  1. oh yea, McNeill is gonna be one of the best conference TE this year.
  2. haha, they said he is definately seeing stars after Castille hit him.
  3. ball on the 1 yard line. They really mean it when they say that they have been really improving Special Yeams this year.
  4. Green again, throws behind Brooks.
  5. def pass interference on Lance Thorell.
  6. end of the first quarter, not a bad game so far.
  7. First White drive, Washington 5/8 for 50 yards. not too shabby.
  8. it looks to be morning rain and cloudy skies to move out by around 10am, then skies clear towards the afternoon, which will lead to a good chance of showers and thunderstorms by the late afternoon and evening.
  9. No, i think its evenually distributed, maybe a little bit more experienced players on the Red side, but isnt that how it is suppose to be anyway?

  11. 1. Tommy Frazier not getting the Heisman 2. Bill Callahan announcing a West Coast offense for Nebraska 3. Nebraska Huskers 2004 and 2007 seasons 4. Pederson and Callahans contract extensions 5. 1994 Orange Bowl game lose to FSU
  12. i dont see how people can say ML was a bust for nebraska, especially when he predicted to go in the 6-7th round of the draft this year, just because he had an injury and Helu out-shined him, doesnt make him a bad RB. He did good in 2008, and did better in his previous seasons. I wish him luck in getting drafted and making a name for himself in the NFL, like Correll Buckhalter. Back on topic though, Koehler has always been a favorite pick of mine to start, and i hope he gets a starting position alongside Dillard in the reg season. May is a name in new with, but with the hype im hearing from fans and coaches, ill be looking for his number on the field come Saturday.
  13. Both, haha. Personally, seeing that Washington took the move from LB to QB, thats my hot pick for this game, i want to see what he has to offer at the QB position. It will be nice to see Cody Green in action as well. As for Lee, well i think its a matter of faith that i dont really care how this game turns out for him. With Helu not playing, and the fact that we have seen Castille in action during the Bowl game, it will be very interesting to see what other backs are out there behind these guys. i would mention Mendoza but it seems he has been moved to WR, a 5-11 WR. It would be fun to see Okofar, Ward and Jones take a few snaps. Brooks, Holt, Gilleylen, Cammack and Henry, 5 good wide recievers who have spent a good deal of time on the team behind Swift and Peterson, its going to be great to see all of them in action going up for passes Saturday. I praised McNeill last year for stepping up with Teafatiller, and i expect no less than what we saw last season to continue this year, but Young and Hill can now step up to get the credit they both deserve in this game. Allen and Turner take over for Ty Steinkuhler and Zach Potter, but im looking forward to see Baker Steinkuhler, Josh Williams, Cameron Meredith, and David Harvey as i feel they might be the future DL starters. Moore and Crick will get their shot to shine alongside Suh. Dillard is back, never had a chance to see him in action, but i cant wait, since the departure of Cody Glenn and Tyler Wortman. With Koehler and Holt as familiar to me as apple pie, May and Grove are two names in hearing alot about now, just another reason to watch the spring game, especially with Blake Lawerence out and Washington at QB. Lance Thorell, i kept seeing this guys name all over the field in the 08' and his biggest play was the broken up pass against the Buffs (play after that Suh intercepted the ball for a TD) I cant wait to see how much he has improved during the offseason. With Asante, Thenarse, and O'Hanlon back at safeties, im not too fond at watching the secondary this year, i just hope they improved on their speed. *sidenote* I wonder if we will see Justin or Jordan Makovicka play?
  14. Saturday: Occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 63. East wind between 8 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. *update* THUNDERSTORMS REMAIN POSSIBLE OVER MUCH OF THE OUTLOOK AREA SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT AS A LARGE UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM BEGINS TRACKING ACROSS THE PLAINS. ALTHOUGH THE SEVERE WEATHER CHANCES ARE HIGHER SOUTH OF THE REGION...A FEW STRONG OR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING OVER SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA AND SOUTHWEST IOWA. THIS WOULD ESPECIALLY BE THE CASE IF CLOUDS CLEAR OUT ALLOWING AFTERNOON HEATING TO FURTHER DESTABILIZE CONDITIONS...WHICH APPEARS QUITE PROBABLE ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80.
  15. I like the fact that they dont even go into detail about the games or team or anything. They just simply run down the list of scores. Like we dont need to go into detail about how good they were, the scores from the season alone tell you why The 1971 and 1995 Huskers deserve such a high ranking on the perfect teams.
  16. I saw the mock draft on the site before i came over here, interesting to see where the NU players might be for the Draft. However i a little bit concerned here. I didnt see a few husker names on the list, Steinkuhler for one isnt on that list but Potter is, and Larry Asante is projected for 2010, however i thought this 08' season was his last year with NU, but i guess after seeing his name on the Spring Game roster, he is here for another year.
  17. I agree with you, Witt is out the door, lets now look to the future which is Lee or Green. Major rep points to Bo for showing Witt, the team and fans how tough of a coach he is. If what was said about Crouch bullying Solich into begging him to come back, i had no idea that was case, but thats pretty sad. However it does make sense though. When he got drafted by the Rams as a CB, he was pissed and threaten to leave if they didnt make him QB, but he got injured and was let go by the team.
  18. This is how i feel about the Big 12 North. Nebraska - has lost its way but thanks to a better coaching staff is finding the path back to greatness. Missouri - has enjoy the last few season stomping over everyone in the rest of the division, well that time has come to end Tigers. Colorado - also has enjoyed the lack luster of the NU program, but we proved this year that things have changed. Iowa State - was in the same boat as us a year ago, but thankfully we jumped ship, hopefully they can find that path to being competitve. Kansas - was out of the loop too, but they found themselves a Cindrella story a few seasons ago as the #1 team in NCAA and almost went to a NT game. Kansas State - used to be good, they had a few upsets over the past couple of seasons by beating Texas, hopefully they can find the light switch. I respect every fan-base with the exception of the Texas Longhorns, grrrr.
  19. yea, it seems to me that the Witts tried to play Bo and the coaches into a corner to force him to make a decision on the QB, but Bo dont play that crap. Its sad that it came down to this, but clearly leaving is the right choice for Witt. Ive learned that you really cant trust anyone but yourself and you need to look out for yourself all the time. Clearly Witt is looking out for himself, he wants to find a place that isnt so competitve and a team that wants him to start without competing very much for the job. D1AA would be a great place for that kid who is in that mindset to not compete for the QB but just rather have it given to him. I think the main reason people want to see Green start this year, cuz they feel he might be the next McCoy or something. Ive never heard of Nebraska starting a true freshman. Anyone have an instance please let me know. The way i remember the QB starting positions since i started watching NU play, was Frazier, Frost, Newcombe, Crouch, Lord......i dont remember after that until Zac Taylor and so forth, and everyone one of those guys was not a true freshman who came into the season as a starter. Lee and Spano are the two top picks, Green needs a year to learn the offense that is setup for NU right now. My gut tells me that after Witt is transfering, Lee is going to be the pick with Spano backing up as #2. I will rout for Green in '10 to take the #2 spot from Spano and backup Lee for his senior year, and then watch Spano and Green battle it out for the starting position in '11. Good Luck Witt where ever you go. Anyone know what seniors are going in the draft this year?
  20. Yea i felt that Witt would have been a great choice for the starting QB spot, but from what ive read about Witt's father remarks, and what Bo said in his statement, i feel there is an underlying issue to his departure. If it was a football program thing or he felt he didn't feel comfortable with the system, i dont think he would need so much secrecy to his departure from the program. But Witt-aside, Spano, Lee, and Green are thr front-runners and it will be interesting to see the spring game and how they perform out there on the field.
  21. finally got around to re-buying a Xbox-360 Elite. After spending Saturday night updating rosters with names for the NU players, i played the season up to Missouri. Everything was cool, until i played the Tigers. Man i almost had a panic attack with that game. The score by the half was 14-24, which doesnt sound like much, but the offense just wasnt clicking, receivers were dropping passes, backs couldnt find open room to run, it was horrible, the only offensive score was by Lucky and that was within the first 5 min of the 1st. Finally late in the 3rd, Lucky broke out into the middle of the field and 34 yds for a touchdown untouched. 21-24, Defense held Tigers to the 14 and forced a FG, 21-27. I decided to try the recievers again and hope that Ganz didnt get picked off again. Threw a long lobe pass to Swift on a straight route 43yds and he catches it in the endzone with that famous NCAA one handed catch. 28-27, my first lead of the game. In the 4th, Lucky again gets a quick pass to the side from Ganz and takes it 32 yds for the touchdown, 35-27. Now it looks like my victory is secured. NO, Tigers rally down the field within the last 2 min to score a touchdown, 33-35. Now, they go for the two points, for the tie. Knowing Missouri and how they love to pass the ball, i setup a tough zone in the endzone, but it was Suh who deflected the pass from the line and saved the game. With time winding down with 30 secs left, i kneeled twice and called it a day. Not since i played Texas on NCAA 2008 have i been worried about losing an important game like that. Missouri was ranked #4, and i wasnt ranked, Missouri went to #14 and i went to #19. Next game will be Texas Tech.
  22. Yea apparently we play Tennesse on Septemer 10, 2016 and September 9, 2017 per the Huskers.com website. We play UCLA in 2012 and 2013, if anyone was interested.
