I don't necessarily agree with this. A very discreet show of support would be more than adequate. Doing anything to draw that much attention can be taken the wrong way. Right or wrong; to me part of the problem is lumping these tragic events together with this game. It is purely coincidental that NU is playing PSU during this tumultuous time. PSU needs to heal granted. Support the victims first and foremost. Attempt to understand and be empathetic to those struggling to comprehend how people they trusted could have allowed this to happen. It is a sad state of affairs all the way around no doubt. Lets not feed the media circus this has turned into. They will not postpone or cancel this game so our team has to play and move on. Pray for the victims and do whatever they can if so inclined; I just don't think this game should be used by NU as a way to make a statement about the events surrounding it. Just to add. College football, specifically Penn State, is walking on egg shells right. How about they show up the same way they always would. Play hard, with respect and honor....then leave. There is far too much going on for us to get involved in anyway whatsoever. also, if we did anything it could come out as cheap and disingenuous. as if we were making it about us and how upstanding we are. i agree with a lot of the sentiments, this is getting enough attention and it is the type of tragedy that requires tact, taste, and circumspect. This. Leave it alone. A blue N a blue ribbon could be misread by many. Play the game. No mention of what happened. Leave the field, move on.

This isn't something that just happens to us. I live in OK. And believe me any time they lose or play flat I hear the same thing from there fan's.

This got me to thinking. why don't we use more of the former player's for position coach's. It seem's to work pretty well for OU. Will Shields to help with O-Line, Grant Wistrom with D-Line. I would think this would help with recruiting some of the better player's out there as well.

If JoePa had doubt's about this being true why not go see for himself. people lie, but something like this has to be looked into personally. Doesn't matter if he believed it or not.

This is not a knock on Frank, but wasn't the main problem with recruiting during his time as HC that our offense was out dated, and most kid's want to play in a pro style offense.

We shouldn't boycott. This was not something that happened at UNL. And as stated above unless there is a direct threat against our player's and coach's then no need to cancel.

If you win they will come. As said before the best recruiting ground's are in the south east, texas and cal. We need to make an impact in these place's. If we can't, then used to what is happening now. More of the same.

Texas was looking for the bigger better deal long before we ever thought of moving to a new conference. Even mizz. was hoping for a B1G invite that never came. Just saying. We never started this sh$t we just did what they were looking to do all along.

Also look at where at compared to the S E C school's. We are are in on one 5 star. The rest might list us in there top 5, but never get them here.

Yeah probably. We haven't shown any ability to recruit top talent. Really how many 5 star kids actually come here 1 a year. That ain't gonna cut it. we need to press some of the kid's to commit now. no more wait and see.

There's the problem. The top talent kids stay in the S E C. Not many coach's are going to win title's with the recruit's we have. The worst part is, these kids will line up 3-4 deep on an LSU, ALA FLA. roster rather than come to Neb, to play. Closer to home more national exposer. And a shot at an MNC.

I hope not . We always seem to lose gameday game's.

I don't think anyone has a problem with it per say, it's the fact that the coaches seem to rely on it when they should be putting scholarship players available to play instead. That was on of Frank's problems was that he relied on it way too much and handed out undeserving scholarships to players since they had extra because he didn't recruit enough players to fill out the roster. Now it seems as if Bo is making the same mistake and you are seeing the result of having to play those guys as it was stated above. There is nothing wrong with a kid working his tail off and earning a scholarship, but that should be the exception, not the norm. I just don't think we have any scholarship player's available. we are pretty thin on D right now with all the injuries.

I personally don't have any problems with the walk-on program. Right now we have several player's out with injuries and not enough schollie players to fill in, without burning more red shirt's, and putting guy's on the field that just aren't ready.

We have have trouble getting the top talent to come here. Somebody mentioned that kids don't want to set 2-3 deep so they go to other schools to play early. But yet they line up 3-4 deep to play at LSU, ALA., FLA. , AND USC. WHY? I think alot of kids could play early here but we don't let them.
