  1. Have to agree - I may have just found my "second favorite" team. I'll certainly be following how Clemson does next season, and pulling for them. Word John Lennon, and I will be pulling for your Huskers. Fair warning though, being a Clemson fan is a little like being a pre-2004 Red Sox fan, our team will always get the fans hopes up and then smashing them at the right moment...
  2. He sure did, have fun with that soft zone, no blitzing defense. Yall will destroy it.
  3. Good prediction and all, but apparently it's against our policy to score on defense this year.
  4. Alabama: Obviously, in hindsight Alabama is much better than we thought, and Clemson wasn't as good as we thought. But as for the game, we came in soft, expecting to win easily. We only scored a TD on a kickoff return by CJ Spiller. I was at the game and left early in the 4th quarter because I was just embarrassed at how bad Bama was manhandling us. 34-10. Maryland: The beginning of the end for Bowden. We physically dominated the first half, running the ball down there throats and are up 17-6 at half. So guess what? We decide that we need to throw the ball in the second half and Maryland comes back and wins. I was sick after this game because of the offensive playcalling. Defense had us in the position to win the game. Fourth and inches on our last drive, and a QB sneak gets stuffed to basically end the game. Wake Forest: No offense at all. The final score ended up being somewhere like 12-7. Again defense had us in position to win, offense floundered. Bowden refuses to blame Rob Spence (the OC) and says that our offensive players just didn't make plays. Bowden would not fire the OC so he himself got the axe, according to my sources. Dabo Swinney was named interim head coach and immediately fires Spence. Start Dabo era. Georgia Tech: Honestly, I didn't really expect to win this one. Dabo had taken over on Monday of this week, but we played much better against them. Dabo kind of had his hands tied offensively, because he was stuck with Spence's offense. There was an immediate improvement in the playcalling, although it was the same plays. Tigers lose 20-17, but still most Tiger fans were pleased with what they saw for Dabo's first game. Florida State: We had our chances in this game, but ultimately didn't play well down the stretch. This game and the Alabama game were the two games that our defense didn't have us in position to win. It was a hard fought game, but the Tigers lose by two scores.
  5. What's that? You want a Tiger fan to come and play Sawgrass with you??? OK OK...I'll do it...
  6. I wouldn't worry bout it Huskers, ESPN is probably just basing it on NFL careers after winning the Heisman. ESPN is pretty overrated with their opinions, at least in my opinion.
  7. Oh yeah? Well our coach has never lost a bowl game ....as a head coach...he's lost the Music City Bowl and last year the Chic-fil-A Bowl. Ganz will be remembered as the QB who only beat one good team , KU. I sure as hell wouldn't be putting him on any GREATEST list. Clemson 42 NU 24 You're crazy. I agree! Clemson 146, Nebraska 3 You're psycho. LOL

  9. Some quick notes about Clemson Memorial Stadium. • The North Upper Deck (on the right in the bottom pic) is actually larger than the South Upper Deck. • The bottom pic is taken from the top of the hill (the hill is filled in with fans after the team runs down the middle of it, I'm sure you guys know that). • The beautiful new/in progress WestZone is directly ahead in the bottom picture. You can see the pre-WestZone Death Valley in the middle pic. Now wouldn't you Huskers like to come visit for a home and home???
  10. Giant flash cards. The motion was a bit jerky, but what the hey... LOL should have seen that one coming...
  11. Sorry for all the questions, but I'm trying to learn a little bout yall's tradition and such. I know (from YouTube) that the Tunnel Walk is a great tradition at Nebraska now, but how did the Huskers enter the field before it was technologically able to show the team on the big screen?
  12. I'd really like to see 2 conferences schedule a bunch of matches against each other in the same year. Problem is the distance for travelling fans. NU always brings a big contingent, but a lot of the other B12 teams don't travel very well. I suspect not a lot of ACC fans would travel to B12 destinations either. Yeah it would be hard to have Miami fans go all the way to Colorado or something...Some of the schools would travel well (Clemson / Nebraska), but a good chunk would not. Like no way Duke fans will travel for Football (BBall they would). Still, it would be nice to see a few more match ups, like the home and home we did w/ A&M a few years back. It'd be hard to have Miami fans go across town.

  14. The run starting at the 2:46 mark is incredible. Arguably one of the must unreal and greatest runs ever in college football history. That video is so emotional. I can't help but almost get teary eyed and jacked up for Husker football every time I watch it. It's become kind of a tradition at my house to put it up on the big screen before the game starts to get us all jacked up and ready to go! all fixed That's one of the classiest things I've seen on the internet between fans from different teams. Man, Clemson has some GREAT fans, don't they? I usually have a favorite team in each conference, and I might be switching from WF to Clemson in the ACC. I get teary-eyed just thinking about that run and everything Frazier meant to this program I can't wait to get home and watch these videos. Yall getting teary eyed is making me teary eyed that I can't see them at work!
  15. Keep hanging around HuskerBoard, and you'll see - oh, I don't know - about 35 topics a year urging the team to wear black jerseys. Yes, you read that correctly - black. For a team whose colors are red and white. In fact, I'm surprised that hasn't come up in this thread yet... Why is that so strange? I mean, we have the 'blackshirts' and alot of the Husker gear anymore has black in it... Black is sort of a generic 'we bad ass' type of jersey anyway, that alot of teams have in their mix. Yeah well we shouldn't wear black jerseys ever, since we have to stick with our red. That is what were known for, thats what all the fans wear to the games, and changing it to black for a game would just be a stupid gimmick. Only teams without a lot of tradition mess with their uniforms a lot (i.e. Oregon). Pretty sure they do that just because Nike gives them anything they want and they're still trying to find a way to make green and yellow not look disgusting Well, the OR Ducks thing is mostly about Nike trying to market their wide array of fashionable sports gear to the public more than it is about providing uniforms for a FB team. Ducks are like a big advertisement. Having like 50 uni combos for one team is STUPID! you do realize that Bill Bowerman (co-founder of Nike) used to be Oregon's track coach... right? i think it has more to do with the state of oregon, because nike also has some new retarded jerseys for oreSt every year too.... I actually liked Oregon St.'s unis this year. At least it was an upgrade from: to
  16. Some pics for my new friends, from Dec. 27, 2005....
  17. No offense, but this probably goes in the Former Skers Forum...
  18. I voted for Nebraska. Arkansas' helmets don't do anything for me.
  19. Our recently fired offensive coordinator was the primary problem for #28 CJ Spiller. Seems he wasn't smart enough to get the ball to CJ Spiller in open space. Rather, he'd have CJ attempt to make his own holes. I should also note we had a ridiculous number of injuried on the OL and I believe we ended up with something like 9 different OL's in 10 games. The two-point stance that our fired OC had us using didn't help either. Quick...somebody call Gene Chizek....ISU is looking for a new OC and this guy sounds like he would fit right into the Cyclone family... Cy, you don't want him, and I know you were being sarcastic, but I wouldn't wish Rob Spence on the Gamecocks, well maybe I would. He has a great MAC offense. We had friggin Barney Cotton as our OC a few years ago for God's sake... Hmmm...and I guess he's going to the Gator Bowl this year, while our old HC Dan McCarney is heading to the BCS Championship with Florida this year....uh....We have the longest road losing streak in all of college football! We're #1! We're #1! Actually he got fired 3 hours after Bowden. I was talking about Barney... LOL...indeed.

  22. Nasty Nasty Nasty. Light american lagers in general are f'ing worthless, then to add a can of tomato juice is just over the top. What is the beer of choice for the Huskers? IMO, can't go wrong with a Sam Adams, whether it is any seasonal (Octoberfest is my favorite though), Boston Lager, or Cherry Wheat, among others...Not a huge fan of Hefeweizen though. As far as the majority of Huskers? I really don't know. I actually have taste buds so I enjoy good beer. lol. Not a huge fan of wheat beer. Sam Adams makes some good brews, Oktoberfest would be my favorite(still got 30-40 bottles sitting in ym fridge right now), Honey Porter, Scotch Ale and Boston Lager follow it. We have a couple good Microbrews here, one located right in Lincoln(Empyrean) and they make a couple good brews(Fallen Angel sweet stout which is seasonal and then Third stone brown is an awesome brown Ale. Their fallfest is also a good brew) Topping my list has to be a delicious Guinness though, followed by misc brown ales, stouts, porters, etc. I do love me a good IPA or belgian dubbel/tripel though. Never had the Honey Porter, I'll have to try that. Any IPA is game with me. Also, there is a locally brewed beer in Atlanta called Sweetwater, but they only sell it in that area, but I love it. I actually was walking through the local grocery story the other day and there was a case of Octoberfest still there, so I had to get it. BTW...this thread will be moved in 5.......4......3.....2.....
