worst fans in America. I seem them as the Colorado of the NFL and MLB. I'm sure not all of them should be deserving of that title, as I don't know you, but you can't deny that your Phillie fans and Eagles fans are some of the most disrespectful of any sports fans. Well I guess you could deny that fact if you wanted, but the majority of the USA believes differently. Just so you know, I wasn't attacking you, simply stating what myself and many others think.
