  1. It seems like Lee's passes spend A LOT of time in the air... I'm concerned a quality secondary is going to start picking a few off. I hope I'm wrong.
  2. Maybe it's just me... but it seems like Lee's passes are in the air a long time.
  3. It would have been nice to have seen Watson throw a few times on first down... I don't believe it happened once in the first half. Clemson wasn't giving up anything to the run on first down.
  4. Apparently he joked about a chair being thrown?
  5. McNeil's grab wasn't too shabby either. Seems like you see these types of catches made routinely these days. Anyone see that McNeil broke Johnny Mitchell's record for receptions in a season. I would guess that we're going to see considerably more TE action next year until wide receivers develop.
  6. While I'm excited about the prospects of Cody Green... I've got just two words for those who think he's going to come in here, take over, and lead us to a national title through 4 years of starts... Harrison Beck (by the way, anyone catch him come in for NC States injured starter against Rutgers... it was classic Beck)
  7. Like my mother would say... "If if's and but's were candy and nuts... what a wonderful world it would be."
  8. Their QB has thrown more INT's than TD's through the season ... I suspect they knew going straight to the well would likely have resulted in more turnovers. Plus, for the most part... we were handing the game to them anyway.
  9. I'm not calling for CU 'go anywhere'... merely beat us in Boulder. They basically come back with the same team they had this year... one which we needed a record field goal to beat at home. I'm just being realistic. We're Colorado's red letter game... they're going to be very motivated to avenge the loss we handed them... and they aren't going to be developing a new group of players to do it. Of course I'll be ecstatic to be proven wrong.
  10. I dunno... outside of the 'near blowout' comment, which I thought was curious as well... I thought Dan was fairly complementary of NU. I DID think naming Witt's near fumble as the play of the game... was rather lame.
  11. And Cody is actually Watson's guy. I would expect him to be red shirted as well.
  12. But the spring game is little more than 3 short months away.
  13. This year we had a really favorable schedule (or at least, KU/CU/maybe Baylor at home)... next year we have a tougher one with an offense which is going to need time to gel... and I'm not sure one season is going to be enough to do it. My predictions FAU, win (although careful, this Howard Schnellenberger team is turning into a Central/South Florida) Arkansas State, win at VA Tech, loss (most everyone back but 'Macho' Harris) Louisiana-Lafayette, win at Missouri, toss-up, hopefully Witt/Green will be better than Gabbert Tech, win ISU, win at Baylor, toss-up, Griffin is going to just get better Oklahoma, loss, sorry... not ready yet at Kansas, loss, what I expect to be the north division champion K-State, win at Colorado, loss, Buffs going to be in much better shape at home next year Assuming we lose one toss-up... I'm predicting a 7-6 or 8-5 season... which I would be happy with considering an entirely new QB, inexperienced receiving corps. Bo was set up pretty well this season with Ganz and company... I'm glad Watson is going to be coming back at least. Now, if we have a QB/receivers who step right in with success... perhaps we get those 9 wins. But generally, I think Husker fans should be prepared for a 'rebuilding year'... if we can do that and go bowling again, I'll be pleased.
  14. The #1 ranked Penn State team which Nebraska has next is considered by many to be the 'Greatest of All Time'... the defending national champsions, they returned EVERY starter from last year and have not lost a single GAME this year... and continue to add to their NCAA record string of consectutive game wins dating to last year when they won the national championship. HERE'S A FACTOID FOR YOU THOUGH. Early last year, before Penn State started on that consecutive string of game wins... they suffered a SWEEP... to WHO? That's right... your HUSKERS... AT THE QWEST CENTER! The Qwest Center is going to be rocking again Thursday night! Let's give them BACK-TO-BACK SWEEPS! Go Big Red!
  15. Am I mistaken... or is the Heisman not awarded to the best -college football- player ? Who cares what he's done since. Consider what he did at Nebraska. Career total offense leader at Nebraska Career rushing quarterback leader in Big 12 Longest touchdown run in Nebraska history Career touchdown leader at Nebraska One of 3 QB's in history to pass for 4,000 yards/rush for 3,000 yards in career Most career wins at Nebraska Only 9th player in D1 to win 35 games Only 13th QB in NCAA history to rush/pass 1,000 yards in a season NCAA record for most career rushing TD's Run/pass/reception TD in a single game So many highlight plays The typical system quarterback today winning the Heisman simply makes his completions and racks up yards/touchdowns with the help of his receivers. Crouch was a far more exciting/athletic player to watch.
  16. Suh got robbed... no lineman had more tackles... tackles for losses... not to speak of interceptions! How about a touchdown reception as well!
  17. Conference stats... tell an even more impressive story. At #50... Texas is the highest ranked defense in the conference. I guess that's what happens when you have so many top 10 offenses. I'll be interested to see how we all fare in the bowls. http://www.big12sports.com/ViewContent.dbm...CONTENT_ID=1764
  18. I believe TO's Huskers played FSU at least a half dozen times... I recall at least two regular season victories in the 80's... NO bowl victories.
  19. Oh heck... as with most all high school athletes in the states surrounding Nebraska... these guys were born to be Cornhuskers, and are just re-discovering their destiny... having been briefly distracted by this short span of success you guys have had down there in Lawrence.
  20. Hi, new guy here. I was just wondering... where did Nebraska typically fall in terms of recruiting ranking... back in the Osborne years? Has anyone ever tracked just how well the Rivals 100 (for example) have performed in the years following their recruitment? I'm curious just how much these rankings are really worth... outside of bragging rights. Thanks!
