  1. Converted linebacker? Yep. Although LaTravius did play QB in high school if I'm not mistaken. And, I do believe that Ohio State and a couple other schools wanted LW as a QB. How he ended up at Nebraska as a LB? Good recruiting by the former staff I guess.
  2. Doesn't matter how you feel. What matters is what the coaches think. And if the offensive coaches think he's the #2 QB then so be it. For the record, I'd like to see Cody Green redshirt, but that's the coaches decision. And, if he's the #2 QB then the chances of him redshirting go down drastically. But then again, even though he's the #2 QB, if he doesn't play a snap then he'll still 'shirt even though he's listed as the #2 QB on the depth chart.
  3. The part in blue...No, you're remembering Dan Alexander.
  4. Yeah I know you're messing and I appreciate that...
  5. All I have is gut intuition to go on here...but: Kansas and Missouri are in for a real rude awakening this season. The free passes they were given to kick the crap out of Nebraska during the former coaches tenure have been revoked. This season the Huskers have come to kick a** and chew bubble gum...and they're all out of bubble gum.
  6. Because any moron with a computer and internet access can become a blogger. Blogging is just like regular journalism, all you're doing is giving your opinion.
  7. Actually, that gravitational pull you're referencing is merely Jerry Jones ego. And with the size of that screen he's obviously overcompensating for a severe deficiency in some other area.
  8. And the conspiracy theorists continue to rant and rave...........
  9. The part in green...Yes I do. And I've never played football but if a running back isn't breathing heavy after two, three or four consecutive carries then I'd imagine he's not putting forth much effort. I've never really been a fan of the whole "short yardage" back philosophy. You want to have two or three guys every season who can step in and play. The part in orange...If the OL, TE and HB/FB do their respective jobs the hole will be there for whichever RB is in the game hence there'll be no need for short yardage.
  10. You have every right to change your mind. However, your assertion that QC was kicked off the team because he was a recruit of the former coach is ridiculous to say the least. And, do I really need to run down the list of players that the former coach "ran off" when he took over for Frank Solich? Do you really want to open that can of worms?
  11. And you will...on September 5th after the game against Florida Atlantic.
  12. Well he did stand trial and was found guilty by a jury.
  13. I read the article and it really didn't say anything that we didn't already know or at the very least suspect. I'm guessing that QC had many screw ups, that we don't know about, prior to this incident. And it was the most recent situation which was the straw which broke the proverbial camel's back. In summary: good luck to QC in the future, Bo did the right thing, the case is closed and it's time to move on.
  14. I'm not counting on anything... I said IF what I've read in the recruiting forum is true... And your point about Feb '11 being a LONG way off is well taken. I was hesitant to even mention A. Green and I didn't mean to imply that he's 100% Nebraska. I simply used him to point out to rhkfu that Nebraska has signed some really highly rated kids at RB recently and is in serious contention for some even higher rated players beginning in '11.
  15. I was thinking that Nebraska's '10 recruiting class was going to be around 15 kids due to the scholarship numbers crunch this year. However, due to attrition Bo may have 20+ scholarships to give by the time it is all said and done.
  16. I'll add my .02... Releasing players from the team is a vital and necessary option for a head coach. These players are kids and if a coach allows these kids free reign a program can degenerate into "The Lord of the Flies" rather quickly. No player, whether he's a scrub, walk-on, a 5 stud or anything in between is above the rules. And, the fastest way for a coach to lose control over the team is the give preferential treatment to star players.
  17. Castille could still go to Missouri, or any other Big 12 school. He never redshirted and so the two year wait would comprise his redshirt year and one year of eligibility. Then he'd have one year to play. I'm just saying it is still possible.
  18. The part in blue...Three of the top players? You're referring to Briscoe and I assume Reesing and Meirer? I'll admit Briscoe is one of the top three WR's in the Big 12, and I think you can make a legitimate case that he's one of the best nationally. Reesing is good, has tons of heart but there is no way he is in the top three for QB's nationally. The top three QB's in most people's estimation are: McCoy, Bradford and Tebow. And Meirer is good as well but nowhere near being in the top three for WR's. The part in purple...We have some talent as well. I honestly think you're assuming that because you guys beat us in Lawrence the last two years that you think a W is nearly a given. I'm one Husker fan who certainly isn't writing Kansas off or taking you guys lightly but there's a LOT of football to be played before NU and KU meet. Both teams need to take care of their business before they meet.
  19. I agree. And, for the coaches, especially Bo Pelini, to speak so highly about an individual player, a true freshman RB to boot, speaks volumes about just how good this kid must be. RACE!!! He's white, so folks all wanted to make him a safety or a WR or an OLB. Reverse discrimination? Are you really playing that card? Or here's a crazy idea: Maybe he's just so talented that other programs wanted him for a different position because they already had committments at running back? Naw, that couldn't possiblly be the case...
  20. The part in red...Ummm just for your information... Rex Burkhead was a 4 recruit and rated as the 9th best RB in the nation last year according to rivals.com and Quentin Castille was a 4 from LaPorte, Texas (Yeah I know he's no longer with the team and that's a completely seperate issue.) And if what I've read about Aaron Green, current Nebraska DB Andrew Green's little brother, is true he's as good as N and will probably be the #1 ranked RB in Texas, possibly the nation and a 5 to boot. Wasn't Dontraveyous Robinson a 4 star as well? According to Rivals he was a 3 star. Robinson I'm not sure how he was rated on any other site and I'm too lazy to look it up.

  22. 1. Virginia Tech is located in Blacksburg, not Blackwater... 2. You're right, everyone is entitled to their respective opinion. An opinion is like an a**hole...everybody got one. 3. You are going to have a rude awkening this season. Nebraska's defense, while certainly not where Bo wants them to be, has made tremendous strides. If you watched any of Nebraska's games last season, and judging by your post you did not, the Husker clearly improved, especially on defense, as the season progressed. And while we have questions at LB and both S spots, we have arguably one of the top DL's in the conference if not the nation and it's anchored by N. Suh who is the best DT in all of college football. 4. The part in green... Edit: The part in red...
  23. I don't see why he couldn't. And if the fall semester hasn't started yet there's still time to register.
