  1. Have you ever liked somebody who kicked your butt? I know that I still dislike a kid from my childhood. I am sure a cumlative 100pt beating contributed greatly to Jens dislike. DA*N that Tommy Fraiser!! Not even close, but thanks for trying to play the game. No, I think many (not just Huskers) dislike Mr. Daniel because of his antics. He's Mister Everything when things are going his way, but completely loses his cool and acts childish when they aren't. Then we have that whole spitting allegation, which really didn't win him any respect from anyone. If it did indeed happen, it made him sound like a tattle-tale, at the very least. There have been a whole slew of teams that have kicked Husker arse. I don't dislike any of those teams' players for the simple fact their team kicked in my team's teeth. But, I have disliked a few players for cocky and pompous attitudes. It's always nice to see karma in action, though.
  2. If I was Chase Daniel I wouldn't walk into an alley with you Jen. Actually I'd just spit on him and then watch him burst into tears... so it was YOU who was the second spitter!!
  3. Great video! Dogs are so awesome. I'm surprised there wasn't excitement piddle.
  4. I'm so glad this guy didn't choose to play for Nebraska. http://blogs.tampabay.com/bucs/2009/04/fre...b-in-draft.html

  7. One player is back at practice, but Briscoe remains suspended. He was rumored to be reinstated but messed up again. (Don't take that as fact, as I am reporting it 17th hand, minimum). Been a heck of a spring to go through for the big guy. Whatever the real reason, Briscoe has got to pull his head out of his butt. Briscoe maybe doesn't realize this, but he needs Kansas more than Kansas needs him. He's got aspirations of a draft after his upcoming junior year. If he can't toe the line, his shot at the NFL diminishes. All my opinion, of course.
  8. All sorts of rumors flying around on this, but one thing that isn't a rumor is that the kid is now listed in "good" condition, and his injuries are not life threatening. Rival school or not, that is good news. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/foot...nsas-lueken.ap/ I hope he has a speedy recovery, and whoever the driver was faces the appropriate consequences.
  9. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4040689 I wonder if Bo made any impression on him at LSU. Would he take a visit to his former DC? Am I asking too much to get him here for a visit? Bo would definitely already know about him and if he's capable of performing in his system. 10. You may be right, but it won't be for motivation any more than it would be because they actually earned them. If the previous game is not played with their best effort, no Blackshirts for Blacksburg.
  11. I recently read an article about a spring practice at Wyoming, and it mentioned something about "keeping brown shirts earned". I thought it was only Nebraska that did that sort of thing, but maybe it's just the most famous. Is this something they do regularly, or is it a new tradition?
  12. 73. Dan Christensen(1st year as a NCAA Head Coach)- Wyoming made one of the better offseason hires last year when it grabbed Christensen from Missouri. Many credit the offense of Christensen as the reason why Missouri has been such a hot team as of late. With Brad Smith he had one of the better duel threat QBs in the country, with Chase Daniel he has had a great dropback QB. The ability to adjust to 2 different QBs in such a short amount of time shows the man is a great coach. Poke fans should be excited about the future. 74. Dan Hawkins(13-24 at Colorado and 107-46-1 overall)- When he left Boise in 2005 Hawkins was one of the hottest coaches in CFB, but he has still yet to have a winning season in Boulder. He did take over a very difficult situation, but improvement must be shown soon as Colorado is the type of program that should be down too long. So, a first time head coach, who's so important they can't even spell his name right (Dave, not Dan), is ahead of Dan Hawkins. Sure, the real Dan hasn't done much, but I really do expect that to change this year. Not 10 wins worth, but back to a bowl. Besides, how can you rank someone with zero experience with someone who actually did get his current team bowl eligible (once)? Shows just how ludicrous these ratings/rankings/opinions are.
  13. One rumor that sounded legit was that he didn't start his winter workouts until mid-February, and missed several classes. The reason given was that he was elsewhere, working out with Dez Bryant. Since I read it on a message board, it must be true, right? If true, and I'm not saying it is, it's certainly a ship that can be easily righted if Briscoe gets back on the right path and stays there. I honestly doubt he misses too much playing time, if any, as a result of the infractions.
  14. This thread is missing an action photo -- http://image.cdnl3.xosnetwork.com/pics21/4...90325223653.JPG Whole photo gallery here: from http://www.huskers.com/PhotoAlbum.dbml?SPS...p;PALBID=88635 The conversation about being in Oklahoma reminds me of a bumper sticker I once saw: If I owned Hell and Oklahoma, I'd live in Hell and rent out Oklahoma.
  15. You know, I could have sworn I heard/read about "the numbers crunch" somewhere along the lines, but failed to note exactly where I got that information. Now, through doing searches, everything I'm seeing is contrary to what I posted. I stand corrected. I'm sorry, no wonder I sounded like a maniac.
  16. zoogies - I only said that the "numbers crunch" was the reason GIVEN. I believe it was an attempt not to tarnish the kid. I agree that it was probably more for the reason(s) you specified. I'm really not trying to pick a fight or take any kind of high ground here, just concerned about how that situation was handled. now, back to Marve. After a few days of thought on this, if he comes here, then it's ok with me, as long as he's kept on a short leash until he's proven to have his head on straight. He's going to have to prove himself and show that he's learned from his mistakes wherever he goes.
  17. I'd worry more about getting out of Louisiana-Lafayette. They were fortunate to win that game last year, AT HOME. In 2009 they have to go play them on the road. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=282712306
  18. dang - I just went back and read Cy's post. I need therapy since I'm starting to think like a Cyclone.
  19. So, let's go back in time, shall we? What would the analysis have looked like 10 or 15 years ago? While this is a decent analysis of the current landscape, no one can predict anything even 5 years from now, let alone 50. My prediction is that global warming will eventually make anything south of Nebraska too unbearable to live. Mass migrations of people will come and thrive. Nebraska will be the place to live and play football year round, and will have 20 commits a week after signing day. Yeah, that's the ticket!!
  20. nillie - you'll get no argument from anyone about the difference in talent between the two. The basic reason given for yanking the offer was that there was a numbers crunch. So, if there was such a numbers crunch, how do we have room for a problem-prone transfer, and not the hard working, but less talented guy? I just don't like our image tarnished by yanking scholarships, is my point. It may have been a mistake to offer Bodtmann in the first place, but gots to take those lumps some times and learn from them.
  21. I'm confused about this "tradition" they speak of. Did they mean the tradition of being barely bowl eligible once every five years? Or did they mean the tradition of opting out of games on their schedule so they can get a high school team in their place? The JuCo recruiting tradition maybe? I wish they'd be more specific on which tradition they are talking about. side note: Hey, Jayhawk - tell us how you really feel.
