I thought Dr. Rob Zatechta (sp) did a great job of explaining the Rb roles last night. Couldn't agree with him more... Lucky is the most "complete" back we have, and he will remain the #1 guy. He blocks soooo much better than Helu, he can throw, and yes, I think that we have seen it, he can take it to the house. He also is a great receiver out of the backfield...... Q is still a quality back who did a good job Saturday, but obviously has fumble problems. Helu is the best pure "running back" that we have. If you want to just flat out get rushing yards, then NO quesiton, Helu is our man. He is going to be great before he is done. I am pumped that he will hopefully have 2 more years. He does miss blocks ...a lot.... and yes, he will only get better, and he has shown ability to catch the ball well. He also has a different gear that none of the rest have. Helu will be the best back that NU has had in many years (imo) the next to years. Remember, it isn't who is in on the 1st play, but who is in when the game is on the line. Too many people get wrapped up into who "starts".

I agree that Ricky needs to be in the game. But, man, I don't think you want to get on Bo's bad side. In O'Hannlon's defense, he doesn't do a bad job at run support on the edges, just not in open field after catches. He has made decent plays for losses or minimal gains.

You're correct on ND being the factor here. And they could easily go 6-6.....They are 5-4 with trips to Navy (6-3 and beat an 8-2 Air Force) and at USC. They will beat Syracuse, so if ND is a 6-6 team, then an 8-4 NU team is much more attractive this year, with the hopes of ND being etter next season. If ND beats Navy, then they are ending up at 7-5, which I think the Gator will take them. At 6-6, any of the Big 12 teams could be a Gator option..... OSU, MU , or one of the top 3 not in BCS.

Been to several sights, and obviously got several opinions and projections.... Fox, cbs, nbc sports, espn, some sights I haven't even heard of...... a few Alamo (2) vs Wisconsin (cbs) vs Minnesota (espn) Insight vs Iowa (nbc sports) Sun vs Oregon State (espn) Houston vs East Carolina (fox) I know that none of this means crap, but isn't it fun to think hypothetically and realize that we are once agian going bowling... I love this time of year... the guessing games are fun.

Wow, I didn't realize how his numbers stacked up to Dorsey's.... Did Dorsey come out early or did he stay for his Sr. season. Hopefully Suh will see the type of year he can have after 2 season's under Bo....remember, he will probably get Turner back at DE for some help next year also.

Get this........cbs sportsline's bowl predictions, updated today...... Nebraska vs Wisconsin in Alamo Bowl BUT, they have Colorada and Kansas State in bowls. KSU only has to beat ISU to be eligible, but CU must beat either Oklahoma State or Nebraska to become eligible. I am assuming that they are predicting that CU will beat NU..... Which, in turn, makes them full of Sh!t, so the whole prediction thing is bogus. Although, I would love to go back to Alamo Bowl. What a great time.

Now I am hoping for Insight vs Big 10 or Alamo vs Big 10...... Not sure how we would fair vs Pac 10 #3....... our secondary isn't fast enough to play toe-toe vs Pac 10 style... Who is #3........ Oregon- Oregon St. - Cal ???

Sun Bowl is El Paso and I believe Insight is in Pheonix

I believe that it has been well documented that NU will not go to the Independence Bowl...bad experiences and fans will not travel to Shereveport....Both sides aren't really interested in the possibility.

I listed Alamo just as a "stretch"...... Even if we win out, wouldn't we probably be behind TT OU Tex. OSU MU If one is in NC and another in BCS, that would leave the Holiday to pick someone, maybe the Cotton to select another (maybe OSU) and then Alamo would have to take NU over one of those teams listed above... All speculation....... Let's win out, and enjoy wherever they send NU....... I am there, wherever...

Remember, RUMOR only and I personally hope that my wife got her wires mixed (which is obvious, cause she is with me)....but I really like Watson.... I think he has done pretty well.... Hate to start over, just to replace a guy with "HC guy"....hopefully this is only BS and we begin to keep staff in tact.....with TO in charge, he understands the importance of keeping guys around, so I would be surprised if he would highly support many changes.

Local news (channel 7 out of Omaha) sport's guy just said that is was "likely the Sun" but how the hell can he say that this early. To me, that would be the "worst-case scenario".... if we win another, then I think we could end up at the Insight, and if we win out, possible the Alamo and definately the Insight...... based on "nothing" but just my opinion.

Wasn't going to bring this topic up because it belongs in "rumorville", but I did hear something this week. My wife gets to visit with a lot of former huskers in her line of work, and had lunch with a former husker great this week......sorry, I will not post names or reasons for meetings to save the confidentiality for the players involved, so go ahead and call me out, this is just info from one of the former players (rumors) anyway. In fact, when they had lunch, this player was on the phone with TO....so he is very much in the loop. He talked football and business with my wife, and he told her that 2 assistants would be out at end of season. Of course, being a woman (ha), but an advid Husker fan, she couldn't quite remember who, but thought it was Gilmore and Watson....... Makes sense though..... Brown used to coach all WR-TE so he could take Gilmore and at times Watson's offense hasn't done well, although I think he was a smart "keep" by Pelini, and I think he called a great game again today... Once again, I mentioned Eckler and she said NO, it wasn't him. Remember, Watson-Gilmore were the only 2 hold-overs and usually when that happens, it is only for transition purposes. Rumorville topic.....but because we are bowl eligible and playing fairly well, I am sure that this isn't the time to worry or complain about coaches.... they all need patted on the back and our support.

I love the Rocky movies. This week on AMC, my 8 year old son and I have watched 3 Rocky movies (Rocky week on AMC). Rocky 4 is my favorite, vs the Russian.

granted, NU needs to get at least 1 more win, and I am more supersticious (sp) than anyone, so I hate (but love) to talk about bowls. I love bowl games. On 1620 the zone today (omaha sports radio) the guys mentioned the Sun Bowl, Insight Bowl in Pheonix, and even mentioned that if NU could win out, that the Gator Bowl on New Year's Day was still in the picture. The Gator Bowl could take ND, but if they only have 6 wins and NU has 8, then the Gator bowl may be interested in NU... Putting the cart way ahead of the horse, but has anyone heard anything else?

One of my assistant coaches is a big KSU fan (why I haven't fired him is beyond me), but he for one is glad Prince is gone. He has wanted this day to come for over a year now. He said sources in Manhatten all point to KSU going after Patterson. But didn't he turn down a ton of money to go to Minnesota last year. Patterson did play at KSU, so there is a connection here. Any chance Fulmer or Willingham take a look? Travis Justice (douche) commented by saying KSU should hire Turner Gill. I would love to see them struggle through the years trying to build a program. Also mentioned that AD may be gone too soon. Suggested that KSU may try to talk Snyder into becoming AD, like Osborne. All of this is just RUMORS from KSU.

Hey, some agreed with me, some didn't.........and over 50 hits, not a bad topic....... Someof you guys need to relax a little, being "over-defensive" shows a little bit of "you may be right, but we hate BC so much that we are afraid to admit it"... Being mad at a call by an official on the field........ by the way......is APPLES TO APPLES......not as the pulling a gun in different circumstances example from "left field".... BC gets mad at a call, does a "throat-slash" and is called under carpet Bo gets mad at a call, gets a crucial 15 yd penalty and consistantly looks like an a$$ game after game , yet he is called passionate...... By the way, obviously TO thinks that Bo needs to cool it, because Bo came out and said that for the image of the program, he would "cool it"..... but I am sure some of you will say TO is wrong too. This is a "double standard" like it or not !!!! Same situation...sidelines in a game, mad at a call !!!!!!

Probably the best comment yet imo...and has nothing to do with Oklahoma Husker agreeing or disagreeing, just I think that he has nailed it on the head. Nu fans like Bo better as a person.

my point is .... I am NOT comparing coaches, I am comparing "situations" in which I feel that some NU fans have a "double standard"...... there is NO comparison between coaches. Are you guys saying that if BC took away "blackshirts" in year 1 that most people would have been okay with it.... This is my ONLY question ! And I am saying that the way people reacted to the defense being "out of position" in yr. 1 looks very similar to the defense "being out of position" this yr. vs MU and OU.... No comparison between coaches... Bo will coach circles around BC.... I am just stating that I think Bo gets a little slack because he has been here before... and if you are going to call out 1 coach for his actions (situations), then go ahead and call out the other.

Wow.........it amazes me how many people will take the "original thread" or don't take the time to read it before they throw in their two cents... I never questioned anything about the team's record, progress or even the coach's ability. In fact, I made it extremely clear that I support Bo. Yet, people have use "record", "lack of talent", "games left", "bowling", etc.... just to argue something that wasn't even in question. Please read the original post. Not saying that I expect everyone or anyone to agree, nor do I have a problem with those who don't..... I thought that is what discussion boards where about. But, you will not convince me that if BC took away the Blackshirts, that most (if not all) would have said "he has no since of NU history"..... and that BC's defense looked helpless in blowouts in season one, and so does Bo's at times...but we have different opinions.... I think Bo really over does his antics on the sideline, even getting penalties, yet some will make excuses for him and not for BC. Those are the only 3 examples I used !!! Anyone who has brought in the record, progress and everything else has taken the thread in another direction on their own.

Good comments.......... Yes, this thread is relevant.....some of you must have forgotten BC's 1st year. Go back and check your notes on how we didn't qualify for a bowl, traditions being lost, blah, blah, blah...... I am comparing year 1 to year 1........ Once again, I love Bo's passion and think he is twice the coach BC is and glad he is here. I just see a "double standard" among some of the people who post, which is completely okay..... just stated my opinion.
