  1. heres a fact, whatever it is that BC wants to call his offense results in basicly no rushing attack to speak of this year, and lots of mistakes. BC needs to play to the strengths of the players hes got, whatever it may be. it would be great if we had the talent of a USC, but we dont so we cant play like USC. hell i would like to live like i had a billion in the bank, but i dont so i live like the middle class worker dud that i am and i work with what i have, just kind of a basic rule of life to live within your meanes, point being i dont think BC is living within his meanes. i just have my doubts that BC will ever be able to install this offense and run it the way he wants to with college level athletes that will come to NU when he had pros struggling to run it.
  2. 94 penn st. ????????? how could you forget them???????? kinda why IMO it was extreme to can FS, but here we are........ almost took the words out of my mouth, but alot more civilized. as far as this season goes, if we finish above .500, it will be progress, all i was asking for at the start of the season, progress. as far as BC getting the axe, IMO that would be a bad idea, i think change would just make things worse. let BC dig his own grave if he cant cut it, but firing him would just make another national headline which is the last thing the program needs right now. im not a big BC fan, but IMO another coach getting fired would cause more major issues, let him finish his time and then move on if needed.
  3. thats really pushing it, maybe im just used to it after so long though, but they seem to be competitive about half the time so theyre usually worth watching.
  4. i agree with almost everything said on here. BC will be given next year for sure and probably till his contract ends even without improvement. i dont believe he will be fired because as many have stated, i also believe it would be the kiss of death for the next 10 years or so, instability causes recruiting problems and problems aquiring a capable coaching staff that wouldnt have to fear for their jobs in their minds. i would say its safe to say we'll be seeing cally-ball for another couple of years for better or worse, hopefully by then it will be cut and dry about whether he can do it here or not instead of things looking kinda grey. the huskers will win sat. if peterson doesnt get going and bomar has to try to make too many plays, IMO the defense will be able to exploit his inexperience if he is put in that situation, if peterson gets going the huskers may be in for a tough battle.
  5. hmmmm.........strange another big ten game, thats new........... oh well at least im not on the west coast
  6. got ya now, but i think hes the reason the game turned around for them, or the way the offensive coaching staff used him. the husker offense shooting themselves in the foot is definately by their own hand, which IMO made the defense have to spend way too much time chasing. IMO this team still has some of the same problem it did last year, and that is its lack of production on offense puts too much pressure on the defense.
  7. think this game may come down to the 4th qtr just because of all the emotion that will be involved on both sides. games like this usually turn out really close or one just seems to really pull away.
  8. you really lost me here, maybe i missed something though
  9. its always bad when a group of people suck and others have to try to cover up for their ignorant "douchebag" asses. im quite sure that a win over the huskers will be big for mizzou for quite a while considering recent history so im sure if it happens again some of that behavior will show up again unfortunately. anyway im sure you guys cant be as bad as some of the michigan fans ive had to listen to, they curse their own players, coaches, fans and basicly life in general sometimes.
  10. IMO the huskers lost because mizzou seemed to come out in the second half with a game plan, and really implemented well. smith really seemed to start to come back to life in the second half, i noticed that mizzou was getting offensive calls in kinda late almost, as if they were waiting to see how the D lined up so they could make the call instead of smith. i think you really just have to give a win to the mizzou offensive staff and brad smith for playing a hell of a game. something else i noticed that i found kinda odd was that they kept having the backs block ends and linebackers, linebackers i can see, but ends thats pretty demanding for any back espicially ross, hes not the biggest guy and all, i just kinda thought they would put someone else in there with a little more size if they were having to keep a back in that much for protection. maybe had something to do with blocking schemes not being understood as well by the others or something. well there are still some more tough games ahead, hopefully they can bounce back and improve on last years record by a couple at least, and hopefully have a little bit better rushing attack from this game for sure.
  11. uhh yea thats why i said he should have adjusted his gameplan until......... i agree though it does seem like they are playing much better as a team.
  12. i think PSU is for real, they had some definite holes that got filled by freshman, and robinson is finally staying at one position. bama is a good example of believing you can win, aswell as ND. IMO i think thats why this years huskers are playing better, they believe in each other more than last year. they have developed some trust in their coaches too it IMO, which seemed like it was lacking last year.
  13. the TT game was played well in some part, the fact they went down 21 and came back is good, but the fact they went down 21 isnt. the offense is playing better, the defense is still playing well, but they have a ways to go before they can win a big 12 championship. as far as FF goes some of you need to actually read what he is saying in the his posts instead of just picking out his negative points, i really get sick of hearing about how everyone knows that BC is the man to turn it around and FF doesnt know jack s**t about anything, until BC reaches a bowl and a record that matches what FS did he is suspect, prove it to me thats all im saying and i think thats all FF wants to, hes just kind of an extemist. i dont care if he FS left him with high school players he should be able to just about duplicate the sucess that came before him. ya ya hes got to have his players....... how about adapting his game plan some till that happens? they are improving and i am happy about that, and ive pretty much forgot what i thought of the game after reading everyone elses better than thou crap on here.
  14. sorry i thought they played texas instead of the buffs at the end of the year.
  15. stength of schedule is the problem, nothing new you should be used to it by now, alot of the teams that are 3-2 have played top ranked teams unlike the huskers who have played no one in the top 10 and came in unranked as well, right now this team lacks credibilty in the national picture and i agree to a certain degree because the schedule has been quite weak up to the pitt/iowa stish games, and i think both of them will turn out to be a bust in the end being ranked, especially pitt. preseason ranking sucks, but it does figure in.
  16. im gonna have to say texas is a no on that. the huskers are playing much better, but texas will be too strong im afraid.
  17. IMO T.O.P is the key, the less the tech O is on the field the better, i agree they are gonna score, but if we can keep them off the field for long streches it might hopefully keep them from getting in a major rythme, if we dont the scoreboard may turn into a slot machine like it did last year even with the O playing better im not sure we can keep up if it turns into a major offensive shootout.
  18. i was actually pretty shocked by the O in the ISU game, im going with the 50/50 chance on this one, and i think that is fairly positive considering last year, yes that is fear you sense....... if the O can produce points well be in it, but i agree about the T.O.P. the defense will get tired chasing all day if they dont get a break.
  19. thought baylor actually played pretty well shutting down A&M's offense considering how well they have been playing, they maybe someone to actually worry about some IMO.
  20. totally agree, this is pretty much all ive been asking for. FINALLY!
  21. yea, saw that later on, anyhow guess hebstreit was wrong ehh.
  22. if the huskers get out front early they will have a major adavantage, if not things could get kinda nasty if the D has to play forever. wasnt that dillard kid the one that said BP was talkin all that smack? sounds like the kid just likes attention.
  23. herbstreit picked the huskers too didnt he?
  24. guess you stopped reading where you chopped my post off. i never implied to fire BC or SP, not sure where you pulled that out of? my point is that im not seeing much progress IMO, and i dont like it. totally agree that more change will cause more problems at this point, so im content on letting this take its course. i just had hopes for more improvement this year, hopefully i will be pleasently suprised with the rest of the season, and i doubt my bitching will have any outcome on the future of the program.
  25. ***NOTE THE WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT PART****** and Texas squeeked by. Texas plays a big ten schedule all year and they will get beat.
