  1. Not even close (well sort of close)... B-Jax played for Callahan and didn't even begin to see the bulk of the carries until at least a quarter of the way into his final year. If B-Jax didn't get buried on the depth chart due to favoritism like frequently happened under BC, this wouldn't even be a point to argue in my opinion. B-Jax is/was the best back we've had at Lincoln since....? This is the real question in my opinion. Who was the last really really really good back (almost great) prior to B-Jax? And yes, if Helu stays healthy and plays like he did at Va Tech ALL YEAR, I will alter this tune a little bit about the 'not even a question' statement.
  2. It sounded like Unsportsmanlike Conduct was insinuating that Bo was a little peeved/concerned about Roy's lack of toughness...for what it's worth.
  3. Hahaha! What to do about Doc...what to do about Doc?!?!
  4. Until Bo says he kicked Q off the team for smoking weed, we dont know the actual reason. So yeah, its still hearsay. Bo would not dismiss anyone for hearsay. Any public reasons given for Q's dismissal IS hearsay (you're correct) and it SHOULD be (see #25). The fact that we don't know the reason does not mean that the basis for the dismissal was hearsay. Bo knows the reason and if you think it's hearsay then you should read Q's public statement when he left NU......it was HIS fault and he knew he violated team rules. Now flush the hearsay argument down the toilet. It's irrelevant. I'm not doubting Bo had cause for dismissing Q. I guarantee he was justified. I'm just saying we shouldn't judge a college kid so harshly, ESPECIALLY if his greatest fault was that he's a cheefer. I just don't like Al Sharptons aka people that live for putting other people down. We're all humans that make countless mistakes...especially in Q's phase of life. We should be more humane and root for people to make better decisions, especially ex-Huskers; not get off on watching people fall by the side of the road. That's all I'm saying...I'm not even condoning what was allegedly done...just saying I think it's funny that everyone is trying to judge Q personally based on an alleged accusation that we don't even actually know. I know that "something" occurred. DUH. I'm just saying that our statements debating this "event" are hearsay. Good try though.
  5. Are you sure he didn't break any laws? Rumor has it he was booted for smoking weed. I'm pretty sure that's still against the law. I'll sum up his career here at Nebraska. He had one great game. Besides that, he was a liability because he had a huge fumbling problem. People did nothing but whine and complain about hit until after the Clemson game. He became some kind of folk hero for some reason after that game. For everyone saying the outcome would have been different in the Iowa State, VT, and Texas game; well the outcome might have also been different against OU and CU given one or more of his fumbles inside the 20. See that's not quite the truth. If he was ever caught, convicted, etc.. than it would be true. Otherwise, to quote Judge Judy, "It's hearsay." If we are judging people based on hearsay...we wouldn't be America would we? Plus, if it's only smoking weed? I prefer to cast my stones at garbage like child molesters, rapists, etc... Not a college kid who decided to smoke weed. Much more important things to worry about at least where I live. Not condoning it, just saying there was once a guy named LP. See there's someone to root against if you are needing to jump on someone to get that feeling.
  6. People must remember - people make mistakes, especially when we're referring to the college timeframe. That said, I hope Q succeeds. He didn't break any laws, didn't hurt anyone, and hasn't bad mouthed NU as far as I'm aware... I'm rooting for Q because why would we root against a human being that chose to wear RED, regardless of the events that led to his dismissal (since these weren't Thunder Collins' type charges...or charges period).
  7. Gomes is definitely one of the biggest individual playmakers we've had around these parts for a while... Times are improving around here that's for sure! Edited to add:
  8. Whatever excuse they want to use - it just doesn't matter because the results will always be the same. You only get one chance to play each game, and if you'd rather go home... Christmas happens every year, but the 2010 Holiday Bowl only happens once. And they blew it.
  9. And to be honest, I don't care who our QB is... and if Cody doesn't win the job this year why would we care if he transferred? It would obviously mean we missed on him...and that wouldn't be an insult it'd just be the truth. The best kid at every position. If a walk-on is best - good. If the big recruit is best - fine. The past and high school laurels are irrelevant - they don't matter. The best kid at every position. Regardless of last name or visual appeal. Matt Turman would have been welcomed last year had he arrived via Bill and Ted.
  10. Crouch was a really good passer - if by passer you mean he passed a lot of people while running because he was really fast. That is what you meant, right? Or else I'll have what you're having . (sarcasm in reference to use of "something" - no sarcasm when talking about Crouch's lack of throwing ability). Remember, he couldn't even pitch the ball properly - he bent Diedricks facemask how many times during his final year?
  11. For what it's worth - Mel Kiper basically made the same statement last night on ESPN Radio's Football Night in America (or whatever it's called after Unsportsmanlike conduct ends). He said (to paraphrase), how is McCoy a better pass rusher when Suh matched his sack total for the season in one game - and this game was against the best team he played - Texas. On this note, part of me is glad that Suh may go to my Detroit Lions (very small part - the Lions fan)... But the majority of me (the Husker fan) is feeling a little sorry that he could go from Bo's system to the Lion Cubs.....talk about a culture shock.
  12. Agreed. Haven't found much that's even close (mods, my address is....)
  13. My thoughts exactly. Every time I saw the Jets play this season, I thought I was watching O'Hanlon. Underrated but completely essential. He's gonna make some NFL defense very happy. Agreed. Cerebral safeties do exist in the NFL. I also saw him make some pretty nice hits this year in run support (bowl game anyone?)... We all say Bo knows safeties, and he seems to like Matt. He played a stellar year except for one play in the VA Tech game - and in reality the coaching staff could have helped him there by having more than a 2 deep (not bringing this conversation back, just observing). I personally would welcome him as a potential safety for my Detroit Lions. Can't be worse than what we've already got - which is no one (or at least I have never seen them actually near the play). Detroit's safeties are more like matadors, but I digress. Go Matt.
  14. Kind of long odds for O'Hanlon to make a roster. About as long as the odds of a Nebraska walk-on becoming a starter, and then being named Big 12 defensive player of the week. (Like O'Hanlon was after the OU game.) Anybody ever heard of Jim Leonhard - played last season with the NY Jets and season prior with the Ravens. O'Hanlon reminds me a lot of Leonhard - physical appearance doesn't necessarily scare anyone but they just make big play after big play. I think O'Hanlon is probably a little faster (based on what I have no clue )
  15. I was never sure why, but I always felt bad for Frankie London. He just seemed to be a genuinely good person that just kept falling on hard luck. Hopefully he's being over compensated by the good luck fairy post-NU for the horrendous luck he had while here...
  16. Unless they don't take the field, not much room to move down (bowl game excluded)...Bo will build them up and tear them down all spring, we'll be just fine.
  17. Excuse me? Westside - yuck. Other than 311 (and only part) what good comes from Westside?
  18. HAHAHAHA!!! He's from Westside anyways.... YUCK.
  19. Last year on '10 - they sent these out regionally and all platforms had the same pics. I imagine it will be done similarly as this would make the most sense and they did it last year....
  20. I'm sorry, did you type anything... nice jersey!
  21. Our next head coach Yes, agree with this guy here because he's talking some sense!
  22. TRAITOR - and he should be treated as such. I don't blame him for capitalizing on opportunity, but this is FOOTBALL. This ain't a tea party or class reunion so there's no reason to sugar-coat and pretend that everyone's friends when they take the field. Let's repay KU for that whooping from 2 years back in Lawrence EVERY time we play Turner. Worst decision he's EVER made... In the Big 12 North starting this year there is NU! And everyone else fighting for 2nd. Mark it.
  23. Already got cut.... wait that was NCAA Football 2010 on XBOX. There was a reason why other D1 schools were going to give Collins a shot at RB and a look at LB...All the highlights I remember from his senior year consisted of him running straight down the field thanks to a good O-line/offense, so I'm not all that sure that his stats told the truth about his talent (a la the Denver Bronco's - who the hell is Mike Andersen?)... I think he's going to go down like David Horne without the good games as a frosh. Another metro running back that had the wheels fall off when forced to compete against other big names. (the only basis for my unable to compete comment arising from the fact that he quit, then returned the next day). Collins has always sounded like a Diva to me...that's just my opinion obviously but I imagine that's not a good perception to reek of with BO at the helm.
