  1. Wow, i cant believe how much trash talking goes on between Mizzou and Nebraska, and football season hasnt even started yet! haha. But to throw in my two cents, im a dedicated NU fan, and my best friend is a dedicated Mizzou fan, during the past two years, the two horrible losses, i congratulated him and Mizzou for the wins. We have beat up on Missouri plenty of times, its only fair for them to return the favor The scales will always tip back and forth when it comes to rivalries, thats why they are called rivarlies.
  2. Thank you. You know your football. That primary you stated about Oklahoma is the reason i think the OU-NU game is going to be better than it was last year. We have a returning starter at DT and a semi-experienced DL with a talented LB corps behind that. I see no reason, cept for maybe our offense not clicking, to see this as a good game.
  3. Ganz didn’t go to the combine. I thought all draftees did... wow, learn something new everyday.
  4. So he felt that couldnt get a good enough education at NU then, huh? Smart of him to go to a Division 2 team, that way he wont be on the opposite side of SUHHHHH! haha just kidding. Good Luck Witt.
  5. Totally with you on that. Chase ruined the friendly rivalry i admired between Missou and Nebraska with that 'spit' allegation. I blame the 4 pitful years under Callahan for the biggest loses to the Tigers in a long time. Mostly because i believed that he was not a good motivator on the team. When we were down big (more than 2 scores) our players just seem to have a depressed attitude on the field. When Bo came in, you could tell he didnt stand for that. It showed during the Oklahoma when we were down nearly 30 points in the first half! I believe one of the commentators said you light a cigar on the man's head. Nevertheless, with Chase out of the picture, hopefully, win or lose next year, i can go back to having a friendly rivalry with Mizzou (best friend is a Mizzou fan). Ganz actually performed better than Daniels did during the NFL Combine Event prior to the draft, however it didnt change much. Cept for maybe they thought less of Chase. But uh, Ganz was being looked at by Chicago? even after they dumped all that money on Cutler? Here are my feelings of Stafford being drafted to the Lions. Good luck man, I dont see him being any different from the other 5-7 first round QB drafts pick they have picked up every year. Stafford will choke with the Lions, just like his predecessors and like them he will get released and get picked up by another team and a be a decent QB. So take that big bouns you got and put it away, you might need it in a few years when you get released. They only way the Lions can be a good team again, is to have a complete makeover, new team, new coaches, new owner.
  6. Yea i have to agree, it is a need based system. But if i remember right, Cody wasnt slotted to get drafted at all. Lucky was slotted to go in the 5-6th round. Swift was 7th. Slauson was another that wasnt picked to go, mostly due to his behavior and attitude. from what ive heard.
  7. I think Ganz will get the spot with Washington. I heard that Chase choked on his NFL Combine Event prior to the draft. I was expecting Marlon to get drafted, they said he really redeemed himself in the Combine after his injury, they dont really see him as a Power back, but more of a recieving one. He just needs to stick to it with the NFL. I mean, look at Buckhalter, how long did he play for the Eagles before he started seeing snaps last year? Or was it the year before?
  8. truthfully i dont really care why Cody got suspended. Breaking the rules is the same thing, no matter the circumstance. If Washington really cares im sure they will just contact Bo and ask him to disclose the information on his suspension and im pretty sure they will keep it among themselves. In the meantime, my congrats to Cody for being drafted. and i hope he thinks things out a bit more in the future.
  9. I hope Joe puts Chase in his place. unemployed. Chase seems too much like a "jerk" to play football. I think with time and coaching Joe can be a decent quarterback. He just has to be patient.
  10. Joe Ganz goes to the Redskins. Nate Swift lands not too far away in Denver. And Todd Peterson goes to Jackonsville. Marlon Lucky and fellow teammate Ty Steinkuhler go to the Bengals. Zach Potter will also go to the New York Jets. http://huskersgameday.com/tag/nate-swift/ hm, didnt realize there was another thread. i wish i could delete this, seems pretty redundant.
  11. hmm i dont seem to remember a Big 12 Championship game. But if Washington thinks we did, thats cool with me. Good pick Redskins, Cody Glenn should impress. Bad choice to pick up Chase Daniels.
  12. Florida Atlantic - W Arkansas St - W @ Va. Tech - W/L (toss up in the air, i would not be surprised if we pull out a close win and prove that we are starting out 2009 with a serious Husker attitude to make it to the top) Louisiana-Lafayette - W @ Missouri - W (Its payback time Missouri, i hope you bring lube, your gonna get the shaft for the first time since 2001) Texas Tech - W/L (We nearly beat them last year, i have a feeling that we can beat them this year knowing that we almost did it the year before. Though i do see a close game and anything can happen) Iowa State - W @ Baylor - W/L (Just like last year it was a close one, and we have fresh new players on the line and at backs, i hope they can contain griffin, if not, lets pray our offense can out score them) Oklahoma: L {Oklahoma is just too good for us right now, but that doesn't mean i don't believe in miracles, like injuries ) @ Kansas - W (Kansas proved awhile back that they can be a competitive team just like that, it was a close game last year, and it will be another one this year) Kansas State - W (Bo Pelini hasn't forgotten) @ Colorado - W (Last year was a good game that started out with mental mistakes, lets hope we learned our lesson this year so its not as close) Reg season record 10-2 North Conference Champs, Loss to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship. Games of interest... Va Tech - We need to start out the season with a big win if we want a shot at the Big 12 Championship Missouri - Everybody loves it when the Huskers give an ass-woopin' especially after 2 devastating losses to Missouri. Texas Tech - Went into overtime last year, and this year its gonna happen again. Baylor - It will be a sight to see how the husker defense handles them after last year. Oklahoma - It should be a better game than the first half of last year's game. Picking a winner of tougher games is hard, especially right now, but things should come more into focus later on.
  13. rawhide, i dont think it was directed that all students from UNL attending the game are drunk d*ckheads. But it is unfortunate that some bad apples ruin the fun for everyone else. I would have made an example for the kids though, and told them this is what happens when you drink alcohol and do drugs, haha.
  14. Your absolutely right, and Bo felt the same way too. I have every confidence this kid is staying and as soon as he shakes his case of the jitters, he will be great addition to the QB spot. I think after a year of being red-shirted, sitting on the sidelines, learning the playbook, getting used to sight and sound of teammates and fans during the fall, he'll shake that nervousness. Truthfully what he experienced was just a Spring Game, imagine an actually game, or even a Rival game. Grrrr Missouri is gonna get it this year, i can feel it!
  15. i have to agree Kyler's Reed 71 yard catch was the best highlight. Worth noting Okafor's TD run also looked impressive, his poise to slash through the line and then take off up the middle with that speed. I liked seeing Zac Lee show a great deal of calmness once he got settled into the game as well. Washington seems to be fine with backing up Lee this year or atleast competing for the starting job. Personally i find Lee to be the better candidate only because he seems more mentally prepared for Fall football than Washington, but who knows things could change and it will be interesting to see what happens come August.
  16. I think Washington proved he is a solid backup for Lee this year, and answered alot of questions as to whether or not the guy could play QB.
  17. Gresham is the All-American TE and McCoy at USC is also pretty good. Both are great blockers and receivers and in the 6'4"-6" and 260 plus range. I meant the Big 12 North Conference.
  18. I agree, Nebraska is in good hands with both Zac Lee and LaTravis Washington.
  19. going out there in front of 77,000, it can make someone like him a little nervous. but that will go away with time. 31-17 Red wins.
  20. haha@Bo "Is Cody going back for Prom?" "I don't know, i don't know if he has a date, i am trying to help him out with that."
  21. Well like the commentators said, we are stacked at TE. We have McNeill, Reed, Cotton, and Young. We are also fairly stacked on RB's as well, with Helu Jr, Castille, Okafor, and Ward.
  22. Cody Green missed pass to KC Hyland. KC is freakn' tall. 6'6" 205.
