No problem, you are forgiven. How did this happen. Must be a full moon or something.
  2. Sorry guys I just do not see anything he said as bad. Still don't.

Exactly. You redshirt when you have the talent to do it. Currently we do not have that talent. This staff honestly could care less about redshirts. We need who ever can play on the field. If Harrison is as good as we think he is, he will be gone and another elite 11 will be signing the agreement. Keep the young playing and opening the doors. The more that play the more they will come. Leinart was following a Heisman trophy player on a NC team. We are not there yet. But I hope we are by the end of the year.
  4. That is what I was saying. I think the kid is very excited to have the opportunity to play Nebraska.
  5. He never in any way disrespected this program. He said the loudest place he ever played was Montana. He thinks he will be able to handle the situation. Nothing negative, alot of positive. Respect of our program, but loyalty to his. He feels he has a chance. Did you expect him to say, well my Pee Wee game had 29 people and they all knew my name. I know we have no chance because we will never hear a play. We have a player that just made the coment that he did not think there was a single team on our schedule that could beat us. Most endoresed that coment. A positive attitude. He did not disrespect another team. He has never played in major college football game. He does not know what to expect from top level programs either. He just stated he thought he could handle it. That would come from confidence in his ability and program. Same situation.
  6. Living in the past Foppa. These kids now days have played for years. They have counselors that teach them to over come preasure. They do not fear fans. Noise will be bothersom, but no intimidation. They fear and are intimidated by bigger, faster, smarter, meaner and better coached athletes. Southern Miss never feared us, Mississippi never feared us and you really think ISU fears us. Things of the past. If we start beating every ones ass on a regular basis then and only then will they be intimidated by coming to Nebraska, and it won't be the stadium or the fans. But we are on our way back to those days. But give the credit where it is due. The staff and the players will have to cause the intimidation factor. Be afraid, very afraid. My son raced professional Motocross, 75,000 fans screaming, noise form the bikes, the difficulty of the track. His coments were he could not hear a single thing, during the race it was silent except for his bike and the others near him. Athletes can be bothered by noise, hearing the plays, but not frightened by it. Things have changed in todays sports. We as a group may cause a false start or a dropped pass, and of course that could change a game. But it is a very little part of the game anymore. We have a reputation as being good fans. None of them fear being beat or things thrown at them while on the field. No shot guns going off in their ears. We really are a pretty tame invironment compared to some stadiums.
  7. Stuck, I agree, this is probably the best, fairest board around. Most if they do not agree still give you the time to mention it and normally do not bad mouth your thoughts. I have the same worries. I do not think we will be as good as some think, but that does not mean that I am not terribly excited about this team. It is young and motivated. There are quite a few potential game breakers in this group. I just hope they jell by the time conference opens.
  8. I think we are over doing it a bit. The kid did not make a derogative remark. He has confidence in his ability. He did not disrespect us he just stated it will not be mind blowing. Some people have that type of confidence, fear no evil so to speak. You need to have confidence going into battle. I think that is all he was saying. I think we are way to protective of our beloved Huskers at times. I too agree he will be impressed, but intimitdated by the stadium, who knows. But I would bet if he is intimidated and he is asked about it after the game, his response will be the correct one. We need to admire, confidence, determination, loyalty and motivation, whether it be a Nebraska player or our opponent. I respect this kid for making a positive comment about his program.

94/95, I do not think he will redshirt under any circumstance other than injury. It will do him no good running the scout team. He will get reps through the year and if he is as good as advertised he will be gone before his senior year anyway. I think he and Ganz play this year. I look to see both in the Maine game if we pull away early. I doubt either will see much time after the Maine game until Baylor.

schestev please go back to BigHuskerFan. Your input is not needed nor wanted here I am sure... I have not heard too much about Beck dominating practice. I heard he finally had a good day the other day. Most days have been nervous and stressed. He has proven he is a Freshman and that is about it. He will need to put at least a week of solid practice together and then maybe he will play. He will not start the Maine game and my guess he will not start this year unless Taylor is hurt. I have heard that Ganz is above him at this time. I will have more information on him and the ongoing battle Monday. Either way, what a wonderful problem to have. Been a long time when we had 3-4 good kids vieing for the starting QB at Nebarask if ever. Thank god we are moving into the 21st century of college football.

I have not noticed this going on with Taylor. Or heard that it happened in the spring game. Beck is new and totally inexperienced in the offense, BC may feel he needs more attention than Taylor at this point. I think BC had Joe come to the sideline to try and calm him down. Joe did not have the ability nor the confidence to run this offense and in my mind any offense at the Division 1 level. Nothing evil, just my opinion. I think he needed every stroke he could get and BC brought him to the sideline to calm him and help him remember the play. Most on the team realized very quickly their season was not in good hands. The less discussion going on the huddle the better I would guess. If you remember most shots of Joe on the sideline, he was alone. I am sure many felt he was inadequate by the 3rd game. I doubt he had many supporters helping as the season unfolded. Most knew the reason the offense was failing. Really to bad.
  12. Growing up in Nebraska many years ago, I do not remember young ladies being very quick at removing their clothes, it was always quite an effor if I remember correctly. OHH the memories. It sure sucks getting old!!!!!!
  13. OKC, It only shows they respect us. They know we are on the rebound and the games will be a factor in the future. Good friendly ribbing is what makes college football the greatest. I live in SoCal, I have lived here for nearly 30 years. You used to occasionaly see a USC hat or shirt. Never a word about football on the news if SC or UCLA were not in the top 20. Now you can not go a day without seeing a bandwagon SC fan running his mouth. I love it as I know this staff and team will be back and will be our turn again Remember we embarassed OU pretty bad a few years back. They have scoreboard, let them talk, it will only be more fun when the shoe is on the other foot. I actually hope we both return where we once were. Knowing that it was going to be a game till the last minute. Rivals are great to have. Unfortunately we have fallen out of that category, but WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. There is a dedication here we have not seen in awhile. Working for a common goal. I like what this staff has done with the character of this program. Things will be moving forward.
  15. I think we take it a little to seriously. I would imagine Zac has seen them and he thinks they are hilarious. I know I do. But I would imagine it also lights a little bit of fire under him to. I saw nothing evil or sinister about it. All in good fun. Forget about it and just laugh at truly funny they are.
  16. In honesty what I have seen is a TEAM taking form. We truly have not had a team since the DeAngelo Evans and Eric Crouch problems. Incognito did many things to cause team problems also. Everyone being on the same page and being treated the same will make a big difference I think. I think BC has recruited not only talent but character, something in my mind that has been lost for quite awhile here.
  17. Just for what it is worth on the orthoscope. My son had his done on a Tuessday and raced supercross the following Saturday nite. It heals very quickly. There was a little swelling but by the following Monday he did not even know it had been done. I would imagine it depends on the amount of work to be done though. And in honesty most knee surgeries anymore are done by the scope, unless it is major disaster. From what they are saying I would guess he is at practice and walking the plays at least. My son walked out of the outpatient surgery with in an hour of the operation. Most sports ortho's now want them using the injured area as quick as possible.
  18. I think you are right Nameless. I don't know how I got that crossed up, but alas I did.
  19. You know Former for a former fan you seem to bring in a lot of information about the team. Thanks for your efforts, just pulling your leg a little.
  20. Just being in Nebraska is excitement enough for me. I can hardly wait for the Wake game. Going to Mistys the nite before is great too. I don't drink so very seldom hit the bars. I am really looking forward to the tail gate this year. Want to put some facs with the names. I am really looking forward to this year. I think we see some major improvement this year. I hope to be there for the Pittsburgh game too. Just depends on the wifes class reunion and if I can get back from Jefferson City, Missouri in time. Will it ever get here this year???
  21. Hoy, IMHO, that would be the correct answer. He was told to catch the ball. He had no protection nor lanes to return in. Just protect the ball, he did it and that is all that needs to be said on him. There is lot more talent this year, we will see if we are able to turn who ever it is loose this year. Hope springs eternal!!!!!
  22. FF brings valid points, he uses his head and thinks things out in general. I admire his tenacity. I have the same dislike for Pederson. I have met him and he is an arrogant ass. But just because I do not like him does not mean he can not do a good job. He ruffles feathers, but he is intelligent and he is a Nebraskan. He was trained by Tom and has been succesful. I still do not like the guy, but do think he knows what he is doing. BC is a different situation all together. He seems to be a good man that is trying to do the right things. This is a tough job and no matter the coach some would not have liked him. I have an appointment with him in September, it will be my first meeting with BC. So far I like him and what he is doing. I am willing to give him the chance to get the job done. I understand the dislike for the upper guy, but BC is in a position he has really no control over. He must do his job to the best of his ability. Hopefully he proves us right and FF will move from the dark side.
  23. Former, I posted last November that both were told to leave, as a matter of fact both the Bullocks were asked to leave if they could not become team players. It appears Dan has bought in this year. I certainly hope so. We need his talent, but this year I would guess if there is a problem the problem children will be setting. There was a major cancer on the team last year. It appears it is gone. If so the staff will have more time to move forward this year. Again I do not think we should measure it in just wins and losses. Action performance deeds need to be monitored. If we see a move in the right direction as a team I will be happy.
  24. We lost Hollowell and Williams. They were the defensive team FF. Without them, schemes, due to no pass rush had to be changed. The change was fought from the first day of practice. If there had been any talent on the bench Washington and Bullocks would have been riding the bench. Again a failure to procure the future. No DB's, No QB,s, No Dl's, No RE's. It is obvious if you just look.
