For the second straight inning Nebraska puts runners on first and second with 0 outs and for the second straight inning cant push anyone across. Clutch hitting has been weak.

Kaminska was dealing in the 6th, then hits batter. Ball goes into right field on stolen base , putting runner on 3rd with 2 outs. Then a single on a 3-2 pitch. This team can’t get out of it’s own way after fielding mistakes. Huskers trail 3-1. Pitching change coming.

Late to post….. Huskers trail 2-1 after 5 1/2 innings. Kaminska throwing pretty well tonight after allowing a 2 out bomb in the first. The offense can’t get string anything together again tonight.

Unfortunately, you are spot on ! This is why some, if not many of us are predicting USC or Georgia. There are tons of players whom don’t play for their “favorite childhood” team for various reasons. As much as I would love him here, and believe he could be a program changer, it really makes zero sense from most viewpoints. Risking your career ( not injury ending, but statistically), based on “hoping” things get fixed is a dangerous and bold move. He would really have to bet on himself, which hopefully is his mindset.

I personally don’t disagree with you, but the “talking heads”, such as recruiting analysts, Husker insiders during radio interviews have said ideally Simms would be good enough to “allow” him to sit and grow during a redshirt year. I don’t buy it, but have heard that sentiment a handful of times.

By all accounts, it doesn’t appear that he is very concerned about being a day one starter. He isn’t necessarily looking for that opportunity. It seems more about where is the best fit, and possibly Heisman, NC, NFL. I completely agree with you that our QB room will not be that impressive once CT leave bc Simms is still unknown here. Most feel he would be better served sitting a year, which is why I don’t think it will matter about the studs US C have in front of him because they will leave early and open the door for potential for him to be a 2 yr starter, and bolt for NFL.

Exactly ! Most of this will shake out by itself. Probably about 95% of the players actually "want" to play football. Once they see that they are buried, they will leave to find a home where they can play. A select few will be "happy" just being a Husker. I doubt that Rhule will have to be the "bad guy" and pull a ton of scholarships. There will be a lot of guys jump into the portal in the spring..... funny thing is that some are really worried now about having too many players and then others will worry about players entering the portal.

Crawford wasn’t ready to play P5 football . Whether it was ability or related to his injury. A number of insides didn’t over-react to him leaving. They were saying he had a long way to go to contribute. My guess that is why Rhule said no thank you (if he tried to come back) and would guess it is why he is at FCS

I may be wrong but didn’t he come out of high school and was in trouble academically, but covid hit and a lot of academic issues were exempt bc of pandemic. He may have survived bc of that. He has his work cut out for him. I truly hope he can figure it out, but don’t count on it.
