  1. Scout is reporting he has finally set a date for his arrival on campus and is bringing a friend... could it be world beater 2010 DE Ronald Powell from Rancho Verde, his school?
  2. Bear in mind that David originally committed during the Callahan regime. Bo's coachers kept him aboard and continued recruiting him, and I don't know why Bo would lose interest in the kid, as he seemed to be a terrific cornerback prospect... perhaps he just wants to close the door. Let's hope not and that it all works out for the best. Just food for thought.
  3. I think he's more or less gone if ND offers. He wants to play QB, and kids continue to think Notre Dame is a top notch program, for some reason...
  4. Was told tonight by a buddy that Hoch texted Brandon Scherff, another Iowa recruit, who lives in my hometown, that he is 100% sure that he's picking Iowa and will make it official soon... maybe next week. Who knows if it's final though. Interesting, given that Dan is at Mizzou and Iowa just scored a DL recruit, Mike Hardy.
  5. Wow we're raking in alot of these athlete/player of the year types... the other being Martinez. Albeit, player of the year in Cali might be a little more impressive to some than athlete of the year in ND, but Qvale looks to be one heck of a stud.
  6. Idk if you guys noticed this, I didn't until I checked his Rivals page... Oregon hasn't even offered yet. And with those measureables, he'd make a mean wide receiver also. D End is probably where we want him though, you're right.
  7. Oh my bad man... I got confused. I just remembered Bonnell was in the same state as one of our other targets. Forget it was Moudy and not Burgess. We seem to have a really good well, Pipeline pipeline going to Colorado right now...
  8. I noticed today Mike Brown signed with the Cheifs and Dominic Raiola signed an extension with the Lions. Detail of Brown's contract are unknown yet, but Raiola's is a four year extension worth up to $20 mil, with $9 mil guaranteed. Great to see!
  9. If anyone wants to get a better feel for how Aaron feels regarding us and recruiting in general, I would def recommend listening to the HI Radio with him... it's free. He talks alot about his faith, his bro getting moved in, and how he has developed a great bond with coach Brown, calling him a good, spiritual man. He also said "that might need to be the place I need to be." Apparently, Andrew ended up picking us because he felt spiritually comfortable here, and no where else. Definitely interesting... we do seem to have a good start. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders and is ready to make a smart decision. Aaron talked about wanting to grow the best he could on the field, in the classroom, and spiritually. http://nebraska.rivals.com/content.asp?SID...&CID=890537
  10. The stories on Scout and Rivals about Carter seem to be contradicting each other. The rivals one asks if NU is still number one for Carter, while the new Scout one says an "SEC Power" has entered thrown their hat into the ring, which I assume is Alabama, b/c I don't consider Miss. State a power... but it could be either. Who knows what's going on with him?
  11. Fehoko would be a great addition to this class... It would definitely get the ball rolling for defensive studs. Rivals had an article about Bo recruiting him personally... probably nothing cuz all I got was the teaser. Probably just dreamin out loud here. We haven't had much luck with getting Poly kids to come to Nebraska lately.
  12. I wonder why we aren't making a bigger push for this kid. Especially with our recent focus on Mizzou as a recruiting grounds. I trust the coaches, though, and if they think Bonnell or Burgess (both from Mizzou also) are better players, go for them.
  13. Illinois' Rivals sight has 4 QB's listed as already on the roster... for some reason, ESPN's (for me) only listed one, with no sign of Juice Williams. Weird. Anyway, that makes 5 QB's already (1 recruit). We currently have 5 too (6 if you count Martinez). Seems like competition would be about the same. Starters for both schools are juniors. Just depends on where he wants to go... but I would definitely love to see him come here, with his body and athleticism. I agree that we might be his best fit.
  14. Sucks for him. You know they probably won't offer now... they seem to get one Golden Boy for QB every year and stop there. As it stands RIGHT NOW, I see it coming down to either us (as a QB/ATH, like Martinez) or home state Illinois... but it's just a guess- I'm in no way in the know.
  15. Put on the full court press for this big guy. He could be an absolute beast in the trenches at DE, a position of need. Somebody get Ek to a tattoo parlor!
  16. Lol suck one mizzou... now we might have a Chase of our own... Silly tigers, thinkin they can win by stockpiling all the Chases in the Big 12. Gotta love a tight end with that size... it's weird, but it seems like ALOT of JUCO guys have really good measureables. Anyway, anybody know anything about this kid? Anyone wanna dig up some stuff on how he was recruited coming outta high school? He signed with ISU outta HS but did he have any big time offers?

  18. On HI, it says "1st official confirmed?" which leads me to believe they're not BSin us. Anyone know who it is and when they're coming ?
  19. Any news news on Lucas front?... seems kinda quiet. I wonder if Mizzou is really all that much of a favorite now.
  20. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/...tory?id=4276196 BOUNTIFUL, Utah -- Under Armour All-American linebacker V.J. Fehoko (Kahuku, Hawaii/Kahuku) was already familiar with the recruiting process before it even began for him. Fehoko's older brother, Sam, signed with Texas Tech in the Class of 2007. Another brother, Whitley, signed with San Diego State in the Class of 2006. "When you see the process unfold as a spectator, it's exciting," V.J. Fehoko said. "But when it happens to you, it's sort of a reality check." Hawaii, Nebraska, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Utah, Texas Tech, Washington, California, UCLA, Colorado and other schools in the Mountain West and WAC have offered Fehoko a scholarship. Southern California is seriously evaluating the hard-hitting linebacker, as well. "I have no favorites," he said. "I am giving every school a chance to recruit me." Fehoko was in Lubbock, Texas, during the spring to watch his brother's spring game and he got an up-close look at the Red Raiders. This caused some speculation that he too would be casting his lot with Mike Leach's program. "The only reason I was there was to see my brother's spring game," he said. "If he had not been playing for Texas Tech, chances are I would not have been at Texas Tech visiting for that long." Still, that certainly doesn't mean the Red Raiders aren't under heavy consideration. One of the things that Fehoko is looking at is atmosphere. He says he wants to go to a place where on gameday, the "town stands still" and says that the atmosphere in Lubbock is like that. "When they beat Texas this past year, they rushed the field like three times," he said. Most of the Hawaiian prospects that talked recruiting at All-Poly expressed a strong desire to head to the mainland to play college football. V.J. has a lot of teams from the mainland in the mix for his services, but has not ruled out the University of Hawaii, where his father Vili is the unofficial mascot for Warriors football games. "I am going to give Hawaii a chance," V.J. Fehoko said. "I like Hawaii. Growing up with my dad there, I was always watching the games from the sidelines and I still feel that is home to me when I watch." Fehoko talked about the things he would be looking for in a program. "The crucial factor for me is my position coach," he said. "That's key because I will be building a relationship with him and he will be the one developing me for the next 4-5 years. I also would like to have a good relationship with the head coach for that same reason. I want to be in a good environment, too. Not some place where I can get in trouble and I can just focus on football and academics." Jeez, those bold parts really, really seem to describe our team to a tee. Imagine if he hit it off with Bo and Ek... he'd be ours to lose...
  21. That's weird. This cut to the top 5 is the first I've heard of this kid. I didn't even know he had an offer. Oh well, reel him in...
  22. He plays for Southlake (TX) Carroll, and played behind Brayden Burnett and Jackson Richards. Burnett signed with Mizzou's 2009 class and Richards is currently committed to Texas Tech. They talked about Perry during the HI.com radio show. John Talmon was pretty high on the kid and they said he raised eyebrows at camp... Burnett profiles: http://missouri.rivals.com/viewprospect.as...mp;pr_key=82973 http://michigan.scout.com/a.z?s=162&p=...amp;nid=3774749 Richards profiles: http://texastech.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=81630 http://texastech.scout.com/a.z?s=188&p...amp;nid=3024253
  23. Coleman wasn't even listed on Scout's Top 5 NE recruits list. They had S Tyler Evans listed as 2 behind A Rod. LOL yea that's right... Nebraska TOP 5...! Today they also released their Georgia Top 100 list. Just goes to show you how much of a recruiting wasteland we are in geographically, in Scouts' opinion.
