  1. This x1000. Bubba is not a good or even average passer at this juncture in his career. If he decides to pass up the MLB, he will likely see time at QB and likely WR, but in no way should he be the STARTER next year. I could see him subbing in, but if he is the starter, it will probably be a long season. I love the way he said he wants to come after Martinez's job right away, but if he is the starter are offense likely becomes pretty one dimensional. Oh well, at least if we went that route, and he got hurt, we'd actually have a backup to come in with the same type of abilities! 74 hunter... Carter cannot RS. He's a 2 for 2 guy. He's got the size and ability to play alot next year... we shall see. I'm also high on E Mart, and he should stay at DE... I don't think he's mentally capable of grasping the defense the way we need our backers to... Especially if he's two years in and THEN they switch him. That says all that needs to be said. Still hoping on Ankrah, he was a beast recruit coming out of Maryland. He's got time to develop yet. Fuzzy, Yusef Wade is working at RB, and I believe he won Scout Team MVP last year. For all the guys talking about AA redshirting or not, there was some positive talk about Wade at the end of last year. I guess we'll see if it's just buzz come next season.
  2. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5585220 Do more research before posting. Thanks! I think he meant recruiting wise. Green's suspension is honestly one of the few times I can remember the NCAA getting involved and banning somebody. Most of the time it's self imposed by the head coach or the higher ups.
  3. Of course... Ain't nobody needs help with the ladies rocking the Flat Top.
  4. Well, if I read right, Peterson has about 20 lbs. on Prince (who weighs 205)... 225 for a CB must be a PHYSICAL specimen. That's RB weight territory. He can probably punish people. Unfortunately, measureables don't always equate to success... otherwise so many guys wouldn't be out of the league within years of entering it. So, if Prince is indeed more polished and less of a "project," I'd have to give him the nod. Ask the Raiders how well it works to take projects in the top 10.
  5. Even so Knapp, I find it odd that with the whole wide world of coaches lil Kiff could hhave to choose from, they pick Gilmore. Obviously, he's available, but so are literally hundreds of other candidates. I guess I could see them taking him on the merit of the solid recruiting classes we've had during his time as RC, but even then, that lone redeeming quality doesn't even have anything to do with teaching young men to become better receivers.
  6. Well, if it happens, this gives the acronym USC a whole new meaning... Unequivically Sucky @ss Catching Just feels right.
  7. I've always considered Lane Kiffin mildly retarded... So this move makes sense.
  8. I find it interesting the duo split up. So much for Wats taking Teddy with him. Not much he can do for the guy as a QB coach tho I suppose.
  9. To bshirt (can't quote you on iPod daggummit): Idk man- something about Tmart steppin into sacks like a blindfolded human piñata last season (injured or not) doesn't inspire confidence. He has the pocket presence of a mentally slow giraffe. Or, to make an easier analogy, he's about as effective at avoiding the rush as Huskerboard members trying to post after KChusker_Chris.
  10. Makes me proud to be a Husker fan. Proud to know none of us would do something stupid like this... Bout the worst I can think of off the top of my head was us turning on our own player and calling Niles "Burger King hands" after the Texas game. And it IS tempting, now that I think about it, to kidnap Ralphie the Buffalo from CU (ala Homer Simpson capturing Sir Oinksalot from Springfield A&M). I read in a Men's Fitness article that Dwight Freeney has a special diet to enhance performance and recovery that consists of mostly bison steak as a protein source. Wouldn't mind trying some...
  11. Some jerk redneck Alabama fan traveled down to a favorite meeting place of Auburn fans to celebrate wins... He poisoned the trees outside this place. Don't know if anybody else caught wind of this. It was just on Headline News as well... Apparently, they're holding the guy in custody, although the ESPN article I'm linking to was written before they caught him. Anyway, this guy had the balls to call into a sports talk radio show down there and tell them straight up what he did. He signed of the call with "Roll Damn Tide"... Talk about bitter! Anyway, guess he had the balls but not brains, cuz now he's in some hot water... ESPN Article
  12. Hahahaha.... On Sportscenter, they just announced it's Bob Lee's birthday. Everybody wish daddy Lee a good one!

If only ESPN had more Bob Lee's it actually might be worth watching from a sports news standpoint. He's the mang.

  13. Marty will be a Junior next year. Kiper doesn't list Juniors on his Big Board this far in advance. It is interesting to think that Martinez could declare after this season, though. SEEMS WAAAAAYYYYY too early for him to leave, especially since he just burst on the scene. But, redshirt sophomores can leave. Anyway, it's totally a moot point at this point anyway... Unless he wins the Heisman next year, he'd have to have head damage to declare after the season.
  14. One thing I do like about Garrison is that he played under Milt and Dan. For some reason, I got the impression somewhere along the line that he played under Cotton during his time here. Not true. Garrison graduated in 2002; Cotton was here for a year in 2003. Having a Barney student helping Barney coach might've gotten a bit... redundant.
  15. Just curious what how you guys think this will all shake out. We all know who's getting hired now and we've all put in our two cents about that. But how do you think these new coaches will actually affect the players' growth and development? Obviously, you have to take into account player attrition (i.e., losing Alex means our special teams PROBABLY won't get better), and the influx of the new recruits, but... Also I realize it's difficult since we don't really know who's going to be coaching what on offense as of yet. When making this poll, I'm thinking Fisher is going to be the RB coach, Garrison will be the second OL coach, and Ron Brown will become the new WR/TE coach. Bearing that in mind, my personal vote goes to WR. Ben Cotton and Kyler Reed have progressed nicely under his tutelage. Now, if Ben could just cut down on dumb personal fouls/getting molested in the huddle...
  16. Well, a lot of people seem to think that Fisher will be the RB coach and that Brown will bump out to coach the WR's and either keep the TE's as well or somehow Cotton will wind up coaching them. That would leave either Beck with the same duties as Wats (QB/OC) or someone like Ganz coaching the QB's. Having Brown bump out to WR's may be wishful thinking, unfortunately. No solid news yet... although Sean Callahan seems to think Bo is still interviewing for another position on the offensive staff.
  17. top recruiters for sure No worries, we will send in Richard Fisher. Well, can't believe no one's made this joke yet, but here goes... No worries in the recruiting world when your head guy is Dick Fisher.
  18. Texas can hump a moose. (On back of cue card while interviewing Noah Vanderhoff) "Texas blows goats... I have proof."
  19. As an aside before I reply to EZ... I agree with Huskers1... Garrison is probably a good coach, but it would've been nice to get a spread/pass pro Oline coach to aid Barney in his (pass pro) futility. EZ... I don't think it would've been a death penalty if we'd had a losing record again. Ty Willingham did it the year before he went 0-fer with his Husky team... Only he then got fired. So it wouldn't have been the end of DONU... Just probably the end of Bo's reign. I don't know how much slack they would've given him. I would hope at least one more year after having said losing record, but in the "win now" society we live in, I could see us firing Bo after a bad first year. Also, I'd like to point out... I don't know if any of you guys were the same way, but after we fired Cally, I was gung ho with Wats and thought he'd do great. It had to do with the playcalling under him in 07 (the first half of the CU game, when we went into halftime ahead) LOOKED so much better when compared to Callahan's playcalling (we lost that game and guess what: Callahan took over playcalling at half-time). Now, that loss probably had more to do with our gaping hole, Cosgrove D... But I for one, in 08, thought Wats would lead us to the promised land offensively.
  20. Heard... maybe next year. Doubt he's getting on campus this year. The door's wide open for AA to step in as well, though...
  21. Where are people getting this assumption from? Is it because he coached Running Backs here? Isn’t his time at KU as WR coach/passing game coordinator? Did he run the ball all the time at Missouri State or when he was coaching High School in Texas? Everything I’ve seen points towards a spread’em out fast pace offense. Not a ground and pound style. Some of the best running teams use a spread’em out fast pace offense. I just see him utilizing the RB much more then Watson did and less reliance on the QB to make that decision. Which is too bad, b/c if we had had Beck relying on RB's last season instead of putting the entire offense on Martinez, we could've done great things. Roy/Rex was the best combo we've had in a while.
  22. 69-67 with about a minute to go... We steal the ball and break on them 3 on 2... and bad pass from Jeter to McCray out of bounds... Baylor ball.
  23. McCray is absolutely on fire right now. Unfortunately, so is LaceDarius Dunn.
