You seem to think this should be about being loyal, so then I would ask, why werent the jayhawks ever loyal to NU when they needed some help with votes? Hell, are you trying to tell me that Bill Self doesnt bring in "prop 48" guys on that basketball team? I know he does, I am an illini fan for basketball and guess what, he got his "prop 48ers" in there somehow. You are mad because you are going to end up playing in some weird conference, tough break. Bill Self is going to leave KU within the next few months or if you are lucky after this basketball season. He is pissed about this and will be taking off to coach Texas (if Rick Barnes doesnt get his act together) or Arizona, where they are dying for a guy like Self. So in the end, you lost your conference because you never bothered to help NU and now you will lose your basketball coach because he is pissed.

MSU campus is AMAZING! Make that trip if you have not. I grew up in Illinois, went to UNL but visited MSU while in high school, WOW.

The tailgating in Lincoln is average at best, that might be putting it nicely. Last year for the OU game it was the best I have ever seen, EVER, at NU and that was still just okay. If you are in champions parking lot its better, if you are under the underpass its pretty good. But mostly, you will hit about 10 bars, drink outside at a few of them and then walk 10 minutes to the stadium.

It seems like every single year South Carolina is right around the bottom of the top 25, then they start off really well and then fall apart. Then you look at the end of the season and they are 7-5.

Heard he has 3 years to play 3 years which is huge. The kid was a big time target as a senior but lots of schools started to figure they couldnt sign him because of grades. It seems like right now he might be just a touch under the radar as most JC guys are or seem to be. On 1620 Crabtree said that he has not really been evaluated yet.

There is a lot of truth to this. Thats the thing, these raters get to go back over and over and over and rerank. Coaches have to do it right the first time for the most part. A long time ago, Tracey McGrady (basketball) went from unranked to #1, how???? Think about that?? If you dont think who offers a kid has anything to do with ranking you are crazy. There is a reason that the teams that finish in the top 15 in recruiting rankings win NC's, its because rivals gets to rerank over and over!!! Hell, think how many offers are already out to kids that have yet to be ranked. Yet, somehow there are still people that freak out when our coaches (experts) offer a kid who doesnt have a lot of offers or doesnt have a lot of Rivals pub, because people think Rivals are the experts. Rivals has the luxoury of waiting, seeing facts, then predicting. It would be like me telling you that "Guess what, Last night Dwight Howard will play a great game"

Heck most Kickers in high school are just tossed to the side during practice to "go kick" with no coaching.

Tim Griffen was it? I never had a problem with the guy and wondered why people liked beating up on him so much...I think we're just gonna find problems with everyone. Although, so this new guy doesn't know the lead-in songs for all 12 teams...not a huge deal. Granted, haven't read much of his stuff. Thank you!!!

I don't think I'm breaking any rules here because I'm not cut and pasting anything here and I'm using my own words and breaking it down. Sure I pay for it but there are other Husker fans that want to know more about recruits as much as I do that don't want to pay for the Rivals account. Also being a paid member I get text alerts on commits or other Husker news which others here do not. EDIT: If the Mods and Admins feel as though I'm breaking a rule they can contact me but I have not broke the rules here and I'm sure other Rival account users will agree with me on this. If you are worried about breaking a rule just say you are an "insider" like all the posters at HI (Bubble Gum and those losers), that way it will seem like you are working in the AD's office and other posters will try to rub your balls because they will think you are super cool. In other words, what you are doing is fine and if you feel like sharing info, it is fine. What are you doing is the same as someone having a personal trainer and you finish your workout and go tell your buddies about the things you did.

I know what you are saying but rating high school kickers is hard as hell. First of all, most of them dont attempt but maybe 10 FGs a year it seems like, then you have scrubs playing special teams so you get bad snaps, bad blocking, bad holds. You have a lot of coaches that would rather punt or go for it then attempt a field goal. In the end, you are trying to rate kickers from camps where they line up with no rush, usually perfect conditions, lots of time they dont even have pads on. I think that if you are a coach and you find a good kicker/punter, one that is going to be valuable for 4 years, you offer him.

I have seen lots of people, not so much on this board but on HI, that are ripping this kid for asking all these questions. I think its great that he is asking all these questions, college is a huge choice for a "regular" college kid that is just going to be a "regular" student so I can see why he would want to know all this. People on other boards were scoffing at his question about the weather, are they crazy? Lots of students I know say things like "I want to go to a warm weather school" and people relocate for warmer places all the time. I know other posters, again not so much here on this board, have scoffed at the questions about describing the town and things like that, I think thats a fantastic question. How many recruiting visits do you think show off those "normal" things, like shopping malls, walmarts, movie theathers and so on. Those trips focus on the school and the sport and then parties. I like his list and I know that some of the questions can be answered by google or whatever but I think all the questions are fair.

This is why I love college football! UT is coming off two sh**ty games where their offense was shut down in both and their defense exposed in another. Lets just leave it at that. You really don't understand why NU dislikes UT? Dude, its college football, fans of team A generally dislike fans of team B-Z

Am I the only one that doesnt ever hit traffic on I-80 on the way to a game? What time do you guys leave for games usually, like how far in advance do you leave.

I have heard from the start that it will not be a night game because of NASCAR, my guess and this is just a guess is that Mack Brown new that too and thats another reason that he decided not to play this game on Thursday night, knowing that it would be a day game on Saturday. Let's face it, night games rock. The stadium is so much louder due to the fact that people start partying around 10am! I know for the OU game last year we go there at 11am and started to get after it! I think we can probably rule out an 11am or early start, so that probably leaves 2:30.

I think that sometimes people think that a D1 kid should just be KILLING it in high school, like it should look like they are playing against 7th graders or something.

See, I dont think that Cal, UCLA or USC has to offer kids from California all that soon, signing day is like 8 or 9 months away so they are probably looking over all the kids still and might not offer all of them right now.

i believe Wyoming offered first but i could be wrong. Its not about them being the first, its about them being the first and only. if this kid was totally legit, dont you think one of the many d1 programs in CA wouldve offered him right away? Isnt it safe to say that any coach is gonna hype his kid up and never downplay his conference when asked? Isnt safe to say that any coach is gonna use any advantage possible like using the california card? Isnt it safe to say that a low division player has many question marks? i mean, at least i have some knowledge with my answers, everyone is giving me the safe card by saying trust the staff. besides that what else is out there? yeah he hits hard but he hits kids who will never sniff a d1 offer. i mean you heard unsportsmanlike conduct and even they saw how small those kids are. its comparable to freshman football in long beach and even then those freshman are already getting d1 offers. So what else needs to be said? I dont think that CA schools would have offered him right away, why would they? NU doesnt have to offer Nebraska kids right away because you always have that hometown pull. No, it is not safe to say that any/most high school coaches will hype up their kid and downplay their conferences "badness". I have been on 3 different staffs and helped send a few kids to D1 schools and its not really something that is done. High school coaches generally do not want to set up their kids for failure so most wont lie to convince a college coach anything. I dont know what the california card is so I cant answer that. Yeah, its safe to say that a lower division kid could have question marks. I think thats safe to say about any and all players. Also, most high school guys are not playing vs and hitting other D1 guys while in high school. I mean there are about 2,500 scholarships for D1 players per year and well, there are about 40,000 public and private high schools in the US, you got to think that if each one has a varsity football team and that averages about 40 players per team, well do the math. Most high school players never play vs another D1 guy. I played in the largest class in IL, my school had close to 3000 kids, the schools we played all had 3000 or more and I played against zero future D1 guys that I know of and I played with three guys that went on to play D1 but at non BCS schools.

Vince, I have a question for you and I hope you answer it. Why can't NU be the first team to offer a kid and why can't if be okay for them to be the first to offer? Dont you think it is safe to assume that the staff looked at more then one 5 minute film and that they know where he plays and who he plays and that they talked to his coaches about him?
