  1. A couple weeks ago when a lot of us so called know it alls were making statements about the running backs I posted a comment that if Cody Glenn was ever given the opportunity to play and did not perform I would kiss everybody's butt on the court house square and give them thirty minutes to draw a crowd. I guess being named Chevrolet Player of the Game and gaining 149 yds just might say I was right and that the courthouse square will be empty. Great game also by BJax, he has impressed me more and more all the time, l think the backs we need to play did the job last night, need I say more.
  2. Hey CodyGlenn34theRuskSensation, you are going to make people think i am a coach and worse yet I was Cody's coach. I read the article you posted said NU would pound the middle today I guess that is only thing #34 is good for. Am I senile or did Cody make 4 first downs in a row on plays to the outside against La. Tech. maybe I was watching a different game. I think the problem here is we have faced the enemy and it is us. Well I have got to go sharpen my Husquvarna, so in case Cody doesn't get to play I can cut some firewood. Kick some rearend today Blackshirts.
  3. Here I go again, I am confused are football players ever timed in full pads? Isn't that how you play on Saturday? I would be interested who is the fastest with pads on of the Husker backs. Also don't they play tackle, so doesn't yards after contact matter? Some are very good at running when a lot of grass is available but not so good if you are fix'in (Maydelle word) to get the crap knocked out of you. All this stuff make my rearend want a dip of snuff. Good luck today and rest of the year Huskers.
  4. We have just about done this, that is beat a deadhorse to death. I will say it again I am prejudice toward Cody but also have enough judgement to say if 1.9 yards per carry is the Husker coaches idea of a success then Husker fans are in more trouble than worrying about Cody not playing. Since I am a Husker fan, mainly because Cody is playing there, I hope he plays more since I am paying 29.95 tomorrow to watch Nebraska play. Let him play and if fails than we will all shut up and disappear, but until then, prove us wrong. But like W.E. says the coaches make the big bucks for deciding who plays. Just two more cents worth if Cody is given the chance and he fails I will kiss all of your butts on the courthouse square and give you thirty minutes to draw a crowd.
  5. You know you read all this stuff about this "committee of backs" I think that is a cop out because the coaches want Lucky to be the "man " but he hasn't and in my humble opinion he can't or at least hasn't Cody will work his butt off even if he doesn't have that extra half step, hands, quickness, moves, and so on that you game day experts see in others. I will tell you this Cody Glenn will do everything asked of him by the coaches like a man he is. Cody will evaluate his playing time at the end of season and do what is best for him, isn't that what the Nebraska coaches do? So don't let one game cause eveyone to panic but if this is a picture of what is to come then Cody will be playing closer to home next year i would bet. What is it that Ron White says, "You can't fix stupid" and that is all I will say about the use of Cody against USC. But everyone knows I am a little prejudice toward the C-train.
  6. I will probably get hammered for this by some but HuskerNHawaii comment seems to say Glenn is the MAN if the O-line cannot block because he is a capable of running through people and over people, but Lucky is the man if the line can whip the defense. Makes a lot sense to me but I'm from Maydelle.
  7. What has anyone found about the spring game being televised? ESPNU may broadcast it, I know they have some other spring games.
  8. You guys dogging me and Stillwatchin for being a Cody Glenn fan need to read the BigHuskerBoard and get on hayamannn, lpbaby, and born red that is where I got most of my info from what they wrote. Seems like they have seen practice or knows someone who is at practice everyday. Like I said I for the C-Train but I am not belittling Lucky or any other back. Just repeating what others are saying who seem to know more than all of us. Decide for yourself.
  9. You are right StuckinChicago I do not know how good Lucky is. What I said was if you read what has been posted by other people on the husker boards not just this one it revers to Lucky and Glenn about what they do and don't do. Like I said I am pulling for the C-Train because he gets the tough yardage and works his tail off, another quote by someone else (pigsonthewing) I think. Plus I am from his home town. I hope the best for both and maybe they will be Nebraska's Thunder and Lightening of the future.
  10. What I read on every husker related board or website is that Glenn is the man, like someone said earlier he is working his tail off and the team loves him. If Cody is not the man then the coaches (Callahan) must be going on hype and what happened in high school (potential). Cody don't dance into the hole or fall down. It is all according to what they want, somebody that can get the needed yards and YAC or someone who may get 50 or lose 5 on every play. Just my thoughts not to dog anyone else but the give praise to the C-Train.
  11. Looks to me that Cody is clear cut favorite to be #1 back. Even from what I have read his teammates like what he is doing. (Slauson) and from eye-witnesses from practice say he is the MAN, then why keep making him a short-yardage person or someone to back up Lucky. Give the C-Train his due not for the hype but how he has worked his tail off and how he is performing. Some people have a hard time with getting past potential and hype.
  12. Hey, Pillen08 makes a lot of sense to me. I don't like people posting stuff they don't havea clue about. If you noticed I only talked about Cody. I have a little insight about him
  13. Explain to me how Cody Glenn is not the top candidate for this postion!! I watched the Nebraska games all the way from Texas and I knew after the Tech game when he would get the ball and if my memory serves me right he produced the first downs almost everytime. I wonder if the other team's dc told the defense to be ready? Give me a break. Cody has better than good speed and will and I mean will run over your butt. If he is not given a legitimate shot he needs to bring it back to Texas. Plenty of people here want him will give him a chance. Don't get me wrong he will work his butt off to win the position and he loves NU and the staff there. So my vote goes to Cody C-Train Glenn as the next I-back for the huskers.
  14. Found out that Cody hurt his hamstring Wednesday in practice. Guess that solves the problem huh? Newearthhusker is wondering why he couldn't make a yard on back to back carries against KU if you had seen the film it would have shown you he was hit in the backfield a couple yards behind the line and HE still managed to get back to line of scrimmage. So maybe being a power back with NU's O-line you sometimes don't get a yard. But previously he had gotten the list down everytime he carried the ball. Sounds like you want to write him off on first mistake
