  1. We'll do that and just to show how much we like you, we'll throw in a beating of Kansas at no extra charge. You're welcome.
  2. Going to KU. And it's official. He is still undecided as the link states so it isn't official. Yet http://kansas.rivals.com/barrier_noentry.a...p;mid=&rid= We're pretty used to thrashing everyone in bball recruiting. Feels pretty good to do it in fball too. Will Terry end up at Nebraska or Kansas? Dunno. All I'm saying is don't get penisy until you guys have received his LOI. And for the record, I want Terry to pick the school he'll be the most happy at...even if it's Kansas.
  3. I wish Nebraska would've beaten Missouri last season...
  4. I think the general decline you've pointed out can be attributed to the proliferation of offenses using the shotgun and 3, 4 or 5 WR sets. Simply put, the personnel you would use against an I-Formation with 1 TE, 2 RB's and 2 WR's is completely different than what you would use for a shotgun 4 WR's and 1 RB set. Against a standard I formation a 4-3, with base personnel is a very good counter. However, against a shotgun 4 WR, 1 RB the D would need to be in a nickel package at least, maybe even dime or quarter depending on the situation: down, distance, time remaining, score, etc. And let's face it...there's not a lot of super fast CB/DB type of athletes in the state of Nebraska...leastways not the kind that can match up against the kind of WR's that USC, Texas, Florida, Oklahoma, etc can put on the field. Just my .02.
  5. This unproven coaching staff won all the games they we're supposed to, including a victory in the bowl game that most experts thought they'd lose. 3rd in rushing defense in the conference behind Texas and Oklahoma...21st nationally. Pretty good, but with room for improvement. 2nd in the Big 12 and 55th nationally in total defense. 6th in the conference in scoring defense and 80th nationally. 8th in pass efficiency and 82nd nationally. While the numbers for our national rank are mediocre the numbers of our conference rank are much better. In three of the four major defensive categories we're in the upper half and in two of the four in the upper third ranking of the conference. I'm not sure what team you're pulling for but my guess is that Nebraska beat you and/or our defense, statistically speaking, was better than yours. As for playing walk-ons and back-ups and saving the redshirts...you're joking right?
  6. Hey mister, take that optimism somewhere else...there's only doom and gloom here.
  7. Just because Perrilloux doesn't have a strong work ethic, has gotten trouble in the past, and doesn't do it the "Nebraska Way" doesn't mean he is probably in jail. He is playing at Jacksonville State and will be a senior and most likely will be drafted next year. I was kidding. And actually, if he would've been in jail it really wouldn't have surprised me in the least. Bottom line: While Perilloux has the talent to get a shot in the NFL, talent alone won't keep him there. Everybody in the NFL is talented. Those that succeed, those that excel are typically the guys who out-work everyone else. Very, very few guys are like Randy Moss and can skate by on sheer talent alone.
  8. I don't have a problem with him cheering for LSU. But I do see something wrong with using their rallying cry. I see it just as bad as him showing up to that game, wearing LSU gear. I think you need to get out more...
  9. I understand what you're saying and I just want to add this for your, and everyone else's, consideration.... Nebraska vs Kansas: Tradition: Nebraska Facilities: Nebraska Championships: Nebraska Players In The NFL: Nebraska Coaching Staff: Nebraska We have every edge you can think of when it comes to recruiting against Kansas. And yet, we lose a kid like Keeston Terry to the Jayhawks. Why? Because both his parents and high school coach are KU alums. Think about it, the three most influential people in Terry's life are all denigrating NU and talking up KU and people are shocked he switched his committment? Yes it sucks to be sure especially since WR is such a position of need for this class. But sometimes what a program like Nebraska can offer versus a program like Kansas isn't enough. Sometimes it comes down to the team momma likes best and in this case she's a KU alum. Such is life.
  10. Pwned? Now don't go rubbing it in Chesapeake..If you've been around wimmen as much as I have..you can pretty much tell when they're faking...In retrospect..I bet she was using the word, "Excited" for shock value..and not how she really felt..I could be wrong. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to pull that up...congrats. I knew it was there. I could have went into my post any time and edited it out, but I didn't. Truth is I left it in there purposefully because I wanted to see if people actually read, and comprehended, what I was saying. And as you can tell from all the subsequent posts I truly have carried the excitement forward. Why I get...ummmm....I get soooo wet just thinking about Curtis Carter...that I just have to touch myself....ahh...ahhh....ummmm...no....no, not really. Seriously though, recruiting is fun to follow I just don't get wrapped up in the daily drama/ups and downs like SOME do. I am truly sorry if I gave ChesireCat, and all the other drama lovers, a case of hypertension.
  11. When it comes to stars I like to use the Adrian Peterson / Ryan Perilloux example. Both were five star prospects coming out of high school. Both had oodles of potential. So what was the difference between the two? Work ethic and committment. Adrian Peterson, from everything I have heard, has an incredibly strong work ethic and does everything the right way, dare I say he does it the "Nebraska way." Ryan Perilloux on the other hand was lazy, a trouble maker and had a poor work ethic. One is in the NFL the other was booted off the team and is probably in jail right now. I'm not a star gazer by any stretch but stars do matter...to a degree.
  12. "Behind" perhaps... However, Nebraska has August, September, October, November, December and January...that's six plus months to fill basically 11-12 spots. Now, if it's the end of December or just getting into January are they're still sitting at four commits...then I believe there would be cause for at least a little bit of concern.
  13. For posting that...have someone kick you in the jewels...
  14. I watched that video last night... And the guy is absolutely correct...the tow truck company, or any other retailer for that matter, has to take the payment, even if it's in pennies. Which reminds me of a story... I used to drive a cab here in Boise and one night I picked up a gentleman from the 44 Club on W. State Street. I drove him home and upon pulling into his driveway the meter read $8.70. He went into the house, came back out and paid me in pennies. They were all rolled, nice and neat but still I thought, "Are you fricking kidding me?" But, I took them because pennies are still a valid legal tender US currency. Looking back on it now.......
  15. To Keeston Terry: Good luck at Kansas.
  16. I wasn't aware that a plastic blow-up doll could use a computer.
  17. Every thread? Now you're being silly.
