  1. Could be. I think we could all get together and petition Nebraska to drop football and then for Creighton to start a Division 1 Football program!!!
  2. As a Defensive coordinator, Yes he has. As a head coach. No he hasn't. You might have noticed he's only been a head coach for 1 and a half seasons and this season isn't over yet!
  3. Why is Bill Snyder NOT # 1 ??? Are you kidding me ??? Because it's my opinion Bill Snyder is a washed up hack who can't and never could win the big ones. I think he's got a long way to go and a few big wins over conference bottom feeders don't show me what his overall return record will. He does have one thing on Tom Osborne though, he can say the word "Mentor" correctly. http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37358 Snyder couldn't win the big ones? In the 2003 Big 12 Championship game, KState was projected to lose by a bazillion points to the Sooners. I'd call that game a pretty big one. Snyder's legacy at K-State includes winning the Big 12 championship in 2003 – the school's second major conference title ever. During the 1998 season, Kansas State posted an undefeated 11–0 regular season and earned its first ever number 1 ranking in the national polls, just ten years after being named the WORST program in the country by Sports Illustrated. He was NATIONAL coach of the year three times, and CONFERENCE coach of the year six times. Apparently, several do not agree with your assessment of Snyder. By the way, he also has a winning bowl record. Thanks for repeating information we already covered..... Like the fluke win over Oklahoma in 2003. (That is one of few Big Ones for K state.) Let me comment on that 1998 season of Bill Snyders. I've already commented on the gift win they got over Nebraska that season. That was the season the greatest team in K state history couldn't cut it against a scrappy Texas A&M team. Also the same year they lost the ALAMO BOWL to a middle of the Big TEN Purdue. Just because others disagree with me doesn't mean they are right or I'm wrong. It means we disagree. I don't happen to think that Bill Snyder has the horses anymore to do anything more than keep Kansas State mediocre. You know I started this thread so we could all rank the coaches. We all did. Some of you like Bill Snyder..Thats nice. I don't. Get over it!
  4. What baffles me is this Orgasm so many Husker fans have over this old fart Bill Snyder. The coach that "Almost Did it." The coach that brought a program to the top of mediocrity and watched it slip back down when he left. I see several of you rank him ahead of people like Mack Brown and Bob Stoops, coaches who have actually done something we call "Win National Championships" "Win Conference Championships" and "Go to BCS Bowls." While I might pick Bo Pelini because I'm extremely biased toward Nebraska, His defenses have actually won conference and national titles and I expect him to do the same here soon and I love his personality. Now I know old Bill Snyder won a BIG XII Championship out of sheer luck and poor play by a superior team but that just doesn't impress me very much. I have no love of Kansas State and he epitomizes them. I still think he's a washed up hack.. He's got some time to prove me wrong. If he does. More power to him.
  5. Ummmmmm. Lets see. So what? No, absolutely not and again so what? The meat of the season is coming up. We'll see where the Kansas State MenTOR sits at the end of the season.
  6. It's not a long standing record.. The last Halloween game was a L. There is no streak to break.

  8. I think my favorite Halloween moment was when then 3rd string QB Monte "The Count" Christo was dressed up like "Count Dracula" on Huskervision in his first career Start for Nebraska in a hard fought losing effort over Texas in 1998. The only loss Nebraska ever suffered on Halloween. 1998: 16-20 Loss at home to Texas 1992: 52-7 Home win over #8 Colorado 1987: 42-7 Road win over Missouri 1981: 31-15 Home win over Kansas 1970: 29-13 Road win over Colorado 1964: 9-0 Home win over Missouri 1959: 25-21 Home win over #19 Oklahoma 1953: 9-0 Home win over Kansas 1942: 14-7 Road win over Kansas 1936: 20-0 Home win over Missouri 1931: 10-7 Road win over Missouri 1925: 12-0 Home win over Oklahoma 1914: 20-7 Home win over Iowa State 1908: 11-8 Road win over Iowa 1903: 17-6 Road win over Iowa 1896: 18-8 Home win over Nebraska Weslyan 1891: 28-4 Home win over Doane All time Halloween Record 16-1
  9. The head coach and the Offensive coordinator are split on the decision on whom to start... ummmm.. Seems like a simple answer to me.. Head coach decision trumps ANY decision of the OC. At least it should. Bo can pull rank on Wats any day of the week if he so desires and should in my opinion.
  10. Yes, minus the turnovers and fundamental mistakes by the receivers I thought the offense showed improvement.
  11. Then wear the flag of the team you represented and don't lollygag around the question.
  12. So is the jealousy element from a division II, III or NAIA player who got snubbed by Nebraska?
  13. but Knapp, I am in the mood to make him look like an idiot. It will make me feel better and shouldn't be that difficult. Whenever you're ready, lets do this. In all honesty, I don't have a favorite team, but I do root for whoever is playing the Huskers. That's a classic, juvenile, and predictable LIE! Whoever your team really is this is a classless example to set for them and that's why you don't show your true colors. Hecklers don't troll just to troll. There is a method to the stupidity and an underlying psychological reason that either jealousy or humiliation is the root cause of.
  14. It's a damn shame to keep watching such great play from a defense that is the caliber which could have this team competing for BCS bowls,BIG XII and National titles way before anyone expected if the other side of the ball could just put out an average preformance on the field. I think no matter what happens Bo is off to an excellent start, the defensive future is extremely bright and elements will fall into place offensively that put Nebraska back into the top 5 consistantly in the next few years.
  15. 1) If the Offense keeps showing up that played against Texas Tech 1-4 2) If the Offense keeps showing up that played against Missouri 2-3 3) If the offense shows up that played against Iowa State Minus 8 turnovers 3-2. 4) If the offense that showed up against Iowa state plus FUNDAMENTAL improvements like.... Receivers learning how to catch first and run second. Running backs learning how to hang onto the ball. Quarterbacks staying focused, consistant, and leaving their mental issues in the locker room, and offensive linemen improving upon a better game Nebraska will be 4-1 or possibly 5-0 to end the regular season and BIG XII North championship.
  16. Boo Hoo. DEAL! If recruits are swayed away from a football program by message board posts then they are pretty thick individuals and probably not the type of charachters you want on your team.
  17. I want to answer these with a dose of honesty. If service is bad or they are unprofessional. YES. ALMOST EVERY TIME! Honestly? Every single day! Omahans are horrible drivers and I am a road rager. I'm also impatient and hot headed. What did they do to deserve it? Compassion from me isn't exactly common. I'll admit to being selfish and a downright jerk. I'll also tell you thats human nature and happening more and more every day. Right or wrong, people have always been selfish.
  18. NOTHING. Fans are fans. Nebraska fans might think they are better and might buy into the media hype that we are so great and can do no wrong. When it comes down to it we aren't any different than anybody else. We have been let down for too long and we are tired of losing the kind of games we lost on Saturday and it's showing. Nebraska fans = Humans = Human Nature= Often not nice The only true degree of separation between Nebraska fans and other college football fans are. We generally don't assault opposing fans. We aren't AS verbally abusive and visitors aren't afraid to come here. We have sold out memorial stadium 301 times showing immaculate loyalty. Some of us golf clap opponents win or lose at the end of home games.
  19. No matter what side of the booing debate you are on the once great country thing got me going. While I agree with the statement "once great country" to a point. I don't think booing is a part of the problem. I think just the opposite. Adversity builds charechter and valuable lessons are learned hard. Too many things are handed out and given away. Too little accountability and too much candy a$$ing when things get hard. Booing when something stinks is fine! Especially if you are putting yourself on a stage by choice in front of 85,000 people! You can expect almost anything. You can gauge the attitude of Nebraskans by what you are hearing in the stands. It's not just distain for the product on the field. Things are getting strange and they show in every part of our lives. Bickering in the stands, rudeness, and booing shows it. I saw it all Saturday at Memorial Stadium, East Stadium. Section 7. Booing is part of that great given right our forefathers promised us. Freedom of speech. Unfortunately they didn't promise college football players "Freedom From Booing." I will cheer effort, I will cheer determination, I will stand up on 3rd and 4th down and make noise, I will cheer when the odds are stacked against.. but , I will Boo bad calls. I will boo poor effort and I will boo bad coaching. I'm not afraid to speak my mind and I'm not afraid for others to hear it. If you disagree with what I have to say. Thats fine. For the time being we still have that great thing called the first amendment.
