  1. After the emotional victory on the road last week, I am expecting a letdown. I am predicting TX Tech 31, NU 20. Let's hope that I'm wrong.

  4. Two teams the Huskers will jump in the polls... and hopefully Michigan will beat Iowa...
  5. I met Tommie a few years back in Hattiesburg, MS when the Huskers played Southern Miss. I had my Frazier jersey on, and walking up the ramp to go to my seat, when someone tapped me on the shoulder and said, "I like that jersey." I looked over to say thanks, and it was Tommie. I took a pic w/ him and it truly was one of the most exciting moments of my life. He was my idol as a teenager and was able to do some things that many great players before (and after) him were unable to do.
  6. I don't see him winning it, but I do think it would be extremely cool if he was invited to the presentation as a finalist.
  7. I live in Baton Rouge, but I can't make it to Gameday tomorrow. HOWEVER, my Louisiana license plate is personalized and says GO NU on it; I have 4 NU car flags (one for each window); I have an Nebraska Football decal on my rear window; I have a Nebraska 5-time National Champions license plate frame. People down here look at me like I'm crazy and tell me I should like LSU... my response is, "Don't you know that Nebraska is 5-0-1 all-time versus LSU?"
  8. I live in Baton Rouge and used to teach in Dorsey's school system (Ascension) and I've seen him play numerous times. He's a great player, but he's no Ndamukong Suh.
  9. I am guessing 18/19... hopefully higher, but I doubt it. The next 3 games are wins, as far as I'm concerned. The games vs. Oklahoma and Kansas will determine the fate of the team. Ahh, just imagine if they could run the table up until the Big 12 Championship...
  10. Crouch was great, but Frazier was my favorite, by far.
  11. No offense to Missouri fans, but seriously, the only reason Missouri should even be mentioned in the same sentence as Nebraska when it comes to football is if it's the week the Huskers are playing the Tigers. I keep hearing this talk about "Missouri tradition"... what tradition? Missouri has no tradition when it comes to football. Sure the Tigers have played the Huskers tough over the past decade or so, but if I recall correctly, there was a stretch in the not-so-distant past where Nebraska won 24 in a row over Mizzou. I mean it's all well and good that you support your team and all, but come on, get real. When it comes to football success and football tradition, comparing Missouri to Nebraska would be like comparing the New Orleans Saints to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
  12. I was also a fan of Frank Goodish... I remember his feud with Ivan Putski back in the old-school WWWF.
  13. Not to rain on anyone's parade, but if NU beats Mizzou, barring some losses by a few teams ahead of them, I just don't see them jumping into the Top 15. The pollsters have shown zero respect thus far and a win vs. Mizzou would be nice, but I don't think it would be significant enough for them to jump the Huskers up a bunch of spots. It's like nobody even remembers that NU only lost to VT by one point on a last-minute drive...
  14. I think they should be ranked somewhere between 11-15 right now. 21/22 is way too low.
  15. FLU

    Your Top 10?

Here's mine: 1. Florida 2. Alabama 3. Texas 4. Boise St. 5. Houston 6. Cincinnati 7. TCU 8. Michigan 9. Oklahoma 10. Va. Tech FWIW, I'd have the Huskers somewhere in my next 5.
  16. Neither LSU nor USC belong anywhere near the Top 10.
  17. This is ridiculous, and quite upsetting, to me at least. I know the polls don't mean much, and there's a lot of football still left to be played, but this is a slap in the face IMO. The Huskers are getting no respect at all. With a win against VT, Nebraska would be a Top 10 team right now. Instead, with a 1-point loss, they are stuck at 23/24. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
  18. Unfortunately, the best team doesn't always win. I believe NU is better than VT, but we all saw what happened last week. The Huskers must play error-free and be able to execute with efficiency in order to beat Mizzou.
  19. With the talent they will have returning, and barring an unexpected collapse this season, I would think that the Huskers would be projected to be a Top 10 team next year. Any thoughts?
  20. I could see a loss with Oklahoma...maybe one other with Missouri or Kansas, but not both. But Baylor? No friggin' way, man! We shall see... I still think 9 wins (including the bowl win) is probable.
  21. If the Huskers finish with 9 or more wins this season, I'll be very impressed. I see losses ahead vs. Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Baylor.
  22. I think this game will be closer than expected. Just because you've never heard of ASU doesn't mean they are a bunch of slouches. The team has some great athletes and some good speed. If Callahan was still coaching, I'd be a little concerned. I'm picking NU to win this one 31-20.
  23. A jump in the polls this week is meaningless if they lose to VT. Beat VT in Blacksburg, and then you should see a jump in the polls.
  24. No offense, and not to be negative, but I see little chance of the Huskers winning this game. I voted 10-20%, and that was being VERY optimistic. I predict VA Tech to win by double-digits. I'm going to the game, so hopefully that won't be the case...
