  1. I talked to Cody's high school coach and he said the new trainer along with new therapy has done wonders with his progress and he should be 100% when fall practice starts.
  2. Any word on Cody's foot injury?
  3. The best blows delivered by a Husker were from Cody Glenn. Remember him knocking the guy out of the game, I think it was LaTech.
  4. Your mistaking questions for whining. Yes I'll take the win. The defense next week won't be so forgiving. Use all the weapons you have and save some for next time.
  5. We are winning... Why do people still have to complain?? Some people just aren't happy and will bitch about anything! :hmmm Is it not a legitimate question? I don't think W.E.Wynn is off base at all. Late in the game when Brandon was obiously tired we needed fresh legs in the game. Marlon does a good job when there is sniff of a crease, but Cody will make something out of nothing usually. Back to the question, does Cody Glenn still play for the Huskers. Obviously not. If he can't get pt against a poor run defense like Missouri or get the chance to play when our running game is churning out a little over 3 yards a carry then I guess he may be on the train with KW.
  6. Broke his collarbone on his last touchdown run according to post on smoaky.com.
  7. Maydelle you are wound up tighter than bark on a tree today.
  8. Hey Maydelle, is that worse than betting the family farm? If it happens make sure it's in Cherokee County and not Lincoln, Ne. I want to be there.
  9. No matter what happens I can assure you Cody will work his tail off on the practice field, in the weight room and the film room to be ready to play. If he doesn't get the chance it's too bad because he is more than capable. Good luck to the Huskers this week. All of us Cody fans in Texas will be rootin for the HuskerNation to prevail. We may be dissapointed in the coaches decisions, but we're still fans of the team. See y'all in College Station.
  10. Where did this myth of Cody Glenn being slow come from? Put 40 pounds of pads on Marlon and Cody and run them in the 40 and I can assure you Cody will not finish 4 or 5 lengths behind Marlon. My bet would be neck and neck. Give C-Train the ball!!!
  11. Anybody know why he didn't get any carries and only saw the field twice?
  12. I think Cody has good hands, but what about the other backs beside Lucky. Has a pass been thrown to any of the other backs? I can't remember. I do think Cody is capeable of more than short yardage though.
  13. How important is CG on third or fourth and short? To have the ability to sustain drives and control the clock could be very important next week at USC. Also the offensive line should get their props. They did a great job last week.
  14. With the "pound the rock" theme I think Cody would be a great choice. he has the ability to pound and pound, plus he can make people miss. i am sure he has a good grasp of the playbook also.
  15. Why is there this misconception Cody Glenn is slow? Some of the greatest running backs to ever play were not very fast(Emmitt Smith for one), but took advantage of their abilities to take it to the house. I think the power of Cody is what will allow him to rumble for 64 yards on carry 19 because the defense will get tired of getting trucked. It's pretty amazing how he has gotten labled as a short yardage back when he has not had the opportunity to anything else in his short career. I think he will be a huge asset to the Husker program in the years to come.
  16. Glenn is the most talented back imo. He is a hard nosed football player who is not afraid to bust it up the gut with some authority. He doesn't dilly dally around looking for a big hole to run into. He finds the little crease, commits to it and gets it done. He has not had an opportunity to show what he can do in the open field because he ran mainly dive plays on short yardage, but he can get it done. And as far as Lucky coming in for Cory, Cody was not 100%. His ankle was rolled during Alamo Bowl practice.
  17. It's Tuesday in East Texas and I had to turn on the A/C driving to work this morning and I'm 200 miles north of San Antonio. It should be great weather for a visit to San Antonio. I am looking forward to Mia Tierras'.
  18. I agree with RHassell. It seems the boards are full of folks wanting powering running, but continue to deny the only power runner they have the opportunity. I have watched Marlon run and as long as there is grass in front of him he can go. There is no doubt Cory Ross is the heart and soul of this offense, but he can't do it all by himself. Cody having a strained hammy would explain the lack of use this week, but what about last week? I think back to the Baylor game where they used Cody several times to control the clock and to sustain drives. He never failed to get the needed yardage even with the defense knowing it was coming. I hope that the fans of Nebraska can one day see what they have.
  19. Seems to me if you have a crappy O-line you should have your biggest and strongest running the ball. Common sense should tell you that.
  20. Being a Texas boy this will be the first time in my life I have ever cheered for someone other than a Texas team. Hanging 70 points on a team is inexcusable unless the score is 70-69. You can't stop this Tech offense between the twenties, but you can in the red zone. I know they have been succesful in the red zone so far, but they have not seen a defense that brings the speed like the blackshirts. I think you have to keep the recievers in front of you and pressure the qb hard in the rz. Make him hurry his throws. Thats when the turnovers start to happen. Also I think we are going to have to control the game clock. Run, run, run. We can't afford to get in a toss and catch competition with this bunch. We have the backs to get it done. Let's see Cody Glenn with some more carries up the gut. I don't know what the crap was last week about him fumbling handoffs in warmups, but this guy can play at this level and control a ball game. Oh, and by the way, Cory Ross is not a bad go to guy either. I love this guy. Wish he would have gone to A&M.
  21. Why does everyone keep bringing Cody Glenn up, whaT about Brandon Jackson, he's quite the load. I saw Brandon and he didn't impress me that much. Let's get a look at Cody and see what he can do. I think y'all like what you see.
  22. Where was Cody? First and goal from the 2. I know there was no to's, but I have to think they wouldn't have been needed had he been in the game. I feel like he would have scored. As a matter of fact after watching the stable of running backs in front of him I think he would have scored more than once.
  23. Are you or New Husker Fan from Rusk?? I'm definitly from Rusk, but I think Rhassell is from Maydelle. hehe..............
  24. I don't know who that big back was, but y'all really got something in Cody Glenn. Not only is he capable of doing great things on the field he is a class act off the field as well. Rusk, Tx will miss him greatly in both respects, but we wish him well and we will definitly be rooting for the Huskers now. (as I said before exept when they play the Aggies. We still hope Cody has a good day though)
  25. I had the opportunity to watch Cody during his high school career and he is very quick for a big man or a small man for that matter. That is what makes him so dangerous to defenses, he can run over you or he can be very elusive. You just never know what he is gonna do. He is a big back with little back feet.
